The changes to the retainer and crafting UI does seem like they were made to ease the understanding of these mechanics for a newcomer. Not gonna lie, it took me some times to fully understand what everything meant in the 4.0 crafting UI... And I'm not sure that I've understood everything correctly with the retainers system for now.
One big wish that I have is that if they could make the whole retainer thing faster. Although the animation of the retainer coming to see you is nice, it can add a bit of extra time each time you want to check on a retainer, update the prices or anything else. Especially if you use multiples retainers at once. I really hope they've made this thing a tiny bit faster.
One thing that I would love too is some more audio indications ! Like, when your retainer sold an item, maybe a small sound playing would be nice (or a louder one if there is already one), as well as one when an S rank mob spawns. This doesn't look like much, but these informations are easy to miss, and could use some audio cues to help peoples notice them. I mean... They've done it for so many things until now (job gauge, mail, housing)...
But I guess it's the sound guy in me talking. :)
Btw, I think there was a "scale" option that appeared somewhere in the housing presentation during the liveletter. Really curious about this one if it is correct, because it could be huge... In more ways than one. :p

That scale feature is old! You can change the scale of your UI windows right now. I forgot when they added that feature but I think it was either with stormblood or maybe even before it. I love it for when I'm trying out glams

As Evan said, it's been around for a while. They've only recently (early-SB) made it so you can scale it all the way up to 200%. I am with you on the speed thing. Part of me wonders if that's how they cover the fact that they're loading retainer data or if it is purely cosmetic. There are a lot of areas of the UI that can feel a lot snappier, and I hope improvements of that sort made it into the expansion. Great comment on the audio notifications as well! I wish they had picked another one for ready check, but eh, that's just me. It's a bit too jarring, but that's probably the point.

I would like multiple videos about UI topics. But if necessary longer videos if a lot of systems are entangled.

Hot take: Those websites won't die because we still need to share the data so people can first find the nodes to begin with.

with the retainers, when you haven't checked them in too long and it doesn't say you have anything for sale until after you click them it's because I believe you don't have anything for sale. items are only listed for sale for a certain amount of time, and if you don't check on them then they're withdrawn from the market until you reset that timer by checking your retainer. so I assume that with the changes to the retainer window it will say 0 items for sale until you check that retainer, if your listings have expired.

I completely agree with the idea that the player should never be expected to use x website or addon. Blizzard did the same with WoW throughout expansions, popular addons they would just implement in their own systems so all players could have that. Is it necessary? Absolutely not, but like you stated it is a huge win for the player base and gatherers.
The new crafting window is 11/10 from me, everything is there now. Instead of having to look at your buffs if you lose track of something its right there where you are already paying attention anyways. You can see how much your skills are going to give as you craft so you're taking that bit of guesswork out to help.
The retainer window itself I am so happy to see, having 5 retainers when I haven't visited them for awhile I forget what retainer is what class, this is big for me to see what they are so its easier for me to know who to check.
Also can understand the excitement, I was excited for Stormblood, but the excitement/hype for Shadowbringers is on another level.

I knew this was coming! Honestly you're the most underrated 14 content creator, but maybe I just have a nascent interest in UX.

You are wonderful. Thank you for the kind words! ^-^ This is great motivation to keep doing these.

I agree with the idea of multiple videos; especially if they're broken up into coherant categories. That way people can just focus on what they're most interested in.
