Chuck Jackson !
Ladies and gentleman !
Chuck Jackson !
(Chuck Jackson)
Thank you !
Any day now
I will hear you say goodbye my love
And you'll be on your way
Then my wild beautiful bird,
You would have flown,oooo
Any day now, any day now
I'll be alone
I know I shouldn't wanna keep you
If you don't wanna stay
Until you're gone forever
I'll be holding on for dear life
Holding you this way
Begging you to stay
Any day now
When the clock strikes go, you'll call it off
You'll call it off, you'll call it off
And then my tears will flow
Then the blue shadows will fall all over town
Any day now, any day now
I'll be all alone
Ladies and gentleman !
Please welcome !

R&B singer Chuck Jackson, who placed nearly 30 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the 1960s, died on Feb. 16, 2023 at the age of 85. Jackson was born July 22, 1937, in Winston-Salem, N.C., spent his boyhood in Latta, S.C., then settled in Pittsburgh, Pa., at age 13. Best known for his 1962 hit “Any Day Now (My Wild Beautiful Bird),” which reached #2 on the trade magazine’s R&B chart and #23 on the Hot 100.
Jackson’s other popular hits included “I Don’t Want to Cry,” his first chart placement, from 1961 (#5 R&B); “I Keep Forgettin’,” a 1962 hit written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller; and “Something You Got,” a duet with Maxine Brown that peaked at #10 on the R&B chart.
Chuck was inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame, and won a Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.
As of now, 20 February 2023, neither the cause nor place of death have yet been revealed..
OMG! The voice on this man ! How did we go from this to Justin Bieber?
I was lucky enough to have seen him live several times at the annual Murray The K show in Brooklyn. I Don't Want to Cry, and Tell him I'm Not Home are also great songs by him. He was my hero back then and He is still fantastic!!
I was lucky enough to chat with Chuck and see him perform this live. He was 72 at the time and the voice was still as strong and beautiful as ever. Quite simply the best there has ever been.
Only a wonderful. Man sang a wonderful song
RIP, Chuck Jackson …🙏
one of the greatest songs of all time and he sounds just as great as when he first sang it!
It's great to see the deep respect that Wilson Pickett had in introducing Mr. Chuck Jackson...they are both geniuses!! Amazing voice on Chuck...WOW!!
CHUCK JACKSON (1937 - 2023)
Awsome performer
R.i.p another amazing talent gone .
I remember this stunning voice and song from the summer of 1962, when I was 13 and starting to stride along in the musical world that was becoming the phenomenal '60s. Right place, right age, right time. Starting with Lil' Richard in '55 (I was six!).
Oh boy...
So.... beautiful !
Like lots of people said, "now a day they don't make music like these anymore
REMEMBERING

Absolute legend ,just try and follow that today if you dare..✌️🌈
He has still got it
Chuck was always one of my favorites - he is too cool
To R.R. Rubin, this is a show that came on as a special back in 1988 at the Apollo called "Motown" returns to the Apollo....You can see the entire special of that show here on "TH-cam" including the performance of Little Richard after Chuck Jackson's performance..........
This is my Uncle Chuck Jackson who was married to my Aunt Helen.
I just found out today Chuck past away. I had no idea. I was thinking about his daughters Tracey and Robin and decided to look him up.
Great classic this song is....I like to watch Chuck's performance of this great classic at often times.........
He is flying on this song. I am captured and never really noticed him like this before but this man could sing and had melody 105 and inflection and poise and THEATRE and is sharp.
Marvelous voice--grand stage presence! Fabulous song!
The Great Chuck Jackson, Dynamite.... Go Chuck go!
Love the part of the video where they did'nt quite recognize the name, but, the minute he opened his mouth, he knocked them out!! One of the greatest songs from one of the greatest voices I ever heard...
timeless classic . great voice
Wonderful entertainer!
Beautiful voice......Thanks for uploading
One of my favorite all time songs! Love the original record. Brings back such memories! Stunning voice!!
What a performer, this classic Chuck Jackson , singing his big hit song!
Qué voz! Excelente
People dressed nice in those days because they respected themselves and others............!!!!!!!!!!!
what can you say to that ............apart from pure absolute genius !
This is anyone who has ever been with someone who you knew after awhile that they were not going to stay.
And when feelings have died, there`s nothing you can do about it. Just let her go. But Chuck expresses so forcefully the anguish of the lover who is about to go through the abandonment and rejection.
the man still has it
80s looked so fun
They should sell this Motown Returns to the Apollo special on DVD....so many people would buy it!
So special, wish i can find him,I met him when i was 18,and he was so kind,I met @ Howard theater 55yrs ago.Mr chuck were are you.
I remember dressing for dinner sometimes at home and always when we went out and always when we got together for holidays. I long for the old days!
The best
just the best
RIP
Another classic oldie but goodie!!💃💃
I remember listening to Chuck Jackson singing this song on KRLA Los Angeles years ago on a small transistor radio late at night right here in Lindsay California. That Pasadena Radio Station had great soul music.
I AGREE 100%
I dont understand how Chuck and Tom Jones never did a collab. Their voices were other worldly in their prime. That would have been an awesome duo, much like Sammy Davis Junior and Anthony Newly.
R.I.P.
I know what you mean, I long for them days too!!!!!!!!!!!
Rest in peace Chuck. So sad to hear that you have passed away.
Chuck Jackson. Great singer!!!. Tom Jones, studied this guy's singing style.
Phenomenal
@MrGeter76......You are so right!!! LOL because this song was Chucks hit in 1962 when Luther Vandross was 11 yrs old! hahaha.... these young people just don't know. As crusher1944 said, the entertainers knew how to dress and present themselves respectfully too! Knowing Chuck personally, I can say he was ALWAYS a gentleman on and off stage. He's truly a kind hearted, decent person.
Someone wrote that this is a Luther Vandross cover. Wrong, if Luther recorded the song, he did the cover. You are listening to the originator of the song--Chuck Jackson.
No Elvis did the Cover
As did Ronnie Milsap
Say, anyone know if there is a vid of Little Richard's performance which started right after Chuck gave up the stage......hopefully I will here from you any day now.
ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO FIND HIM OR HIS AGENT?
any1 know what yr that was
1985
its a burt bacharach song. Sorry. Great version though am not a fan of his recorded version.
Tom Jones took a lot from this man!
If michael Jackson wasent brainwash by his Father ,about his colour and nose ,He would be alive today .look at chuck Jackson handsom blackman ,He didnt do a tham thing to himself .
Tom Jones has NOTHING on this man.
Tom Jones could move, he was not a great dancer.
Yep. Tom Jones studied his singing style.
