Our special teams coach was joking about Fields returning kicks. Fields is the fastest on the team. That’s all.

Anyone that thinks their QB should be running back kicks, simply because he is the best athlete on the team should not be allowed to talk about football on television, radio, or podcasts ever again. They clearly don't know what they are talking about.

If anything, they should put in fields as a QB for a play or two and let him run the ball. Or use him as a decoy. If you see the steelers put in Fields as the QB near the goal line, what are you thinking? They put him in to run the ball in. Right? He could hand it off to the RB while running in the opposite direction or just dump pass to a WR or TE instead. But definitely NOT return kicks!

You lost me when you said we just have good defense lol
Because we do. They are exceptional at keeping points off the board, as they count on splash plays, but in-between the 20's they're average. i.e. ranked 19th vs the run, 21st yards per attempt, 17th vs the pass, 20th net yards/attempt. For example, Nick Chubb had 64 yds on 10 attempts in the first 15 minutes of the game. He was headed towards 270 yard outing before injured. But we got 2 TDs on splash plays on D to win.
People. If you created a QB on Madden and gave him 99 stats on everything, the ability to make every throw look perfect, and set the break tackle sliders to 100… BUT you give him a 15 awareness (presence/ timing) That’s Justin Fields.
Some way some how, if he can up that to a 65, you have the best QB in the league instead of an unstartable guy. As a Bears fan I’d love that for him.

Those guys are all starters.
Those guys are real QBs. Fields is an athlete that got a QB designation. But has no business being a QB when he can’t do the basics that come with the job. If Fields was white, you’d talk about him like you do Zack Wilson

Russ will take the Steelers far, maybe to the Super Bowl. His last few years in Seattle he played on a bad team. His two years in Denver he played on a bad team with bad coaches. That includes the vastly over rated Sean Payton.

@@toxickingchristian2645 Yes. The Steelers got Fields for almost nothing from the Bears because NFL coaches and general managers knew that Fields can't read defenses and has real accuracy problems. Also, reports said Fields had attitude problems and ignored advice from Andy Dalton and Nick Foles. Most of the anti-Russ stuff comes from the Broncos and their fans. If Russ does well with the Steelers, the Broncos will look stupid.
@@TomCarberry413 Since Russ got off of his rookie deal and couldn't rely on an all-world defense and top 5 RB he has TWO total playoff wins. One vs the Lions when they were still dog water and a 17-9 win vs a 9 win Eagles team. How impressive.

I would put Justin Fields back to return kicks, in at running back with najee at fullback, in the slot, hell I would see how he feels about rotating in at safety. he is an amazing athlete with high school level command of an offense and vision of the field. he is not the quarterback of the future for your franchise and you have virtually no money in him, why the hell would you not get him on the field as much as possible in whatever role works for YOUR TEAM????
