I'm a BC fan, but I'm so excited that the Elks won a game. Tre Ford needed to be the starter all year (in my opinion). Glad he got a chance now. Love to see all the teams competing.
this was my first time ever attending a pro sporting event and it was SO much fun!! CFL is a great product and the stadium did such a good job of keeping the energy and entertainment going....tunes between plays, video interaction with the crowd, cheerleaders all over the field... From our seats we had the perfect vantage point of the Edmonton throwing and running touchdowns....the ball flew directly away from me and into the receivers hands, and the running touchdowns....Leake ran directly away from me and through the line and had nothing but open field in front of him. Despite being from Sask, I was cheering for Edmonton because I know they are a better team than their record says and I don't like sad sack teams. They are definitely not sad sack now that they have Tre at the helm.
Hard to believe that Elks management endured Chris Jones stapling Tre Ford's butt to the bench for so long. I think that Tre has a bright future ahead of him.
As a Rider fan I expected a loss, but the manner in which it happened was painful. Missed tackles/assignments by the defence, dropped passes by the offence & another miss by Lauther, (he’s in a rough patch). Patterson was solid again but with the West closing up I do think Harris is needed sooner rather than later.
Tre Ford gives defense rest,expands passing game more vertically and cause Edmonton rushing attack to be explosive. So much influence was missed in the first month of the season for Edmonton.
Chris Jones was never going to trust starting a USports QB. Even one that they drafted! It’s sad but sometimes personal biases supersede winning. I wish Ford all the best….he IS must watch TV!

Why didn’t Edmonton start Ford earlier in the season? Oh well maybe they can claw their way out of the basemen with better leadership in the coaching staff. I was a good game, The Riders made some mistakes and Edmonton was able to take advantage of it. For such a strong Defence all season the Rider’s D looked like amateur hour last night.
Starting to slowly look like the last 2 years for Saskatchewan, good start then injuries pile up and they fold. I don’t think a 38 year old fragile Trevor will make much difference with a beat up o line. I hope I’m wrong but my gut says we blow it again this year.

Eh, we need to see them do this a few more times. The problem is a crossover is basically impossible so they can’t settle for fourth in the west, and the fourth and third teams (Winnipeg and Calgary) are not terrible.

Never seen a team go from a number 1 against the run to allow 2 rushing TD'S and frankly choked. It was not only the allowing the run game happened. It is such a terrible playing on a defense that was a ball hawks to team to giving up time and again.

Well... they pretty much lost because of the D. They were allowing less than 50 yards a game rushing, then game up almost 200. Then they added leaving wide open Elk receivers to the mix. But Patterson does help. He keeps throwing into coverage and relying on his receivers to make crazy catches. (Which they did this game).
