    16:22 This changed my life. I video cars and trucks as they pass by me and start the opacity mask where the license plate becomes visible. But it does not track well from this angle. So after watching your video. I updated the mask manually until the car was far enough away the plate was more rectangular. And clicked "track selected mask forward" from THAT point. That will save me all kinds of time. The mask tracking was only having problems as the plate was small and distorted. Thank you.

      @@Graphicious I did notice with adobe 2023 that it's starts to process then stops. Most of the time it doesn't even start. I quit and start the whole program again and it starts a little then stops or doesn't even start. It's not a system usage issue. cpu & memory aren't being used much. any ideas?

      Not sure what to suggest, it's probably something to do with the file format or resolution maybe? Premiere can be weird sometimes.

    Hi, thanks for your video. Is it possible to apply the mask to just a specific part of the timeline when you press play? Let´s say just for 1min.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you just remove the keyframes for the portions you don’t want and turn the intensity of the effect to 0 before the first keyframe and after the last

      @@Graphicious Perfect, thanks!

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Another way is to cut and isolate the segment you want to apply the tracking/blurring to, and just apply to that. Use the Blade tool.

  • @ChrisMenardTraining
    @ChrisMenardTraining 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome video. Do you know if this is possible in camtasia?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm afraid not. Camtasia does have blurring of specific areas, you can even animate those and make them follow the video but it is a manual process or, at best, good for linear movement. Camtasia doesn't have tracking. It wasn't built for this kind of processing.

    Thanks! Was a lot harder on my footage, so had to adjust most frames (maybe the colour of the car and numberplate weren't different enough).
    I would like to know though, how do I get rid of the blur on frames it's not needed for? I did the play forward tracking, and need to remove the mask from a certain point.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add a couple keyframes before and after the area you need excluded and turn the blur off in that interval.

    at 8:22 you can see that the mask is in the video waiting for the car to show up, is there a way to hide the mask until the car shows up?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see what you're saying. I didn't notice that. I guess you could slice the clip on the part where you don't want the mask and the tracking and simply remove them from it.

    • @Arman2Dito
      @Arman2Dito 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Graphicious That is a good idea, what I ended up doing is using keyframe to turn the blurriness down to 0% before the car came into the shot and then it went back up when it was being tracked but I think your idea would have been easier.
      Thank you for this video, it was very helpful and thank you for replaying so quickly to my question.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Arman2Dito Glad it worked out! I was going to suggest also turning the blurriness down on the keyframes but it sounds a little more fiddly than simply cutting the clip.

    im having the issue where the masked blured area just stays live on the video through out - even after the numberplate

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to stop the blur effect when you're done with it. There are a couple of ways to do it:
      - You can set the last keyframe to have zero blur.
      - Or you can just cut the clip there and then on the resulting piece of the clip you just remove the blur effect because it's applied on a clip basis.

    good work,
    is that possible to add some text while car running on that car
    like as car branding with logos and texts or a name on number plate area?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you can but not in Premiere. You need to track the video / object and then anchor an object (logo/text) to that tracker. You need After Effects for that, as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/Lg4ezHnuuRE/w-d-xo.html

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's odd, it works for me, I just tested it in the latest version of Premiere. Make sure your playhead is at the point where you want to start tracking. If your playhead is at the start of the clip, pressing the tracking will re-track the entire duration. If your playhead is at the position where it goes wrong, it will then only track from there and generate new keyframes.
      I had a situation where the tracking (I was tracking a plane in the air), was attaching itself to clouds, so for a few frames, until it went past that point, I manually adjusted the mask, and kept trying the re-track after that to the end of the clip. After a few adjustments and attempts, it managed to correct the tracking for the remainder of the clip.
