    That absolutely summed it up better than almost anyone had stated it in so many videos.
    "A static method is basically a method that can be accessed from inside of a class without creating an instance of the class"..
    Thank you for summarizing it so well.
    It just clicked in my mind :)
    I will absolutely subscribe and give a thumbs up.

    Every time I get stuck on a stupid thing or something my professors *should* have taught me *YEARS AGO* I do a simple google search and this man always has my back.
    Sincerely: Thank you! You're the reason I might get my final project done on time, and pass this course!

    Very nice demonstration.
    You might want to explain why static methods are used.

    Nice!!! I used to know some Java, but it's been years. Right now I'm trying to relearn the language, and may even include some simple Java programming in a couple of the math classes that I teach at a community college north of Chicago. I'm just curious about something. I know that C++, Java and C# are the three biggies in the world of OOP. Do you think that Java is the best of the three? Or not? What's your opinion on that subject. And by the way, your videos are great! Make more of them!!! Thanks.

    Nice video, really helped me.
    I still have question though: What about static classes?
    I couldn't really find a video on what the static keyword does on classes, so I hope I can get an answer here. :)

    in 4:48 min when you try to access to static variable it shows the error.Could u pls explain why?

    • @sathishkumarsomasundaram7075
      @sathishkumarsomasundaram7075 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      that error has nothing to do with static. When you access a variable, you either have to use it to print or assign it to another variable. He was doing neither on that line.

    prints.feetinmiles; //for this why did you get error ?

    • @emilg4825
      @emilg4825 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was because he did not type () after the method name.

    • @emilg4825
      @emilg4825 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually forget it thats not a method :D

    • @main.aagam.

      did you instantiate the class Prints? or maybe because you types "prints" instead of "Prints"? did you follow the naming conventions? because you didn't camel case your int as well

    • @scottisitt
      @scottisitt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the Class file, type:
      public static int feetInMiles() {
      return 5280;
      }
      On the main page, type:
      System.out.println(Prints33.feetInMiles() );
      But still don’t need to create an instance of the class.

    • @scottisitt
      @scottisitt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He didn't make feetInMiles into a method.
      In the Class file, type:
      public static int feetInMiles() {
      return 5280;
      }
      On the main page, type:
      System.out.println(Prints33.feetInMiles() );
      But still don’t need to create an instance of the class.
