If you want a simpler version of that "vintage" effect (which is really a light glow effect), you can get the blur brush, lower the opacity, and there u go.

IBIS paint DOES have a pallet picker (kind of)
If you go to settings and turn on "Reference Window" you can load an image separate to the canvas, in which the eyedropper tool works

I haven't drawn in months, and just recently had the motivation to keep on going, watching our Queen Kooleen's videos is really fun and motivating. it's all so neat and smeggzy = v=
kooleen's voice is so calming she sounds like my therapist, soothing voice and has god tier insulting skills, while also giving you life-changing tips.
Usually I'm very bad at digital art but this first tip really saved me now I can draw on digital art thank you kooleen
u can also use lasso fill for the ✨smegsie✨ color fill like in Clip studio

Actually in the reference window while it won't turn into a colorpallet you can still use the eyedrop tool to pick colors from your reference. Atleast thats what I remember from using Ibispaintx.

I suck at drawing on android (and drawing in general) but the curve feature is such a life changer.
I've been using ibis paint for almost 2 years and this is the first time I've seen half of the hacks in ibis paint here...
To be fair tho, I didn't explore the app enough 'cuz i just draw and sketch whenever i want.

1:26 you can also just color white over it, ig it’s faster but like, you can just find like one color that will fit over the spec or just find the layer it can’t take that long

0:57 -> There's actually a lasso fill in ibis paint under the special brushes (the same category with with liquify tool).

For getting rid of random splotches on the side and you can't find the layer, I have everything in a folder so i can select the folder and erase it

1.) Make custom brush of the brush or pen u want permanently unlocked (by using the + beside the brush/pen)
2.) Go to shape, then brush pattern, choose a pen or brush thats free. And Bam! Permanently free.
One more step...
3.) Enjoy or not bc ik ur gonn try doin it to all brushes and pens with ad hihi

Use the symmetry tool for when you’re sketching, then manually polish it.
Also manual lineart & coloring just feels nice y’a know?

There’s a way to get the colors without the hassle of adding an image onto the canvas. When you click the arrow pointing left, go to settings and turn on reference window, add the image and you can take the color from the reference window :)

1 - screen shot the qr code photo
2 - go into ibis and go into brushes
3 - there should be three dots in the top corner, press on it
4 - it will give you the option to import or export, choose import.
5 - it will ask you to select a photo, select the qr code one
6 - and boom ur done!
if this isnt detailed enough you could watch a 2 min tutorial on youtube!

also, this is how to make is follow the rotation
so go to settings of the brush and scroll until you see a button called “following rotation”
and click it and just start drawing lol

For the second tip (random lines in the canvas) if there is a background just click the eye icon on the BG layer and start using the lasso tool thingy said in the video, and if you're done removing the random lines, just click the eye icon on the BG layer again 👍

Okay I have a tip, when you are adding/checking layers, there’s a choice between a normal layer or a transparent layer at the bottom right of the layers thingy, if you click the white one, you can pick a colour and it sets the base background as the colour you picked.
I have a tip for hair: Use your base color, then use a light color for highlights. To blend, Use the smudge tool then select the hair smudge option😊
