Cycling life is a life you can never get bored by
Just keep pedaling-from here to eternity ❤
I have a bicycle like that, too, as a souvenir

I enjoy how you interact with the locals too
I have watched quite a few of your videos now and must say you are a truly amazing person with a beautiful spirit. Inspiration. I cycle as well and grew up in CT but now live in Poland. Blessings to you
It takes so much motivation to bikepack like this. Good work! Keep it up.
@advrides enjoying what you do makes it easy and the challenges make it interesting...
I was wondering what that farmer was spraying the field with?
@mbrylewski ..... It's better to spray the ground for weeds before planting the crop, than spraying the crop itself. The only vegetable or food you will ever get without some form of spraying, will be the food from your own backyard, so that's a great incentive to grow your own food. Most cosmetics you buy these days have sulphite etc in them, therefore also better to make your own cosmetics. Most town water is full of chemicals, so even better to drill your own borehole, that's if it's far enough from the septic tank :)))
@richardhunt3051 point taken but.....
I was afraid of those chain ladders
At 61 I'm so tired,just inspired
Keep going keep pushing, stay safe
So inspiring...Average travel per day?
@PeetBoshoff can be from 25km to 155 kms, depending on many conditions. It's not about the distance, but about the experience. Very rough is 8km/hr and easy is 25km/hr. When you choose back roads It's most probably going to be slow. You can stop and speak to people for an hour or more, and spend the rest of the day with them on their farms...so there is less distance covered. It's not a race, but a journey of discovery :))))
Thanks Richard, it was lovely to see a wonderful person like you, I'm joining you next year on the road tour, I'm also join the gym 😂😂😂😂
@mondliafrikakahadebehadebe1006 Hello Afrika...it was a pleasure to meet you and we need more men like you in this world. You have set a big goal and now get out there and do it. Much love....Richard :)))))
I used to be a tour guide in the eastern freestate, you are spot on about the government and our recreational area. Putting weddings first.
Just be vigilant and safe💃🏻🇿🇦🙏
It's great to be subscribed to your channel. The Bikepacking and touring friternity is surely growing steadily here in SA. Thanks for sharing your experiences. This was a lovely video to watch. 🎉💯 😎
@Bikepacking_sa..... thanks Tony and great to meet you online. What is the best platform for all us guys to connect here in SA? Still early days, but yes, we are growing in number and SA has much to offer.
I'm interested in your security measures with the bike when you shop?
@ronels1216 there is not one method for bike security while shopping. Every time is different. I do not leave anything loose that can be snatched off the bike. Some shops I leave the bike inside next to the security guard. Sometimes I leave the bike with someone maybe in an office or other place I can trust and walk a short distance to the shop. Sometimes I chain it to something near the door....I put on a vibration alarm and if anyone touches the bike the alarm will go off....of course the crooks see me do that and are afraid to touch the bike. Every shop has a security guard these days and they are there to help you. Most small towns in the NCape and Karoo, everyone leaves there bikes outside the door and they don't get stolen, but I still put on my vibration alarm and chain it. Just be wise!!!!
@@richardhunt3051 Thank you! very useful information
Welcome back home Richard.
@lisarobberts1090 thank you Lisa :)))
Awesome to find this channel. I am planning to ride from Jhb down to capetown via the eastern cape, about 2200km. How do you find safety on the roads?
@Dremansworld So far I have mainly kept to small towns and farming areas. The problem is in the large urban areas/cities and best to avoid them, or be extra wise, careful and alert. The N Cape is very safe and the people there are different to the other provinces in SA. Maybe stay away from parts of the E Cape and go thro the lower Karoo. I normally cycle back...gravel roads where possible.
@@richardhunt3051 thanks. The plan is small towns and gravel. To go places you don't on normal travels.
Great series. Loved watching each episode. Can't wait for the next adventure. You've inspired me to do some bicycle touring.
@denzilmanuel5593 .....great you are inspired. Whether it is for 1 day, 1 week or 1year, you gotta get out and get going....
Great slow ride taking in the view, give us a detail video on your bike set up for us to make sure if we want to ride we know what to pack
@@DanieOosthuizen-l1x Hello Danie. I plan to do a gear video of what I pack. Thanks for watching....
with regards to those idiots who show no regard for anyone by playing their music so loud and throwing rubbish all over the place, this is the norm with our brothers and sister who are now running this country into the ground unfortunately.
Where did you spend the night in Clarens Richard?
@mikesmit6663 hello Mike. Video part 20 is a follow up to video part 19, and in that video you will see me going to the Clarens Backpackers...
Nice. i stayed there when i went hiking in the Northern Berg
Very cool to meet fellow riders!! And we’ll done on speaking to them!!
@JC-kh1ut yes, during 5 months I saw 3 bikepackers doing a 4 day ride and 1 bikepacker doing a 5 week ride, so it's not common in SA to see other riders, as it is overseas.
Keep it up. Great going
Thank you, I will :)))))
Can anybody guide me, I paid the 30 day viewing sub but how do I get access?
@ronels1216 If you go to ko-fi.com/richardhuntadventures and find video part 19.....click on it and it will open if you have paid for 30 days. If it does not open please let me know....Richard
Thanks Richard, for some reason when I click on episode 19 it takes me to a 'Buy' page. It gives me a prompt to buy a coffee etc. I did get a confirmation of payment.
I managed to get in. Had some emails from kofo
@@ronels1216 great....shout if you have a problem :))

I'm really enjoying your videos & I love that you're a Christian _ your morning prayers are so precious 🙏 In agreement with them every time 🙏 God speed 🚴♂️
@Mairi-r5p thank you Mairi...blessings to you :)))
Petri van Zyl 😍 ... Seriously _ you're riding along in the middle of nowhere and this gorgeous hunk just stops to say 'Hi'. I live in London with approximately 5 million men... and I'm single. Man oh man, I wish it'd been me moseying along, minding my own business... meeting the man of my dreams in the desert 😂 Great vlogging btw - super enjoying your travels and seeing my beautiful 'soul' home! Much love from 🇬🇧 P.S - just in case I do ever find myself riding a bike in the middle of nowhere... Where exactly were you when this encounter took place 😉
Hi all you will notice there is a part 17 missing. Go to part 16 then you will notice what you can do to watch part 17. Richard if you can just remind everyone again how your channel will look from now on.
You are welcome to stay with us in Howick
Where is part 17?
Go to part 16 and read Richards comments.
Thanks Rodney...Richard. @rodneyfortuin7496
Love watching all your videos, you must try harder promoting your youtube channel my man😂😂
@@c-mandawg thanks for being part of the adventure :)))
this is a good video .Thanks for sharing and teaching us that the DGT is not easy. Are you guys going back to finish the business ? Pity didn't see the finish from the two members . Well done to all.
Another inspiration video Richard especially the part where you found peace. Loneliness is the pain of being alone, but Solitude is the joy of being alone😊
Great video, well done Richard
Hi Richard, been watching your videos. Sitting in Cambodia, I really miss those wide open spaces. Did a few trips with the bicycle through the karoo, nice to see familiar places. What tent are you using?
Thanks for watching and glad it brings memories. The tent is a Terra Nova/Voyager from England. The green color is great for Africa as it does not stand out and this tent is the best in galeforce winds by far!!
Hello from another South African in Cambodia!
Like your videos but not the dead animals .
Excellent video and well done to the Over 60's .I would love to do the DGT soon. I am 66 .
Baie dankie broer Richard.
Dankie Broer :))))))
I've been refreshing for over a week, hoping to watch you. At some point I was getting worried. Good to see you, Richard ❤❤
Thanks Pule...yes, good to see you too....we do need some refreshing rain:))
I'm watching all your videos carefully. I'm receiving something very lovely and positive energy. Your love for the countryside and the wilderness that you show reaches me, elevating the affection I hold for the earth. I try to be someone who loves nature and life and soil and air as delicately as you. I live in South Korea, a country that is very far from your country. That's why I like to explore Africa even more. This is because the landscape of the land is very, very different from ours. In Korea, the whole country is a mountain, and trees grow densely on every mountain. So people don't see the open plains. However, Africa often has endless stretches of wilderness. Especially the scenery of South Africa that I'm getting to know more about through your posts this time really gives me the feeling that I'm traveling with you. - By the way, this video doesn't have a caption function. I hope you make it possible. Please add a caption function. I pray that peace and health will always be with you.
Do visit, love to have you take pleasure in the vastness and all things favorable to you in my country South Africa.
Thank you friend for your very encouraging comments. I will google caption function as I don't know what that is. Glad you are also a carer of this magnificent earth we live on....be blessed :)))
You can do it Sir Hunt
I just love to see you go. You are an inspiration for me
