Good analysis. The real differentiator for dividend funds would be that they give back monthly dividends back to the investor say atleast 75% as a regular income. Sebi must step in here abd tweak the fund policy
Hello, while dividend-yield funds tend to have a higher allocation to mid/small caps as compared to large-cap funds, you can also consider mid-cap and small-cap funds. Please decide as per your requirements.
Divident yield performed better because they are psu heavy funds that give dividents. So as PSU had a good period last yr their overall return increased. It is not worth it in case of a longer period as fund managers have only a few basket of funds to invest in.

When I invest in a stock directly, like say in NALCO, the dividend declared is transferred to my bank. In ANY mutual fund of any fund, what happens to the dividends?

One analysis that I was looking was for PSU versus non-psu stocks which dividend yield funds hold. I believe that it's majorly PSU stocks which gave out more dividend yields. Because of the PSU rallies in last few years, I can be wrong. I haven't done the analysis but was looking for that in in the video. but a great video overall

For someone thinking to allocate more small/mid caps, should I shift from an active large cap fund to any dividend yield fund?

What about bonus and splits? Does that get included in the dividend yields? Also does the dividend get reinvested or paid out?
I am using dividend fund to invest only dividends received from stocks
Good idea

Agree, I was thinking of same. If they give return figures before psu rally, it can give correct picture
Exactly!
Need to analyse these funds before 2021 or pre COVID (ex: 2015 to 2020 data to be taken and needs to be analysed)

It will be added to your NAV
@@mohit97680 Alright. Thanks for replying
If you invest in IDCW plan dividend will be paid to your bank account and NAV goes down accordingly
Wow, excellent analysis, and super video❤👏

@@ETMONEYSo, Is there any chance that these divided yield equity funds can overlap highly with the Nifty 50 or Nifty Next 50 funds, Sir?
Very good analysis to take informed decisions. Thank you sir

If someone already have small and medium cap Fund in their profile than it make no sense to choose dividend yield fund over Flexicap Fund.
