You could have gone from Swartberg to just outside of Matatiele via dirt road if you missed out the Cedarville flats...

@tonyshelver4931 hello Tony. Yes I went through the flats to experience that area. The short cut has 5 x the ascent as well, which I avoided. Keep well.....Richard
