Sometimes Michael presses turbo boost, but Kitt goes fast instead of jumps. I'm confused with that.

I think you're confusing turbo boost with pursuit mode! S4 it becomes super pursuit mode!

I know what you mean June. That's just because of some bad studio editing in the early episodes of season 1.
Pursuit goes faster, Turbo boost goes over.
