Ovechkin's(6 ft 3inch, 240lbs) slap shot has been clocked at just over 101 mph which is close to the hardest slap shot ever recorded at 108.9 mph by Zdeno Chara (6ft 9inch, 250 lbs). Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer ever. He’s 6’3” 240lbs, pure power. He’s 36 yrs old which is up there for a hockey player because of the wear on their bodies but he’s showing no sings of slowing down.
He has 780 career goals all with 1 team. He’s 3rd in all-time scoring and is chasing Gretzky’s record of 894. It would likely take him 3 more seasons to break it.

He's great, in that he has consistently scored a lot of goals, but guys like Gretzky and Brett Hull (his dad was a great scorer,
too) have scored a lot more goals in a season. Gretzky scored 92 goals. Hull about 86 goals. Mario Lemieux 85 goals. Ovechkin had 65 goals in a season. Up there, but not at the levels of those players and a few more.

When you account for era and how much scoring is down now compared to the 80's/early 90's, OV is right there. The league average was around 7-8 goals per game through the 80's/early 90's. The average has been around 5 per game over the last 20 years.

Ovechkin is a 3-time world champion, Stanley Cup winner and holds many world records. Also recognized in 2006 as the best NHL player in history, he was the Captain of the Washington Capitals team, then returned to Russia. Part-time and head of the general staff of the hockey club Dynamo Moscow, he returned to Russia. But in my opinion, he still plays for the club in America and is now even preparing for the new season. Generally an international player

    - most goals in a season in the salary cap era

imo check out Mario Lemieux || Career Highlights || 1984-2006, he was my all time favorite in the 90's multi stanley cup winners Penguins was an incredible era. His haymaker was opening up the goalies legs with a fakie to put it in the 5-hole (score shooting puck between the legs). The man is a technician.

So cool seeing people who ordinarily wouldn't watch NHL hockey (I think one of the guys said the only person they knew in the NHL was PK Subban) looking on at the highlights for the first time.

This video didn't even show how many big hits he has! Some goal scorers don't throw body checks as much and play a finesse game, but ovi does it all. All while potentially catching Gretzky's goal scoring record, which is absolutely insane, since the game has changed a lot

As nice a guy as you ever want to meet. He and his wife do a lot for DC. Particularly for kids. He is the biggest supporter of the oldest black hockey program for children at Fort Dupont in DC. When they won the Stanley Cup each player gets a turn taking it for a day. He took it to Fort Dupont celebrate with the kids.

Slapshots are typically anywhere from the 80s-nearly 110mph in the NHL. And the defensemen stand in front of those shots to block them. Been playing hockey for almost 25 years. Best thing in the world. Hardest Slap Shot is a competition every year for All Star Weekend.

If you would like to see more hockey videos. I suggest ones about Bob Probert. Also Bob Probert and Joey Kocer from the Detroit RED Wings in the 1990's. They were called the Bruise Brothers. The ones with Bob Probert are the best.

Ovechkin’s slap shot is pretty much the hockey equivalent of Curry’s 3-point shot. You know it’s coming but there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Even when they’re just standing still, the defense always has to be aware of where they are.

I,d say Ovi is in the top 10 greatest hockey players of all time, he's easily the greatest pure goal scorer of all time as well. Just about one of a handfull of russian hockey players i actually respect

Today, there are only 26 black NHL players. 20 are from Canada and 6 are from the USA. Ryan Reeves blowing a kiss when he played for the St. Louis Blues is one of my favorite moments for my team. He does not GAF, he's the enforcer on whatever team he's on. I'll always like him, unless he injures someone who didn't agree to it or deserve it.

Mcdavid is crazy to watch, so quick lots of finesse, he scores some of the most difficult and insane goals, he is the fastest player in the league. his teammate Leon Draisaitl has the best backhand passing in the nhl, has the second best slap shot in the Ngl behind only Alex Ovechkin. Leon works so well with mcdavid so good they got there own nick name The Dynamic Duo they were 1 and 2 in playoff points through the entire 4 rounds even tho they only played 3 rounds, plus the team they played in the 3rd round was the cup winners.

Wayne Gretzky’s net worth of 2020 to August 1 is $250 million. Alex Ovechkin‘s net worth of May 3, 2022 is. $80 million $10 million for each season. Alex Ovechkin is 36 years old I started learning how to play hockey by watching him I’m a left-handed person in hockey. But I play all my other sports of the white hand basketball football cricket badminton tennis all my other sports players on the right hand for hockey player laughter and it just like Alex Ovechkin

The fastest recorded ice hockey shot in any competition was a 110.3 mph (177.5 km/h) slapshot by Denis Kulyash (Russia) of Avangard Omsk in the Continental Hockey League's (Russia) All-Star skills competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 5 February 2011. Kulyash surpassed the previous mark of 105.4 miles per hour (169.7 km/h) by Zdeno Chara (Slovakia) of the Boston Bruins (USA) set during the National Hockey League's All-Star skills competition in Montreal (Canada) on 25 January 2009.
