    Love this, junk rods are the only thing I can make. Love you are using my official technical term…”smooshing”

      Lol. They are really fun to make and it gives you great experience with home the glass moves. Plus, each rod comes out different and unique which I love!

    I just sit back and watch! I like using my junk to make pendants because it’s such a random pattern

      Yes! I love seeing what comes out. It's either junk cane or the trash.

    This was a great video, I've been blessed with plenty of scrap from a teacher of mine. I cant wait to do different things with the cane!

    You answered my question I was going to ask you if you could turn it into a marble instead of a rod. I'd like to see you make a video of a pipe out of your homemade rods. I appreciate you making these videos. Even thought I don't blow glass yet I'm learning for when I do get the chance. Thanks again

      Hey Eric! Ok I'll add this to my video list. The best way to do this would probably be to coil pot the rods into a tube.

    When u make the stems for your kids, what do you then use for/as as goblet to then attach to the stem. I'm so new to this I'm pathetic.

      For goblets, I blow a bubble on the end of tubing and flame cut off where I want to form the rim. You can make the goblet and stem for whatever glass you want as long as it's the same type of glass. I use borosilicate in my shop which has a COE of 33. As long as the COE is the same, you're good to go. All the best! Sim

    Do u pop it into the kiln after all that?

    • @FusingShop
      @FusingShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeff! Yes, always anneal. There is a lot of stress in the glass after being melted together and twisted so definitely anneal.

      @@FusingShop thanks I did just that. I melted down a bong that broke, it worked perfectly. Now I have a rod of cobalt blue !

      @@jeffrey9102 Ah the magic of glass. I love how you can recycle it and how it melts together seamlessly. All the best! Sim

    Why no tweezers in the flame?

      the glass will sticek to them

      @@bucketsbotanicals8310 True, but they also release chemicals at high heat. Same process when you use silver or gold for fuming. Plus it ruins the tool.
