    I own a 2002 Fazer. I love that bike, I did 2 person touring around Europe no issues with full luggage. I did some fast speed riding. I went off road a bit on the gravel and the bike did everything I wanted. It's a great all rounder and I won't sell it for many years to come!

    1st gen FZ1s like this one are the best... A rocketship that is comfortable enough to ride all day.

    I have an 02, recently mostly restored with all the right mods, best cheapest bike money can buy with real world performance and usability

      Is it too much to handle for an intermediate skill rider? I want something practical for everyday, I've only ridden twin cylinder bikes though, no more than 90 HP on BMW 1100 boxer. Not too unwieldy for a daily commuter you think? Comfortable for a 2-3 hour trip on the highway?

    Thinking of buying a used 2001 with low miles. Used to cruisers but I am ready for a different more nimble bike. $2400 I guess isn't too bad for a used 2001?

    You'll have to pry my '03 from my cold, dead fingers. if you get one buy a 4 degree timing advancer. It will fire up instantly like a FI bike.

    What does those numbered plates mean? like this one was 51 plated? i've browsed british VW forums and they also talk about differed numbers of plates on their cars...?

    Bought this bike in August 2001 when the new number plate config came out. I paid £7,960 for an import. Total hooligan bike.

      @@ScragNath I keep hearing about this EXUP valve...how does one check it when looking at the bike? Is it a lag when riding it, a stutter when rolling off the throttle?

    • @davidstancu2963

      @@petar.banovac yes I would recommend it. There are few bikes that are as versatile especially for the price. The seating position is upright and comfortable, the engine is bulletproof there are a bunch of people w over 100k miles on their fz1s, handles great and it's faster than a 600cc super sport. I paid 2600 for mine in mint condition w 14k miles. Downsides are weight 500lbs wet (around 485 w a slip on), it has carburetors which are silky smooth but a bitch to maintain and maybe looks. All in all an amazing package for dirt cheap.

    • @ccreations123
      @ccreations123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's oil worth burning, the sensor is set high anyway so I over fill just a bit (keeps the light off) and can go at least 2k miles riding hard before I start to see consumption (owned 14 yrs)

    • @cesartapia610
      @cesartapia610 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidstancu2963 Why are the carburetors hard to maintain? I'm looking for a solid standard bike for daily 2-3 hour commuting with decent wind protection. Would you recommend this over a Kawasaki ZR7-S/Honda CB750? I'm an intermediate skilled rider, biggest bike I had was a BMW R1100RS with 90HP crank boxer twin. Is the FZ1S too much to handle? Thanks.
