Tip. When walking into a Gogo bar in Thailand or any bar for that matter and the girls approach you that you don't really fancy or ask you to buy them a drink. Smile and Politely tell them you still looking and they will get the picture and leave.
After watching this , it turned out to be my wake up call. I met a woman on Thai Cupid and believed a young woman at 27 could fall for a 60 year old man. What a “fantasy” I was wrapped up in. Thanks Peter, you saved me a world of emotional and potentially financial pain!!..

The taxi for arrival by going upstairs to the departure area has been forbidden for quite a few years now more than 4? There are one way circular gates that prevent one from catching an outbound taxi who has just let off a customer. This was done because in the arrival area there is an extra 50 baht tax and most taxis wait hours for a customer and they don’t appreciate line skipping.
Great video, thanks for sharing your experiences. I have been in Thailand twice so far but I have never come up with such a great analogy, like you said. Its a fantasy land. And it's so true. Don't mix it with a real life otherwise you will feel miserable after your holiday
This is such a great video. Thank you so much. I originally found your videos as I speak an Asian language, am doing a mater's degree and looking for places I might go and teach for a year. Hi Tracy, it's just as much fun for girls as it is for the girls. Great country to visit nice people, great culture and good food. Good advice Peter. I’ve used a prebooked limo service to get from Don Muang to Pattaya a couple of times now (once flying in from Cambodia, once from Burma). Around 1200 to 1400 baht from memory. Happy to not have any hassle and taxis from DM can be a bugger. When travelling into Bangkok From Suvarnabhum I grab a taxi ticket from downstairs. The price is fixed (except for a tip) and I just don’t want to haggle with people after a long flight.
Top Tips Pete. My first night I bought loads of drinks for me and a bar girl (and her mates) and I was very drunk. When I paid up and left very late I was surprised the bar girl walked out with me ….. I was knackered and drunk and thought she was after me for extra service and money. I told her I just wanted to go home and sleep ….. so she asked me why I had paid her bar fine then??????? I didn't even know I had and didn't know what a bar fine was anyway. And I didn't really fancy her anyway. I still have no idea how much I spent that night but it must have been close on £150 and I only went out for a couple of beers as I was tired from the travelling.
Sorry if I missed it, but always carry a copy of your passport (not the original), and if you are going to Pattaya a company call Bell Travel has bus service from the airport to a lot of the hotels for a very reasonable price.
Here's an arrival tip: go down and take the Airport Rail Link to Bangkok, 35 thb and then you take a taxi for 60 thb to your hotel from Makkasan station. Also never buy any sim cards in the airport since they charge a lot more. It's cheaper to go to a truemove shop in a mall and add 250 thb budget to the sim that gives you additional free data on topping up. It's enough to last your holiday and doesn't expire after a week.
That's fine if you don't have a suitcase, a laptop and hang luggage, most people who visit Thailand go for at least several weeks, myself included there's no way I would lug all that on a train just to save a couple of hundred baht! When arriving I go up to departures and get a taxi into town for 300 baht, job done.
When I was living there in the early 2000's, I had a friend who brought a bargirl home with him, invited her to move in with him, and then decided after a few weeks that things weren't working out. When he told her she had to move out, she grabbed a knife in her hand and held onto the blade. He grabbed the knife out of her hand, which cut her hand, and she smeared her blood all over every single item of clothing he had, and everything in the apartment, walls, stove, mirror, etc. It looked like someone had been brutally killed in his apartment. Lesson: Don't invite a bargirl to move in with you, because you may not like the breakup scene.

Some really good tips for me when I get there it'll be my first time going there I was planning on going there in the new year see how things change with the covid problem will they allow us fly there..... As I left comment on one of your other stories I have learned from her....but learning alit more from you.....the women you have ( met ) there must be Unbelievable bedroom stories.... Roll on Thailand..... Let's be having you... I'm loving n the taxi business here in Ireland & I was talking with another taxi guy & all the years I no him I didn't no he was going over to patatya for the last few years....he showed me some photos & videos of the girls stunning they are( I JUST CANT WAIT TO GET OVER THERE ) it can't come quick enough.....
Pattaya is a fantastic town and you will think you've died and gone to heaven if you've never been there before but honestly, I don't think it's going to happen until at least the middle of next year and will it be the same? I doubt it, many of the bars are closing they just can't sustain this long lockdown... but the Thai's are resilient, where somebody fails, somebody else will open up
My first Time in thailand, was at the age of 25 in 2005. I arrived in Bangkok (from Canada) at 1am Bangkok Time, after a 24hour flight, with 0 reservation of any kind lol. No smart phone back then... I ended up making a friend at the airport (frenchmen) and I followed him in à taxi. During the drive, my new « friend » and the taxi driver got into a hudge argument because the driver would not start the meter lol almost crashing the taxi on the freeway (was not laughing then... lol ) I stayed 100 days in thailand at the Time (2 visa run + a few overtay days with a fine and a temporary ban from the country). During that time (Best of my Life) I ended up making all the newby mistake and spend about 10 Time the budget ( from 3k to 20k... crazy I Know.. lol ) came with money, went back with a hudge credit card dept and lots of Fun memory... dozen of great memorys... Now at 38 years old, I dream of retirering over there at 50 years old. But if thailand is too extensive I Will go retire in vietnam or cambodia, going in thailand on occasions. I went back in thailand last year with my wife, loved it (not the same trip then before when I was single... but still loved it)
You’re my research. I plan on coming in April or may 2024. For 2 or 3 weeks. After hotel and plane ticket my budget will be $2000 USD. I better bring $3k.
Girls will usually carry some latex-like protection with them but it may not fit you. It is not so much the length but the girth. Have a good look at what's available in your home country. You'll see that the difference is mostly the girth and some are actually the same length. If you are a slim bloke then no worries. If you are more substantial in girth then bring your own if you don't want that choking sensation or even not being able to fit into what she offers.
I have to disagree with this comment because every seven eleven in Thailand stocks Durex and they also have a large size. I haven't bought them myself but I couldn't help but see them as they are always next to the cash register.
I would put my money into a small pouch with a padlock(on the zipper) or a sealed envelope before I put them inside the room safe. The hotel staff actually have a master key which they can override all the room safe even if U have set your password. They probably won't take all your money but just a few pieces without U noticing it.....
Im in Phuket at the Mo Peter,I live here but normally Ha sip Ha sip England Thailand,The Hollywood disco in Bangla road Patong at the Mo is offering drinks for 3 hours@ 229 baht, the place is full of girls every night going rate 600 baht S/time,So there will be a massive reset in the Girlie bar economy here when things return to some normality, for us guys here at the mo supply has taken over demand so we are being pretty ruthless.but alls fair in Love and War eh...
Wow, I might have to come there instead of Pattaya. In Pattaya they've actually raised barfines and ST prices because the girls would rather do live videos feeds for drinks. This is all according to TH-cam vloggers...I thought it was going to be a reset there too.
Some very good tips here, although I am not sure about arriving without a booked cab. The service I use from the airport to Pattaya costs 1000, including all tolls and: no speeding, no stopping for fuel or smoke breaks, working aircon that is actually switched on, prepaid card for the tolls so they don't have to stop and can fly through and all women drivers. I have tried just arriving without prebooking before and for me it is always a much worse and much more expensive experience than prebooking one. Besides who wants to start bartering with taxi drivers after a 12 hour flight?
@@ThailandBound Thank you for the Videos I go to cancun and Tulum and defintly would have done a prebooked cab before your videos as that is standard in those places generally if you dont want to pay insane amounts
All good advice, helpful for beginners. Just to add a comment about the room safe... some of these safes display your secret number for a few seconds after yiu inpit it. If someone else is in the room, make sure she doesnt look over your shoulder. One of my friends lost a lot this way. Im sure some of the girls know about this. Usually bar girls will not rob you beacause you xan go back to her bar and complainm. Street walkers are a bigger risk.
There are excellent taxi services with less risk than talking to the Thai taxi drivers at Bangkok airport. Depending on where you go you should do a quick TH-cam search but you will be paying the same with a tip and a happy driver instead of a potential scam price. For Pattaya its always 1500 thb for but then the taxi will stop along the way to fill u the tank etc. on your time. I like to use the once that u pay 1200 thb and they drive all the way.

At the Bangkok airport, in the basement, Super Rich gives the best rates for exchange and are open most of the time except in the middle of the night. I suggest changing all of your money there as you won't do better.
@@ThailandBound True, but it is so close to the taxis that it isn't much of a detour. It won't be a while until people are using the airport again, however.
The main tips I'm looking for is how to prepare for that long ass flight. Should i stay up the day before so i sleep mostly or what? Should I take straight flight or break it up? First class has gotta be the way to take a day long flight, do they have beds? Should I pack a lunch? What's the probability of bagging a stewardess and joining the "Mile High Club"? So many questions 🤣🤣
Hi, Hua Hin is a great family destination but if you need more info on other stuff have a look through some of my older videos that I have already covered most of this topic.
I usually take money out from a ATM. I prefer not to have lots of cash with me from my home country. Mastercard is so easy when you want to have some cash. Recommendations to get the best rates?
Hi Peter. Question - I have been to Phuket & Pattaya the last 3 years. The 3 day rule - if I take a bar girl for 3 days - do I give here the bar fine day 2 & 3 to pay the pay or do I go back to the bar myself & pay them instead? In other words - if I pay the girl so she can pay the bar fine to the bar, if she docent pay the bar herself with my money - can the bar go after me? Sorry I took so long to explain it - I haven't had any problems before.
You have to pay her every day and you also have to pay the bar fine every day so let's just say she charged you 1500 and the bar fine was 500 and you had her for 3 days total bill would be 6000
Flipper house for the buffet breakfast. Its worth splashing out the small bit extra for the superior or deluxe rooms though as the standard rooms are quite dated.
@@keenedgedesigns Agoda is an online travel company out of Singapore , so you thought he said a golder, it is Agoda maybe he did not enunciate properly, cheers !
Yes but the problem is they don’t stick to the regulations. Those same regulations state that all taxi drivers “Must use their meters” no exceptions but whenever I get into a taxi it is always a running battle on how much, they just don’t want to use the meters with foreigners.
@@ThailandBound I live in Thailand. That problem is pretty much gone now. Insist on the meter or don't use the service. Once they have the ticket, I think that they are in for the 50 baht so, if you walk they lose.
Tysm for the really helpful video, I appreciate it a lot. What I haven’t quite understood is the way to handle Hotels, is it better to just walk in and ask for the price personally than to book online in advance, was that what you were saying? Or the other way round? Again, thanks a lot!
No, the best and cheapest way to book any hotel is to book it on Agoda. Even if you walk into a hotel anywhere in Thailand and ask for a room rate it will always be more expensive even if you book it on Agoda from the lobby of the same hotel after asking for a price. I have said to staff many times but I can get it 300 or 400 baht a night cheaper on Agoda and asked them to match it, they never will instead telling me to just book it on Agoda. I have booked rooms in Bangkok on Agoda while standing in the lobby of the hotel, it is a very weird one.

Thx Peter I've been to the Caribbean and South America many times a lot of these scams r quite common especially places with black markets one major takeaway is always negotiate a price so there's no problems with theoutcome
Great channel !!! Always very informative and to a point , keep up an excellent work , always waiting on your new videos .
Thanks, will do!
Very interesting video .I like the museum story. Yes 3 trip to the hospital for a test sound like a lot off trouble. I am planning to go to sha am around Jun July for 2 months. If ist all back to normal. Enjoy your last few day under the sun
Thanks man I appreciate all that you do oh, I haven't taken that trip yet but all of this info shortly help
I think the BTS goes out to the airport. Anyway, I have made mistakes when very tired after a long trip. So now I try to relax and review options before making decisions.
Yes, there is a train that goes to the airport that connects to BTS.
If a girl asks me if i'm here on holiday I would just say i've been a few times before over the years and this time it's just to visit a friend who's moved to Thailand.
When I tell them how many times I have been there, their expression changes. 😅
Pay for play then walk away! Best tip for any new guys here--even the old ones don't seem to learn that!
Excellent feedback thank you
Great Tips but last 2 tips were the best tips....common cents $$$
Ok here's my rules for 45 years find em, feel em, f..k em, forget em, and no glove no love, and I'm old enough to remember that the only thing you needed for safe sex was a padded headboard and a good grip😜
Dude, you are a wizard..
Thanks for all thetips and I hope I get a chance to go to Thailand and use them.
Have fun!
Thanks Peter. Good info as always.
Thanks for the video great info.
Great advice. Great video 🇹🇭
Very good advice. I know some Bar girls that have told straight out that they would not be a good girlfriend because they are a Bar girl.
Love the blogs mate
Hi Alan, thanks very much, I appreciate the positive feedback.🙂
Spoken like a true gent.sooo true brother.
I went back in thailand last year with my wife, loved it (not the same trip then before when I was single... but still loved it)
I'm surprised you didn't have a mobile phone in 2005 as I was using a mobile phone in Bangkok before 2000?
there is a money exchange next to the bts at the airport which gives the best exchange rate
Is the same one as in located in the basement of terminal 21 you don't need to go there in the airport
Great tips thanks
No problem!
Great advice thanks 👍
The greatest thing you said. "BE YOURSELF" I won't comment on anything else.
Thank you for the tips
Good reality check, Peter!
Best advice at the ending!!!!!!
You’re my research. I plan on coming in April or may 2024. For 2 or 3 weeks. After hotel and plane ticket my budget will be $2000 USD. I better bring $3k.
Yes $3,000 better
Girls will usually carry some latex-like protection with them but it may not fit you. It is not so much the length but the girth. Have a good look at what's available in your home country. You'll see that the difference is mostly the girth and some are actually the same length. If you are a slim bloke then no worries. If you are more substantial in girth then bring your own if you don't want that choking sensation or even not being able to fit into what she offers.
I have to disagree with this comment because every seven eleven in Thailand stocks Durex and they also have a large size. I haven't bought them myself but I couldn't help but see them as they are always next to the cash register.
I normally will take the bus from BKK to pattaya a way to save some money.
I would put my money into a small pouch with a padlock(on the zipper) or a sealed envelope before I put them inside the room safe. The hotel staff actually have a master key which they can override all the room safe even if U have set your password. They probably won't take all your money but just a few pieces without U noticing it.....
I have never heard of that taken place.
28 years in Country i Have never had a problem with a hotel safe, good luck with the padlock and small pouch.
Good advice about the bank notes and stuff also good not to wear gold chains Rolex watches and big gold rings. keep them out of sight.
Don't agree but respect your comment.
@@ThailandBound Thank you for the Videos I go to cancun and Tulum and defintly would have done a prebooked cab before your videos as that is standard in those places generally if you dont want to pay insane amounts
Also get currancy that is new as possible for exchange. They wont take crumbled bills.
Right. Perfect condition.
Spot on Pete
interesting and well said...thanks
All good advice, helpful for beginners. Just to add a comment about the room safe... some of these safes display your secret number for a few seconds after yiu inpit it. If someone else is in the room, make sure she doesnt look over your shoulder. One of my friends lost a lot this way. Im sure some of the girls know about this. Usually bar girls will not rob you beacause you xan go back to her bar and complainm. Street walkers are a bigger risk.
Good one. I told a girl I was with "don't look" when the code was being displayed and she got mad as hell. 😂
Thanks!
Thank you so much for that generous offering
There are excellent taxi services with less risk than talking to the Thai taxi drivers at Bangkok airport. Depending on where you go you should do a quick TH-cam search but you will be paying the same with a tip and a happy driver instead of a potential scam price. For Pattaya its always 1500 thb for but then the taxi will stop along the way to fill u the tank etc. on your time. I like to use the once that u pay 1200 thb and they drive all the way.
I suppose the old saying rings true in this situation, “Knowledge is power.”
G'day from Australia. Just found your channel. Im a 49 year old chap planning a first time 'men's' trip with a mate. Would like to know any tips and advice for blokes looking to head over there for the first time. Will check to see if you've done a video on the topic already. Keep up the great work with the channel...
This one will tell you most things you need to know: th-cam.com/video/bva9mpZTgG8/w-d-xo.html
@@ThailandBound Many thanks Peter. Enjoying the stories and personal experience advice mate. Great channel..!
At the Bangkok airport, in the basement, Super Rich gives the best rates for exchange and are open most of the time except in the middle of the night. I suggest changing all of your money there as you won't do better.
I never know how much I need to change, I change it bit by bit and after a 12 hour flight, I just want to get to the hotel.
@@ThailandBound True, but it is so close to the taxis that it isn't much of a detour. It won't be a while until people are using the airport again, however.
I love ur story videos brother, wishing u good health and luck brother.
Well done
The main tips I'm looking for is how to prepare for that long ass flight. Should i stay up the day before so i sleep mostly or what? Should I take straight flight or break it up? First class has gotta be the way to take a day long flight, do they have beds? Should I pack a lunch? What's the probability of bagging a stewardess and joining the "Mile High Club"? So many questions 🤣🤣
There's no easy solution kip. It's not for everybody but I tend to use the airport bar which normally puts me to sleep for the duration of the flight
If you can afford nonstop, go for it.
Yep
Great presentation! Probably saved me some money and embarrassment. 😊
What I really want to know is where you get all those great thumbnails from?.........LOL
A lot of searching around everywhere take hours
20 men is a big group, mate. ;-) Good tips, thanks.
Great video! How about for couples or family? Would be great to learn more... specially places to go!
Hi, Hua Hin is a great family destination but if you need more info on other stuff have a look through some of my older videos that I have already covered most of this topic.
Thailand Bound will do thanks!!!
Excellent !!!
Good tips. How much tip you give when eating in restaurant?
I normally just leave 20 to 40 Baht depending on the restaurant and the service
0 if they have a service charge.
Solid list.
Cheers my man I appreciate that
I usually take money out from a ATM. I prefer not to have lots of cash with me from my home country. Mastercard is so easy when you want to have some cash. Recommendations to get the best rates?
If you hit the ATM ever second day for 20,000 bhat which is the max withdrawl, they it you for about $10 each transaction.
Good work Peter. The tips from a victim, just like me. This is how we learn..).
You have to pay her every day and you also have to pay the bar fine every day so let's just say she charged you 1500 and the bar fine was 500 and you had her for 3 days total bill would be 6000
Great tips
Glad it was helpful!
Peter in your experience which is the better hotel of the 2 location wise in Patts, Flipper house hotel in 7 or Flipper lodge in 8
They are all pretty much the same, all have some good points but better check them out on Agoda first.
Flipper house for the buffet breakfast. Its worth splashing out the small bit extra for the superior or deluxe rooms though as the standard rooms are quite dated.
You can go down to the ground level and take the bus to Pattaya, very cheap.
Lots of options available but most people simply want to jump in a taxi after a long haul flight and not have to cart bags around bus terminals.
Go to Super rich for the best exchange there is 1 at the emporium mall
To be honest mate I can't be bothered I just had to change proofing sorry for when I get to my hotel
Fair play I always use them becouse I stay close by on Soi 22 but whatever is close and not a complete rip off works 👍🏻
What is a golder?
Update, I now know it’s Aogoda. He was just saying to fast for me.
No Idea?
In the video you said book trip on a Golder ahead of time. What is a golder?
@@ThailandBound In the video you suggested booking hotels in advance on Golden. Maybe I did not hear you correctly.
@@keenedgedesigns Agoda is an online travel company out of Singapore , so you thought he said a golder, it is Agoda maybe he did not enunciate properly, cheers !
@@ericcoyle5184 Thanks so much!
Can you change English pounds rather then change to USA dollars to change again to Thai baht??
The rules have changed. It is actually better to get into the taxi queue as they are regulated now
Yes but the problem is they don’t stick to the regulations.
@@ThailandBound Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me Sir. Highly appreciated! I
Thanks to your explanation I got it, it’s a real weird one. Ok I’ll stick to Agoda then
Just one other thing, it does not have to be Agoda, any hotels booking website but in Thailand, Agoda seems to be the main one they all use.
@@ThailandBound Thank you 😊 I appreciate it
Whats the name of the hotel booking service?
Agoda
