    I've owned and enjoyed multiple styles of bike, but at the ripe old age of 46, and having a body broken down through time and misuse, comfort is a tremendously important factor in selecting a bike for me. If I'm not comfortable on my 90-minute commutes, I'm not riding.
    Fun fact: For me, as I am now, bending over a tank on a sportbike is not comfortable. Sitting straight up and down, but leaning slightly forward, on a sport-tourer or adventure bike is not comfortable. I need to be able to lean back a bit, stretch my legs out a bit, and not put so much pressure on my lower back or my arms.
    I loved my old SV650S. It was my favorite ride for a while. Even so, after riding from San Diego to Julian and back (including some time on the mountain roads in the area, like Banner Grade), which totaled around three hours of riding, I was so sore (nearly numb) that I didn't want to ride again for a couple days. Later, I did the same ride on the Boulevard C50, and I felt like I could do it all over again immediately.
    Comfort is important, and no bike does "comfort" better than a cruiser, unless you want a full-bore tourer - the Winnebago of bikes .

    I disagree about sport bikes dumping you and cruisers doing nothing if you cracked the throttle too hard. A lot of cruisers make massive torque at low RPM, which means that power comes on instantly when you may not expect it, and you don't have to rev it up into the power band to make things dangerous. this is where number four comes in. Cruisers are specifically designed to have usable power at a very broad RPM range, not tunes for peak power only. Crack the throttle too hard on a torquey. V-Twin, and that back tire might just start spinning

    • @zorgzev96
      @zorgzev96 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he means that wild power hit at like 6k doesn't exist on a typical V twin. Sporties don't come alive till the redline of most cruisers.

    • @davisadams3120
      @davisadams3120 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Wheeler v twins have most torque at 6k? honestly they are torquey at any point and the comfort aspect isn’t always true when you have an older Harley with a little bit of rake to it not anything major like a chopper but some rake makes it a lil floppy where as sport bikes I imagine are a little bit more agile and snappy imo that makes it easier to feel and ride the bike idk mo

    • @zorgzev96
      @zorgzev96 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davisadams3120 most of the bigger v twins hit peak torque around 3500-4000 rpm. Most sport bikes hit it at 7000-9000 rpm.

      Yep, Cruiser is my first choice and Adventure Is my second! I went through a short sport bike phase in my early 20s but only lasted a year thankfully really one of my major regrets in life is that year! And my step uncle raced superbikes at Daytona and as far as I am concerned where they should stay! Sport bikers around hear (West TN) are mainly jerks and a menace to all other vehicles on the road!

      I hope you've realized your error since this post. You spend most of your bike time with your feet on the pegs, not the ground. Cruisers suit tall guys better with the feet forward. However cruisers also have their own flaws.

    I got a cruzer instad of a sport bike for 3 reasons:
    1. It is my first bike and I feel a lot more comfortable sitting upright and being able to see my feet
    2. I needed something somewhat practical that I could attach saddlebags to
    3. At 5'9", I couldn't flat foot the 250 sport bike I had been eyeing for weeks, but I could on the cruser

    There are more than 2 bike classes, adventure bikes and sports tourers are also popular. Basically people ride what they like and generally don't necesserily care for much of the others. I've never liked riding sports bikes as I don't find them comfortable and I don't want to ride on the edge all the time. I used to enjoy adventure bikes but now I just love large cruisers with comfort and power plus somewhere to stash your stuff. Mine is a 1500cc Honda Valkyrie and sports bike riders regularly slice me up to prove how fast they are but I doubt they will continue riding on from the UK to somewhere like Rome which is one of the places I've ridden to on it. There is no BETTER bike - it depends on what you want to ride and how you like to ride it.

    get a Cruiser, the comfort will make up for having no power
    looking for a good daily bike?
    get a Cruiser. it's just comfortable, traffic is already a hassel so you want to atleast have a comfortable ride
    you want more Power than an ordinary cruiser?
    get a sports cruiser.

      ReL Corsa I use to be the same way. I started on dirt bikes when I was really young then went into sports bikes. it took my liter bike breaking down for me to finally cave and ride my buddies Honda Shadow for a group ride....I absolutely hated that damn bike for the first few miles. its slow, slow to turn.slow to accelerate. but my god I fell in love fast. it's so goddamn comfy. my back wasn't begging to straighten out, my knees didn't feel locked behind my ass and my wrist didn't get sore nearly as fast.
      dude just jump on one and ride if for 10 miles. you will love it.
