    I really love how you analyzed each of the components of their art style! I think combined with watching speed paints or process videos it can greatly improve one's understanding of why the person they study does things they do and make them more mindful of their decisions during their own process; oh, and the reflection part at the end was also great! I love that unlike most videos on this topic you actually analyzed which parts went wrong in the picture as opposed to simply showing them side by side!

      Thank you it means a lot, and yeah at the end of each project I like to reflect on the mistakes it helps me to set future goals! :)

    I also love Hanacue's art style! I tried to mimic her style based solely off a few glances (it was a fail as far as mimicry goes, tho I did like how th piece turned out), and after watching this I think Imma try and take your advice and listen to the notes you made about her art style. I see now where I went wrong :0

    im inspired by you to draw from other artitsts! however i have a question, i am a traditional artist do you think it is still possible for me to study digital artists ? >.

    • @mayelenym
      @mayelenym  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes definitely!
      If you only use pencils you can focus on the lines mostly but for coloring/shading you can only look at the values/contrast in the art which is actually also great to study.
      If you have access to/use colors when drawing traditionally you can also study the colors of course.
      What will probably be different is the process you use since you're not using digital tools but you can also study artists and use your own process and not their process- that's how I myself also study artists, using my own process but trying to achieve a similar visual result. :)

    • @teddybearmei8713

      Owh I understand! I have some coloured pencils and some watercolours! Hopefully I can still study some artists I like and maybe this artist too I love their style @@mayelenym

    becoming a plagiarist who just leeches of someone's style is basically the same thing an AI is doing. A parasitic thing to do for views too.

    • @Hicchat
      @Hicchat ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Studying an art style you like a lot isn’t plagiarism it’s effective practice that has existed as long as art has.

      Do you even know how art works. This is literally how you learn.

    • @spaacedust
      @spaacedust ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Idk man a lot of people see it as an honor when someone wants to study their art style

    • @yumi_cloud
      @yumi_cloud ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I dunno man, I'd be honored if someone liked my style enough to study it. Also what ai does is steal artwork without permission and use it to generate an image. Studying an artsyle is different, you're not taking their art without permission, you're just learning from the way they draw. Studying an artwork takes effort and you still have to practice to master that artstyle. Sorry for the long rant but I just wanted to explain how it's different from ai

    • @ryuugaeisen8946
      @ryuugaeisen8946 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No it's not. How could you even compare an AI to an actual person doing the work? As a computer science major, I'm baffled. It's the algorithm that does the work. All the effort goes to the creator who programmed it as such, unlike those "typers" who just puts on the prompts/words. And unlike artists who put actual hard work. It's not very easy to study other artist's work, it's very hard. That's why it's honorable and other's find it respectable, so long as you DO respect the OG artist.
