I made many mistakes. I will be doing a new version in the future. Nitpick away but do so in good faith. Don’t be mean, please.🙏 About this video: This is my magnum opus. I worked on it for almost 3 years with four total versions. I lost (ha)the third version in a cataclysmic attack of idiocy (backup your backups!!!) which broke my heart. However, this version (lost 4.0) was retitled: “I’m not lost, I’m in my land.” And making this video has been such a big part of my heart and my work. It's a show about a found community, or as you put it, the friends we made along the way. Really enjoyed this video, and I'm stunned by all the work and thoughtfulness put into it. ❤

You mentioned being really interested in the lore of the island from before the show and the account LOST EXPLAINED has some excellent videos diving so so deep into everything!
3:08:58 i think this theory IS actually right. there aren’t two timelines, only one, where “whatever happened happened”, so this did happen in adult ben’s childhood, he just doesn’t remember it

This is so impressive!! I've been searching for a deep dive / analysis of lost since I rewatched it a few years ago, and most creators have covered the first few seasons but never anything this comprehensive! Thanks for staying obsessed and dedicated so the rest of us can understand the show better :)

Your criticisms about Walt and Michael, Sayid and Nadia, Shannon and Boone, Sayid's trajectory in season 6 in general, are all spot on. Couldn't agree more
This is a great analysis! The Sayid and Nadia story - my personal take: I think the show makes it clear that Nadia is the love of his life, and I agree with that. However, the criteria for everyone moving on in the church is they come to some self love through their connection with others. Sayid's love for Nadia was so all consuming it led him to do many things which he ended up feeling deep shame and guilt for: he still felt remorse for torturing her, he felt guilt for trading his friend's life to find her, he felt guilt for being connected to her and ultimately she got tangled up in the Ben/Widmore drama and got killed, he felt guilt for murdering loads of people in cold blooded revenge for her death, he also then later felt guilt for trying to kill a child (Ben) out of anger for all the things he manipulated him into doing - and this was all stemming from his grief over Nadia, and then finally he became a cold blooded killer in the hopes that the MIB might bring her back to life if he did everything he wanted for him. So in this character arc, Nadia was to him what Padme was to Anakin in Star Wars. Yes, he loved her more than life itself, but by the end of his life.. as when Desmond asks "this woman, when she asks what you did to see her again, what will you tell her?"... while he knows she always loved him, he no longer feels he can look at her in the eyes and feel like he is still the man she fell in love with. He lost all sense of reason and his usual cool, calm and rational self was gone after she died - that Sayid died with her in a way. So yes... if he had died somehow along with her back in S4/5 before he became someone she no longer would recognise nor he would recognise himself... then yes completely he would have died and moved on with her in the sideways... because his last moments with her would have been redeeming and what he needed to move on. However the soul that was left after Sayid's actual death in S6 was one which was very much conflicted. The person that brought out the best in him and with whom he had not tarnished, happy memories with was Shannon. They had accepted one another as he had accepted himself with Nadia - however he never did even 1/10th of all the many crazy things he did for Nadia, in Shannon's name. No, while their time together was short - it was at least simple and far much less complex. From his POV he loved Nadia in the sideways but him fading into white light with her in his arms was something he felt deeply uncomfortable about. He could not see her or look at her and fade into paradise without feeling the blood all over his hands of all the awful things he did to get to be with her again. The only person he had cared enough for other than Nadia, albeit no way as much, but still brought out the best in him... was Shannon. They did have a romantic connection - albeit not as soul consuming as it was with Nadia - yet it still was meaningful and I do think he and Shannon were genuine in their want to continue to grow together had she not died and had they left the island as stayed together. And just because we never hear him talk about her again does not mean she left his heart... no different to how Claire barely spoke of Charlie after his death in later seasons. Yes his eyes shifted back to Nadia in later seasons but that makes sense and he wanted to move on with his life. But just because he and his storyline moved back to Nadia does not mean he as a character forgot about Shannon nor did his love and memory of her diminish for good. That's my personal take as I've always simply wanted to like and appreciate what they were giving us and when all the analysis is done, to me it does make sense. Yes maybe the storytelling could have done more to reinforce the points I made but again like most things in this show I think normally it's better when they trust we can work it out for ourselves than for it to be overly hammered home and spelled out. Great summary of the show!
Girly pop this video will.. Pop off soon! It's too late in the day for me to use synonyms I believe and I will continue to rewatch and share- we've got this!!!

@@larsland awesome! I really enjoyed your thoughts about it here already, so a dedicated video about it would be right up my alley! Looking forward to it ☺️ Interestingly enough, I've seen some confusion among fans online about whether or not Sayid actually did torture the woman since it's presented somewhat ambiguously, but I agree with your interpretation and find it more compelling to assume that she really was one of his victims.
@@carolinea6769yeah I can see the confusion! I’m not sure if it even matters if he did or not, because he tortured and she was tortured. They could swap places of others in their own stories. Her forgiveness and his repentance stand in the wake of whether or not it was those two people in the same room. If that makes sense lmao

The Sayid and Nadia story - my personal take:
I think the show makes it clear that Nadia is the love of his life, and I agree with that.
However, the criteria for everyone moving on in the church is they come to some self love through their connection with others.

I'm not afraid to say I cried when Jin and his wife died...
i got a theory about Charlie and his Brother ... they were based on Oasis the Band ,
Jack's speech might also be the greatest Line Delivery in television history..
