There was really nothing he could have done. His only other option was to take it into the vertical, but against a BF-109 that's tantamount to suicide.

The Sunderland fight reminds me of my crowning achievment in War thunder. I once took down a PBY, on my own, using only the single offensive 303 on the Blenheim bomber. Took bloody forever.

WarWolf 937 i wished mine were as good as him. The one i fly with always blames his plane or tank when it doesnt turn or gain speed or climb and once he gets killed the plane sucks. So like he always blames the game instead of learning from his mistakes. The P-40 doesn't suck, it turns well enough, is fast enough for 2.3. The F4U doesn't turn well he said, well duh ofcourse it doesn't, look at it's wings. He also always says his pilots sucks when the pilot loses consciousness whilst turning after a dive. You know what I mean with those type of players right?
something about the air combat is so majestic between experienced pilots, they they are the chess masters of the sky and i love the strategy involved in every minute :)

It's already a good move to go to altitude instead of fighting on the deck when flying the MiG-3. He had the right idea in bringing the fight towards his buddies, but I guess he either didn't tell them what he was doing or they were just the typical uncommunicative donkey teammates we all know and hate... that they ganged up 4 on 1 versus a He 112 is a big indication of them being "flying donkeys".
The I-16 made a mistake going for a high turn, but the Lagg-3 was just a complete asshole, running away with brown pants instead of following the MiG while climbing a bit to gain a better position to support.

Hi TBLF crew and random person in the comments. Happy Easter!. :). At 5:05 Bo kills the gunner with the quad .303. The dorsal gunner tries to shoot him through this his own plane. A 5:16 someone takes over the quad .303 mount and stats firing. I have 2 questions: Has Gaijin said anything about gunners shooting through their planes but causing no damage? Can gunners replace eachother like tank crew can and if so since when was this feature added in the game and why has no one said anything about it?
.303 gunners are just OP... I won't even go near a sunderland normally... same with the Halifax...

Bo, I've been using the standard flight controls and it's just not working out. Got any good keybind tips?
I usually just bind stuff where I have room for it :S
If I find i need more room for keybinds, i use esdf instead of wasd, so that i can use q, a and z with my pinky and reach 6 with my index more easily.
The default key template in the game is dumb, if you ask me. The default template I believe has the throttle on W and S, aileron on A and D and rudder on Q and E, with the throttle way over on Page Up and Page Down. So I use left Shift and Control for throttle, meaning that I can use W and S for the elevator, and leave aileron and rudder as is. That way by combining the mouse and keyboard I have full control over all the surfaces without having to move either hand, and can even fly single-handed with the keyboard while looking around with the mouse. Using the key bindings for the ailerons combined with the rudder gives a nice roll rate and by using the keys you can give full elevator input, great for really tight turns, as long as you don't rip your wings.
The elevator bindings are also handy for avoiding blacking out, when you've nearly blacked out just tap on the down elevator key quickly and the negative G it provides does a decent job of cancelling the blackout, without messing up the manoeuvre too much.
For secondary weapon controls like small machinegun fire, rockets, bombs, etc. I have a gaming mouse, so I just use buttons on there. Alternatively you can use 1,2,3 and so on, and R for rockets and space for bombs.
MIG-3s are ez to kill with the 109 E-3 in a bunch of ways

Put some 3x BF-109 E-3 from 1940 + He-112 from 1938 against bunch of commie planes from late 1942..Soviet think that their history looked like this..BS . At beginning of the Barabrossa - Soviet Air Forces in western sections of Soviet Union gathered bunch of I-15, I-16 type 10, I-153, and some I-16 type 18. Most MiG-3-15 were concentrated as a interceptors over huge cities area like Moscow or Leningrad. Yak-7B showed at battle of Moscow and Stalingrad, same as Yak-1, and Yak1b..In early stages of Barbarossa - soviet had to deal with BF-109 F-2, BF-109 E-7 (not with E-3 - they were moved to the training squadrons). At the end of 1941 German pilots recieved first BF-109 F-3, F-4 with 151/20mm cannons.
