Truck Camping Salt Springs (Blue Crabs Catch n' Cook)
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 11 ก.พ. 2024
- Two days of truck camping in Salt Springs Florida in the Ocala National Forrest. The goal of this trip was to catch Blue Crabs and cook them up for dinner. This campground is in the middle of the state and the last place I would have thought to catch Blue Crabs.

These camping videos of yours are my favorite JC!! Beautiful prayer too. Jesus Christ is Lord, enjoy His creation 🙏❤️💯 🐟 🎣 🦀
Amem. And remember, Jesus is coming back soon! The signs of His coming is each day more clear. God bless you and let's await for our savior. #Jesussaves
@@VivendonaAmericaBrasil watching and waiting everyday brother or sister in Christ 🙏
Lifting the stress from the shoulders with these videos, JC. Thanks so much. You're the best.
Nothing like watching a happy fisherman who loves the Lord having the time of his life! Bless you JC! The best part of the steak is the marrow!
Bro, If a Manatee swimming over your crab line is your biggest concern of the day, I think you're gonna be okay. : ]
When me and my wife first got together we camped at salt springs 2 or 3 times a month. They call site 160 the honeymoon suite lol. I met some folks that had a bear go through they're tent on that site while they were gone. We live in Summerfield about 40 miles away from there. You should fish Crystal River while your here. It's pristine
One of the grounds keepers there called it the honey moon suite, ha ha...Thanks for watching and commenting.
I enjoy all your videos and have been a sub for a number of years. This particular video is one of your best. Thanks for putting all the time and effort into making them.
That's the way to eat breakfast no fuss no mess and it looked so good.
Yes!! Finally another video!!!
Woooowoooo!! The kids and I are having fun watching! Thank you!👍🏼👍🏼
God bless
Hey JC, now you've really done it! That's where we used to camp as a family 35 years ago, and guess what, we used to try to get that site #160 every time! Thanks for the blast from the past brother, Salt Springs is truly a magical place, and a special place to me personally. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. God bless you bro! I miss Florida..
This just looks like a dream camping trip, awesome video JC cant wait to see you out there one day!
Awesome video! Moving to Florida from Michigan this summer and your videos keep me sane till i can get out of the cold. Keep it up! Love the truck camping. Great Job JC!
I remember when 75 was only 2 lanes...
Time flies and there's more of everything except what matters these days.
I remember when 75 ended in Tampa near Fowler Ave. only way south was 41/301.

It's wild, huh? I went to Orlando for the first time since 1990 and was in complete shock. I'm in Panhandle and we complain about growth, but ours is nothing like any of that. I don't really like leaving Central Time Zone in Florida...
@@GardenerEarthGuy wow Orlando Kissimmee has changed drastically since 90’ Rick Scott killed the plans for the high speed rail that was planned along I4 during his first term as Governor. Now they want to do it again.
@@Kevinw4040 then this last summer we road tripped to The Great Lakes, hadn't been in Atlanta since before the Olympics- that was shocking. Pensacola is small, like it like that!
Hey buddy...I used to have a friend in Calhoun County, FL. He used to tell old tales from back in times. Good old times though. I missed a lot my friends that I have to leave in FL. God Bless.
Thanks for the invite JC lol
You can tell that manatee has been fed by humans. Perhaps when it was allowed by the state.
He's following me😅😅😅
Wow, I have 2 full-size diesel pickups and a 29-foot bumper pull camper .all paid for. And I love what you do. And I NEVER take time to enjoy them. That's going to change. Love the videos. God bless and keep you safe always 🙏
Awesome camping video once again JC. Loved it. Blue crabs are delicious and look even better when you have a camping video. Awesome that you pray and give thanks to our Lord and savior. Thank you for your hard work JC. 👍🏻👍🏻🤙🏻
Yessss!!!! Thanks JC your the best..
btw biting the meat out of the crab claws is exactly how I was taught to eat crab in China.. very cool
You're much closer to my neck of the woods now brother! I'm glad you see the beauty in the Lord's creation like we do! Totally different feel of Florida
DUDE we were so stoked to see you camping in our neck of the woods!!! I hope you enjoyed yourself out here! Isn’t the forest a beaut? We went down to your area recently, rad reeler was a constant subject of conversation!
Thanks for watching. I'll be back for some Blue Crab revenge!
Wow Weeee !!! JC... that looked amazing a nice T-Bone steak ,I love chewing the meat off the bone too ,,,and the Crab looks incredible,,,Funny I never tried them ...Guess I'll have to get some chicken parts.... Thanks for sharing Brother...God Bless
#160 will have a 2 year wait now lol. Great time camping I appreciate the time you put into these videos. Edit- you could’ve had s’mores for desert.
I clean my blue crabs before steaming with old bay . And remove them promptly to prevent overcook and waterlog. See if you can make an old fashioned wire mesh net .I have a detachable handle one that will fit down inside my steamer.😎 Its less resistance in the water and less scary to the quarry. Happy crabbing.
that Toyota Tundra is bulletproof. My 06 has 413,xxx and runs like a champ. Keep making awesome videos JC 😎
Great video JC...tks for answering my question incognito...lol
Living the dream, happy camper ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏👍🤜🤛☕☕☕☕☕☕
Buddy, u live in the most beautiful state of the US. I love Florida though. lol I remember back in times when i used to travel to FL. Good old times. Riding along the Florida roads, is the best thing ever to do, specially during winter when there is no one, or at least a few bunch of people traveling. And always avoiding the landmarks.
I envy you, my friend ...
you're so blessed to camp and fish at your leisure ❤
You should've toured/walked by the actual spring (the other side of the buoy from where you were at) and watched all the crabs by the spring (I don't think you can catch the crabs in that area). They're a plenty and about the size, if not bigger, than the ones you caught. The area where you were at is usually filled up with boats during the summer.
That local input sounds more like people who were trying to discourage you from catching their crabs.😉
Crack the claw just behind the pincher and you need to try a different color net. They see that thing coming a mile away.
Love the truck camping vids!!!
I really enjoy your videos, but the manatee thing.. That is truly the experience of a lifetime for many of us. What an amazing opportunity!
Enjoyed the trip JC! I love that area. The manatees were cracking me up. I used to launch my kayak at that marina and they charged a $5 launch fee and free parking. Couldn't believe it when I went last year and they were charging $20 to park!
Those bears hear those pans clanging and know theres pickineck goodies on the way, Manatees wont bother you, lol Lay flat crab net,
Thank you 🙏 JC for another video God Bless you
You made me hungry for CRAB!
Keep up the good work JC!
Love the truck camping
Nice job catching those crabs. Ever try Old Bay seasoning with those crabs? Hey, you can’t beat melted butter.
Thanks for watching. Yes I've cooked them in Old Bay. I used a crab and shrimp boil mix on these.
Love ya videos JC. Keep em coming. You are great too.
Get some foldable traps and kayak from one to the other...might yield more. Great video JC! 👍
JC, dont forget considering a truck camping in Tomoka state park. dont worry, i dont live there LOL
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MANATEES♥️
Loved this video, keep it up JC!
Enjoyed the video
AWESOME as always jc. 👍👍👍
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude I already know
Great camping video!
Now those are nice.
Awesome, Thumbs up !!!
Having a good time
I really enjoy your videos keep them coming buddy!!B safe out there.
Great job catching the crabs!
I freaking love your videos!!! I did want to recommend the Brew Buddy for your coffee. Waaaaaaaaay easier to make coffee and takes up as much space as a koozy lol
Great video, good job sir! Your a cool dude! I’ll be watching this again
Nice video, feeling warm watching your crabs festa treat. Keep on JC. ❤
I love your videos, u da man😊
Come to Martin County... we'll fish!
Along with the crabs try the shrimp.
Enjoyed the video. You need to get you a portable fridge and keep in the back of your truck.
I love your truck camping videos J.C.
Hey J.C. I would love to get some of your Rad reeling stickers.
I don't sell stickers, teespring.com/rad-stuff @@sayuridoyle1151
If that tundra has the 4.7 L V8 make sure you change the timing belt
Thanks for letting me know. Its the 4.7 and I had it changed when I got it. The person I got the truck from didn't have any information on when the belt had been changed.
Another great video, JC!
This may have been asked before, but why don’t you put a couple hydraulic arms on your camper door? It will help keep it open when climbing in and out. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a degree of Old School Coolness with the “stick method”, but the hydraulic arms might be an option when your hands are full.
Do it in April you'll love it
Awesome video JC boy Toyota should be sponsoring you with the Yoda in play. Come on Toyota!!!
Tundra for the win! 💪🏻
I'm your new biggest fan traded in my fishing jet ski for a kayak with trolling motor and stabilizers so I can do ocean fishing mostly. I bought a suv tent and 2 puptents for gear. In 2 months I'm off work for 6 months and bought a state park annual pass. Already booked 2 day excursions 2 weeks apart at Sebastion state park in Oct for the mullet run. 2 cars allowed come join me campsite 17 3 and 4 Oct and i'll be there 14 and 15 Oct campsite 59. Also have 2 reservations at jetti park port canaveral in the other 2 weeks of Oct
That manattee is so cute
What a beautiful place, please. Can you tell me where this is in Florida? When I'm going to Florida, I can play here. Thank you very much!❤
You need to get your net ready way before you pull the crab all the way up to the surface
Florida is one of the best God's creation on earth. I can tell you.
Those raccoons taste so good. You should eat one some time
Wow that looks fun. Does the Bay area not hold blue crabs this time of year?
The crabs swim faster than your small mesh cotton fiber net can move. Get a net with large 1 inch holes. Avoid nets made with cotton fibers, they move too slow in the water. Nylon type fibers are faster in the water. I've even seen home made netting made of chicken wire! They move real fast in water and are an old style country design. Also the crabs won't tangle up in the metal mesh. 😇
Would like to join you camping and catching crabs.

Hey Skipper
My mom and brothers live up there. It’s a great area!
Thanks for watching. Yes, it's very nice in Ocala for sure. Do you know when the best time is to target the blue carbs?
@@RadReelingFishing that I don’t know off hand my brother primarily bass fishes up there. But my moms boyfriend is a Ocala native I could see if he knows.
Awesome idea again I love crab I might have to go and try this where is the best place to get crab dinner from Tampa to Venice
Red Lobster
Agree with you on the bone of tha steak, Meat closest to it is the best. Not sure I would be hoping the bear came by though. More of a man than I am JC.
how have manatees survived so long being as curious as they are. That doesn't normally go well when you're living in wild.
I seen a lady, zip tie her chicken legs to a net that you could just drop to the bottom of the water, and then lift up slowly, chicken, net and crab!🦀
I prefer crab meat to lobster ! 👌
Also what’s the name of the tent you have? And where did you get it? I love that it’s off the ground
It's a great tent. Ozark Trail Cot Tent, I ordered it from the Walmart website a few years ago. th-cam.com/video/H3qy58B_HbE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CJ-fVcL6sOhbhU5v
There’s a reason they misguided you we don’t like outsiders, and we sure don’t want a whole bunch of people just going in there over fishing 😂😂😂
I hope you enjoyed your time there is a amazing place I enjoy your content good job
I have a house just southwest of salt springs
Never eaten blue crab, do they taste like a normal crab or so they have their own distinct flavor? Great video, I sure miss my home state :(
similar to snow crab
aloha n mahalo 4 sharing
How do you sleep in the back of the truck with no air condition? We got stuck doing that when it was downpouring and we were dying of heat.
Nice do they taste like lobster crab is the only crustacean I’ve never ate
different
Roll the crab legs with a bottle...
Watch is your edc in that holster?
9mm Sig P365
Take them back to the restaurant give then a few bucks like a 20 and see if they will make you a crab cake now that's camping
Scoop a little faster👍
I just called that place today. The lady told me you cannot go crabbing if youre camping. This didnt make sense. I understand you cannot catch them IN the park but you can take a kayak away from the swim area. She told me to go to the Marina nextdoor. What gives ?
you can launch your kayak from the campground and then literally go 300 feet away from the park, that's where I was. Don't launch at the marina, it's too expensive.
Yes i was thinking the same BUT when i asked they told me i cannot bring crab traps into the park.@@RadReelingFishing
They also told me that i need to be camping and actually spend the night there.@@RadReelingFishing
@@MarkTwain-my3zt That's correct.
Don't mistaken manatee for a mermaid 😍
You have the wrong net!u need a crab net bigger holes scoop quicker.
i agree
kayaks is for playing get a boat
You be better use chicken neck sir
Amen! 🙏
