Lambani embroidery is practised by the Lambanis in Sandur, Karnataka, near the historical town of Hampi. Colourful patches of cloth are joined by different types of stitches and embellished with mirrors and seashells to make bags, wallets, cushion covers, sarees and home decor accessories. Lambani embroidery has earned Sandur a Geographical Indications (GI) tag.
