    This is my favorite song from CCR. They don’t have a bad one. I’m 60 years old. I remember sitting in our living room at 8 years old with my dad listening to CCR. My dad introduced me to such great music. CCR, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker and so many more. Thanks for bringing back such great memories!!

    I had two buddies during school time.
    One loved Alice Cooper, the other loved CCR, and I loved The Who music.
    Ones a week we had a music night,playing our vynils on turns.
    So I know all the golden oldies from Alice Cooper and CCR. This one allways got me , loved it.
    Thanks Guys, brings back memories.
    Cheers from the Netherlands. 😁👍👊

    So many great CCR songs. It is too bad they did not have a longer run together. Long as I Can See the Light is another great one by CCR, simple and soulful.

    First heard C.C.R. as a sixteen year old in the summer of 1970. "Bad Moon" was a big big hit here in the U.K. and it was Fogerty's voice that drew me in and I've been listening to them ever since...sublime band 👍🇬🇧

    John Fogerty is a national treasure. He taps into Americana like few other songwriters can. He did a very interesting series of remakes of his classic songs during the lockdown portion of the covid pandemic, played from his home either outdoors on his patio or inside in a studio, with his kids and grandkids as backing musicians.

    If you guys like the sort of change of pace in this song, try out "It's Just a Thought," from same late CCR period. A really good smooth and meaningful record.

    Great song great band! I hope as fellow Northern Californians, you guys do "Lodi" next when you react to CCR as, unlike most reactors some of whom have covered the track, you guys know where Lodi is and you also know where El Cerrito, CA (CCR's hometown) is. The track "Lodi: also has an underlying message to it, just like "Someday Never Comes..."

    I caught this track much later after I thought I’d heard all the great CCR songs. I’m older now and this song is powerful. John Fogerty’s parents divorced when he was young. He wrote this song for his own children when HE was divorcing his own wife. You can hear all the mixed emotions in his vocals. He’s the victim and the perpetrator. Heavy vibes in this tune.

    I worked as a roadie and rigger for years for all sorts of bands. One old hand I worked with had been on the road since the late 60s and he told me that he never knew a band who hated each other as much as CCR.

      @humpy936 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn’t put much faith in an old roadies stories, most of them are just that “stories”, it’s a known fact that at the end they weren’t getting along but hate?, I don’t think so.

    Great reaction guys! I had forgotten this gem from Creedence. I heard this many times in my youth, so the song is embedded in my brain. But I have not heard it for so long. As soon as the song started, my brain said: "Yes! I've been waiting for this!" Thank you!

  • @stevedahlberg8680
    @stevedahlberg8680 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    This is one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs and it nearly makes my allergies act up every time, it's so powerful and it's such an incredible song musically.
    And those were not rim shots at the end like you guys were talking about, those are rim clicks, where you use the butt of the heel of your left hand holding the butt end of the drum stick as the fulcrum of a lever, and then you click somewhere in the upper end of the drumstick down on the metal rim to make a clicking sound of wood and metal together.
    A rimshot is where you pop it loudly near the very edge of the snare next to the rim where the drum skin is at its tightest, and get this incredibly piercing short gunshot kind of sound, and it's one of my favorite sounds with the drum kit.

    CCR was such a unique band. Nobody else sounds like them, even if JF wasn't the lead singer their instrumentation is also very different. I'd love it if you would react to their cover of "Heard it Through the Grapevine". In one of your reactions you mentioned that their songs are too short. They have some great jams in "Heard it Through the Grapevine" and it isn't a short song. It will feel too shorr though.

    • @timjc4344
      @timjc4344 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      “Ramble Tamble” is another one of CCR’s longer songs, albeit without vocals.. still a great jam!
      You’ve probably already noticed that Airplay Beats (La & Che) have recently reacted to Emerson, Lake, & Palmer (“ELP”) after an 8-month “hiatus”: as they will soon find out if they continue to explore ELP’s catalog, much of Their music is quite lengthy.. hence the reason(s) why much of it never “hit the airwaves” back in the 70’s when it was created, due to “radio format(s)” being more attuned (commercially 🙄) to “standard-length” 3:30-4:30 minutes long songs. If one wanted to “deep dive” ELP’s catalog they either had to buy Their vinyls, &/OR go to one of Their concerts. I managed to do both, but admittedly (to my superficiality? 🤔) I never fully “got it” with a lot of Their music.. however, I was a huge fan of Their standard-length radio-friendly stuff.
      Hopefully La &/or Che will drop in on our conversation.. I’d love to hear more CCR, & some more ELP too! 😀

    From John Fogerty: "Every parent tells their child 'someday.' 'Gee, daddy, can we go fishing?' 'Yeah, someday.' My parents divorced when I was young and I ended up divorcing from my first wife. The song is basically me talking about how it happened to me when I was young and here I go doing the same damn thing. It's sad. I wanted to express what a kid feels, 'Someday Never Comes.' I wished we had played the music a little stronger, I wished I really would have gotten what I wanted."

    All dad's or mum's for that matter, who say, someday you will understand. Sorry no, you never get over your parent giving up on you or the family and walking out. All you can do, is be a better parent and hang in there, no matter how hard it gets. It does effect your kids when you leave and then don't look back. If you have to leave, please stay close to your kids, be in their lives for every important moment, be interested in them and let them feel your love. If you want to hear a heart breaker about the subject, suggest you listen to "Father of Mine" by Everclear.

    Creedence does a "version" of one of the greatest Johnny Cash songs ever. It's called "Don't Look Now." The thing is, it's NOT a Johnny Cash song. It's actually a CCR original. Fogerty EMBODIES the essence of Johnny Cash in that song; lyrically and spiritually. I encourage any fan of CCR to check it out.

    CCR was big when I was playing in garage bands in high school. We loved the simplicity of the songs and covered them all. But the vocals presented a big problem. John's "Bayou Sound" was simply impossible to cover. And many tried. John is a great songwriter with a one-of-a-kind voice. Unique to this day. Thanks for exploring CCR.

    Great song. Unfortunately, sort of the last hurrah. The band were on their last legs at this point. Tom Fogerty had quit. They weren't around that much longer. Lots of bad blood carried over. John Fogerty was sued by CCR for writing a song for a solo album that sounded too much like a song he wrote for CCR. The publishing rights were held by the CCR, not John Fogerty.

      Your totally wrong, the record-company of CCR, Fantasy Records had all the rights of the songs & music. Somewhere around 1965 the four members signed with this label "a contract" When in 1967 a new CEO named Saul Zeants took over the company, the CCR boys decided to go full professionel and changed their name into CCR and the succes started. After a while the CCR members asked for a new contract (would be around late 1970) Saul Zeants didn't want to change at all, so that thing from 1965 was all they got. From that moment on it started the story of how (and why) you kill the chicken with the golden eggs.For John Fogerty is was even harder he was the creator of the songs & the music.
