He’s just funnelling traffic to his merch and hoping to make profit (which he most likely will). He will giveaway the 570 though, if he doesn’t he could be sued by people who entered the giveaway.

I mean in theory since you're getting the car for "free" from Stradman and therefore won't have a loan on the title, you could effectively claim that you're having to pay whatever the tax amount is to purchase the car against the title, but again, that would involve well over a $1,000 monthly payment, which still is beyond most peoples scope of money

This is pathetic. This is a LOTTERY, not a giveaway. This is no different than what companies like Eighty80 do. It's shady and is designed to be more-or-less a pay-to-win scheme. Buy more shirts = get more entries. Plus as others have mentioned, the money that the winner will need to cover the tax is going to be outrageous. James, long time subscriber here. Please be more clear to the younger viewers about the actual terms of the “giveaway”. I read the fine print of this sweepstakes and essentially you are a middle man for the operation. That is all fine and good, but more transparency would be appreciated since it currently looks like you are giving away a car that you payed for / registered, when in reality it is the property of these other 3rd parties. Hope this whole thing doesn’t stress you out between now and Christmas since there will be some folks less impressed with the sales approach.

He maybe should be a little more transparent about this car and who actually “owns” it. However as a regular blue collar with three sons who love super cars i have a great respect for James and the clean content he creates. CAM it’s a lotto tax. Cars will be taxed the same as income and 170k value will put you in the equivalent tax bracket. After that, you will have local and state taxes.

There’s a reason why people are so confused. When you click enter it takes you to a store. The rules stating a purchase isn’t necessary is buried elsewhere. I would recommend redirecting to the rules page instead of the store. A regulator could say this is deceptive.

What they mean by that is you can enter to win by mailing in your contact information, but sending something by mail costs money. So you don't have to purchase something from them to be entered to win, but you cannot enter for free.

This is pathetic. This is a LOTTERY, not a giveaway. This is no different than what companies like Eighty80 do. It's shady and is designed to be more-or-less a pay-to-win scheme. Buy more shirts = get more entries. Plus as others have mentioned, the money that the winner will need to cover the tax is going to be outrageous. You were not very clear on the rules and it was a scumbag move to make it seem like this was your car and that you were going to be a hero and 'give it away'. James, long time subscriber here. Please be more clear to the younger viewers about the actual terms of the “giveaway”. I read the fine print of this sweepstakes and essentially you are a middle man for the operation. That is all fine and good, but more transparency would be appreciated since it currently looks like you are giving away a car that you payed for / registered, when in reality it is the property of these other 3rd parties.
Hope this whole thing doesn’t stress you out between now and Christmas since there will be some folks less impressed with the sales approach.

Perhaps I’m being naive. But, isn’t it kind of a goal as a TH-camr to create content, get sponsors, and create even better content with an end goal of making a living doing just that. He maybe should be a little more transparent about this car and who actually “owns” it. However as a regular blue collar with three sons who love super cars i have a great respect for James and the clean content he creates. As far as I’m concerned he is just trying to do something great and even if he has help from partners and sponsors it is still 570 that is being given away! If it weren't for strad this competition would only get a fraction of the interest (less money for them) so they want to make it sound like it's just his car they're giving away so people are more likely to enter( i.e more entrants to make them money).

CAM it’s a lotto tax. Cars will be taxed the same as income and 170k value will put you in the equivalent tax bracket. After that, you will have local and state taxes.

What they mean by that is you can enter to win by mailing in your contact information, but sending something by mail costs money. So you don't have to purchase something from them to be entered to win, but you cannot enter for free.
