To all the people who keep listing "some random sports guy that was in a movie for 3 seconds" just stop. The title says "actors" not someone that was in a movie once.
So I’ve pinned this because I wanted it to come from someone else. I don’t mind putting a sportsman in if he’s done a few films but to name someone who’s famous for doing something other than film that had a part in one film is basically silly. So thank you 🙏

"The Rifleman" was a series ahead of its time. A single dad raising a son to do right. The chemistry of the father, played by Chuck Connors, and the son was absolute magic. I highly recommend. It's one you can watch with the kids, too. Some comedy, some drama and a lot of the very nicely constructed Chuck Connors.

I met a fellow who was 7’3” and unlike some people that tall he didn’t suffer from gigantism. He said at his height he was taller than most NBA players. At 6’4” I felt like a dwarf standing next to him.

They had several episodes that featured other widowed fathers with sons.
I had no idea so many actors were this tall, especially some of the older ones.

@@Dora-hi2nw I don’t just google these heights and accept what is written. All the heights are researched by studying photo and video evidence from their peak days. Many of these are listed lower by me then by themselves
@@DataWatch. Conversely a lot of the male actors' heights were billed much higher than their actual height i.e. Tom Cruise and Sly Stallone et al.

@@pattywolford actually it was both. More than one actor struggled with height issues, including Alan Ladd, Humphrey Bogart etc. Sophia Loren, Ingrid Bergman even Carol Lombard had to pretend to be shorter and she was only 5 foot 6 inches.
7'1" Wilt Chamberlain played a villainous warrior and counterpart of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1984 film Conan the Destroyer.

Great to see Chuck Connors get a mention. As a kid growing up in the 1960s, he was kind of like the big brother we wished we had: tough, calm, capable but decent. No idea what he was like IRL and don’t really care to know. 👍🏻
Used to see him on tv a lot in the 80s when I was a kid as my old man was always watching his films
I understand he was a nice guy from interviews I've read about him.
Loved the opening sequence of Branded, as he gets stripped of his insignia and booted out of the fort.
I did go and have a look and it appears he was in every way a regular guy and well regarded. Also a tank warfare instructor. A refreshing lack of scandal too.
@@ThreenaddiesRexMegistus chuck Norris was 5ft 8 inches tall. Less now that he is very old. Because people shrink with age. The rocks true height is 6ft 2, inches. The same as David Batista.

I'd read before that Sterling Hayden was 6-5. I was waiting for Clint Walker (I thought you were gonna miss him), and then he showed up at 6-6. I hadn't realized he was that tall. Nice video. Thanks for doing the work.

Clint Eastwod was never 6ft 6 inches tall. Where on earth do you/ did you get your information from. You are so far out with half of them. If Clint Eastwood was 6ft 6 inches tall.then tell me,how has he lost a foot in height.? Morgan Freeman is taller. And Kevin Costner is taller than him. Costners height is 5ft 11 inches.

@alistairwillock7266 weights and measures are different in America than they are in the UK. Your 6ft 4 inch will be around 6 ft here. Your pint's are smaller than ours. Your tons are lighter than ours. Look it up.

interesting as always; please use only photos of actors at the peak of their career: Rupert Everett , for instance is unrecognizable. An iconic photos for every actor in line would make a much better video.
You are welcome to try and find full length images for me. I’m having nightmares getting full length images of some of these guys, makes what should be a few days work into a few weeks. Unfortunately 99% of all photos don’t include the bottom half

If you made a list with David McCallum in it, do you show him as he looked when playing "Ducky" on N.C.I.S. or a shot from when he played Illya Kuryaken on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (which is where I best knew him from)? The two shots wouldn't look like the same person.

I think he’s less than that now. Average guy loses 1/2 inch from 40/50 and then just increases after 50. By 80 could have easy lost 3/4 inch and by 90 5 inch plus

Shrinking is definitely a thing. In my 20's I was 188cms, now in my early 60's I'm 186.
@@billcollins6705 the bad news is it will get a lot worse, shrinking only accelerates. Eastwood is a prime example, lost at least four inches for me. It’s even a decent video idea, celebs and their estimated height loss

In some ways it's depressing. I'm at John Wayne, and I recognized only about 6 actors before him, and another 6 or 7 I've heard of. I attribute this to how poorly Hollywood movies have been made in the last 20 years. And I used to like movies.
Really a shame.

I watch a lot of movies and only didn't recognize maybe 3.
You can safely take off at least an inch from most of those heights. People commonly inflate their height, and even athletes do it.
I'm 6'-2 1/2", and I rarely bump into people taller than me. It's just not that common. Occasionally I'll be in Walmart and members of the local university basketball or volleyball teams will be in shopping at the same time. It's good for me to be around people who are taller than I am, because it lets me know what most people feel like when they are around me. But when I'm near them, I also know that they are in my town, an in my neighborhood because the university hunted them down for their skill, but their height is a major part of their skill.
If I became famous, I'm sure that my agent would tell the world I'm 6'- 3", or maybe 6'-4", because that's what they do.

I always knew I was shorter than many at 5'9 ( and 3/4ths) after I was 12 after seriously getting interested in sports, and knowing since that I ain't grown one bit, I'm 68.

Very well put together. I thought Gregory Peck and Charlton Heston would have made the 6'3". I know that in "The Big Country" movie they gave the already tall Peck lifts to make him bigger than Heston and on a par with Chuck Connors, both of whom played his adversaries in the film.

Dwayne Johnson has been 6ft 5in tall since he was a teenager. They made a big deal about it his whole life a career. Why is everyone trying to make him shorter all of a sudden?

@@DataWatch. I was 5,10 in my youth, shrank to 5'8.5 by 49 and after a knee replacement I'm now 5'9.5. Gained an inch by being able to put weight through both legs.
I've never had more than two feet though..

I hear ya. When he was around 10, my one son would say he wanted to be as tall as our bishop (6'7") when he grew up. Once he hit 6'3" in high school and began to experience the drawbacks of tallness (like trying to squeeze into the driver's seat of a car), he started regretting that wish. Fortunately he only grew another half-inch.

We don't actually know how tall Andre was. Maybe 7 foot. Maybe 7 foot 4. Maybe in the middle. Maybe just under 7 feet. I find that fact really odd. Such a well known "giant" and his height remains an object of some conjecture.
I’ve not seen any evidence he was over 7 feet! When you see him with 7’1 wilt chamberlain he’s shorter than him. He only looks 5/6 inches bigger than hulk hogan even at his very peak. I’d love to see something that someone has seen, some sort of picture evidence that suggests otherwise. We all know WWE billed him massively tall like they do all their stars to just make them appear even more intimidating
@billkikstra2225 it’s a tough one. I think he could have been as high as 7’ peak but I’ve just not seen anything to suggest higher. I know he had back trouble and lost a bit of height but I never saw him towering over hogan by more than 6 inch

John Larroquette and Harry Anderson from Night Court we’re both 6’4”. I noticed how tall they were when I realized they weren’t all that much shorter than Richard Moll.

@@DataWatch. I’m an ‘80’s kid and Night Court was one of my favorite shows. John Larroquette did a few movies, as well, but, unfortunately, they aren’t as well known anymore. This was an interesting video cause some of the actors that I thought were tall turned out to be much shorter while others surprised me with how tall they are.

@ It is. It was a comedy about night court in New York City. Richard Moll played a bailiff. The first season was kind of all over the place but it settled in and got really good after that.

Howard Stern is an actor? And does anyone know Hulk Hogan's actual height? Here is says 6' 6", his iMdb page says 6' 7", but when I just saw pictures of him standing next to the A-Team cast, there is no way he was actually that tall. I wouldn't have included any of the wrestlers, football players, basketball players, or strongmen as actors. They were athletes/strongmen that played a role.
