I was actually at the game in Phoenix that afternoon about eight rows back behind the net. A great moment that rivals being at game 5 in Vegas when the Caps clinched the Stanley Cup (three rows back). Talk about getting lucky with the games I've been able to attend while living away from DC.

If anyone can it's Ovi. Every single time I think about this I honestly just can not answer it. On one side I am a HUGE Ovi fan, (GO CAPS) andI feel my thoughts he will catch Gretsky's record are more so because I admire him so much as a great player/scorer. But the magnitude of the number makes me wonder. I do however feel Gretsky, who I have met, admire and am a huge fan of, couldn't match that record in todays hockey. Different time for goalies/scorers. I really believe Gretsky played a significant role in elevating goalies to where they are today, and in no way am I saying the goalies of the past were not sensational. Look at what they faced with little protection and still played amazingy hockey. I am an older fan who has enjoyed watching hockey all my life. I have been amazed at how great this sport really is and how the game has progressed while staying true to the sport. Blows me away hockey does't get the same coverage in the U.S. in any part as the other three majors do. It doesn't even garner as much attention in the U.S. as the long drawn out sport of soccer. (I live in the U.S. BTW) With all of that said...... GO OVI!!! GO CAPS!!!!!
