Bought a '84 30' Chieftain 3 years ago. Its in the shop getting fully resto-modded. Cheapest option considering the RV market prices, and I get to say I drive a classic. 😂
Oh that's awesome. What kind of engine are you putting in it? That should be pretty cool when it's done. Yeah the RV market is ridiculous right now, especially the used market.
@@Fifty50Photography Just the original 454, but with a custom Holley electronic intake, and performance exhaust manifolds to replace the originals which were ported for A.I.R which has be deleted before I bought it. Top-end rebuild as the head gaskets are currently blown. Shop just finished the front end brakes, shocks and springs. It was all seized, collapsed lines.
This is probably a stupid question.. but I have never driven anything bigger than the smallest van uhaul they make. How hard is it to get used to driving something like yours? There is one for sale near me and I keep looking at it saying to myself damn I want that. But if I have to back up I'll hit everything and kill everyone 🤣
It's really not hard to get used to driving them at all. Just drive slower than you would in a car. Take wide turns and watch/use your mirrors. You can always get one of those wireless backup cameras to mount in the back to help when backing up. I would try to practice in an empty parking lot or a subdivision that's just being built.
I just bought the same coach, same year. I am going to start some refurbishing this weekend. Do you have any tips for me in regards to removing and replacing the interior the wall and roof panels? Also, did you paint the outside at all? If so, what did you use? Lastly, do you know of any companies that sell replacement parts for this rig besides the manufacturer? Thanks so much in advance.

@@GrumpyOldMan977 Wow, that should drive really nice. It will probably kind of peppy for what it is.
