5:50 was all sorts of great lines and composition
Agree! :-)
4:25 too!!!
I could look at you shooting photos for hours. This is the only remedy to being on lockdown.
Love this episode. I was recently in Tokyo myself this summer! Unfortunately I didn't take any film with me but seeing your photos really makes me wish I did! Japan and especially its high advertising spots like Tokyo is such a joy to look at and photograph. It is so in-your-face with its advertising that you get some great lines and images cluttered with stuff to look at. Love these shots!
That shot at 3.20 man... soo good. Love this channel man.
That shot from down the stairs with the buildings hovering and dominating = gold
those selfies of you and fran are adorable! ive been a huge fan of fran for a while now and i cant believe i had never seen your channel ! im getting into film photography so im definitely subscribing
One trick with the LC-A, LC-A+, and LC-Wide to compensate for backlit subjects is to adjust the ISO/ASA dial to a higher speed, or cover the light sensor next to the dial with your finger. A piece of black tape works great for those long exposures, too. Also, what's not cool about shooting full-frame in half-frame mode? I think those "mistakes" look pretty neat!
The problem is moving the ADA wheel in the LC-Wide is not easy at all. There's no way you can see an interesting scene happening and have time to adjust the ASA wheel to compensate. By the time you make it happen, the scene is gone. :(
Full-frame in half-frame looks experimental and all, but the problem is when you are shooting something, you envision a certain composition... but then it turns out that all is lost in a mix of shapes. Is cool for experimenting, but ruins the pictures you wanted to composed with care if you were not looking to experiment.
I'm so in love, like always. I just wish it was coloured this time, I feel like this film doesn't do you justice!
Wow you got some SICK street photos! Good job and good review as always!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Bravo! No se porque nunca vi este video, pero por suerte me salio entre las recomendaciones en el bus camino al trabajo. Fantastico Eduardo, simplemente fantastico.
That shot from the bottom of the stairs was great
Wonderful Pictures. I also like the halfframe shots.
It's very nice to see you shoot B&W again!
Thanks for the Lomo camera comparisons. Learned something about the Wide…
Have a Bessa L with a 25 Skopar, had another with the 18 Heliar but sold it.
Love my L!
Dude, I'm really envious of your life style. I mean, I would love to travel around the world and document everything on film and digital. Maybe one day, but at the moment, it's just work and family, but I do get the odd chance to get out to London or a nice little village and shoot.
Amazing compositions !! I'm speechless...
Genial trabajo mi pana, realmente se nota la pasión y el entusiamo que le pones a los vídeos, algo que se agradece mushísimo.
Sigue inspirando con el gran trabajo brosky.
Saludos desde Caracas, un abrazo.
That’s one wide lens. It looks like your close when taking a photo but when you see the images they are still distant. I’d call that a close combat street camera.
I adore your commitment, excellent work.
Love the picture at 5:56!
Great to see you shooting black and white again! HP5 looks beautiful at 1600, very nice contrast. I'd also be curious to see you try the LC-A 120 sometime.
I really love the review of compact fixed lens cameras. Thanks so much.
B&W street photography and jazz? fire
really nice edit on the streets, shooting 👌
I always enjoy your videos.
Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim is smaller and wide. Tiny, like smaller than a disposable, and 22mm. Have to embrace the lo-fi, distortion look but I love them.
I’m interested in the 15mm viewfinder too!
17mm is a pretty tough focal length for street photography. To have your subject be impactful in the composition, one has to get uncomfortably close. Otherwise, the ultra wide angle just takes in too much stuff. Cool video though and I do love some of the images.
Please kindly recommend the view finder for this camera.
Qué onda Eduardo, la del edificio y las escaleras en 5:51 estuvo muy buena, felicitaciones.
Excellent as always ☺
I was thinking "I'd like to get that", then you reminded me that I have a Bessa R with the 15 mm. Need to get it out, again.
Can you please let me know what 15mm viewfinder you are using. I am looking to add an external viewfinder to my camera.
He aprendido demasiado con tus vídeos, sigue así. Tú contenido es excelente
What is the viewfinder you use exactly?? brand and deets please!
wow, love the shot at 5:50
I wonder if the lens is highly saturated with a color roll, like the original LCA is... that's one of the factors I most like about the original. Fun review, as always!
great work as always! it is cool that you are in my city! you should definitely go to Shibuya :)
Hi Ed! Have you tried the L-CA 120? Please do a vid on that one. 120 super wide! So curious!
When you have the problem with the halfframe/fullframe switch and notice it while advancing to the next photo, I noticed you can still put the switch back to fullframe and turn further.
Also, when you shoot half frame and you want to do that for the whole film, you can put that plastic frame inside of the camera, so you won't have that blurred sides right and left on your pictures. (The frame was with my camera when I bought it, there was also a square one for square pictures)
I love to shoot mutiple exposures on the LC-Wide! :)
The real issue is when you don't notice and you've been shooting half frame for quite awhile. :(
I'm surprised that this never happened to me. But I had quite often a finger in the picture. :( (especially when I asked someone else to take a picture...)
I sometimes use the halfframe turn on purpose to take a panorama picture. And I have to say that I like your accidental shots with the merging pictures very much! :D
If you never really get to use the multiple exposures, have you thought about shooting an entire film twice? I did it once with first landscape and flowers, and then portraits. It could be a good start to use that function more often afterwards.
When shooting wide angle best to shoot close about 4 foot to really get good impact.
Damn, you got some good shots, makes me want a lc wide
5:50 - just perfect.
Another great one
Great again.👍
You should do a “Fran Shoots Film” sometime, where you switch the roles and you record Fran shooting a roll of film with her choice of camera!
I've been trying to convice her of doing this for awhile! Hahah
You were right next to Omoide Yokocho and didn't go there! Well, you missed a really awesome place! ;)
Saludos
I just bought this for €150! Without the half and square masking frames unfortunately. But it has a 17mm lens and is so pocketable!
Even without the half and square masking frames, the full frame pics turned out to be so dynamic! Once I realized I can just confidently get up close to anyone, position myself and snap it, without even being worried about being noticed... We just clicked!
Your subject just looks at you strangely because they notice you. But you make it seem like you never even noticed them
But you did and you're probably violating some copyright and privacy laws in the process
You're a spy with a sneaky fisheye... You're kinda like that guy shooting street photography from the hip with a Soviet-like fondness for thrift stores and garage sales
Im a Brazillian Guy, Analogic Photographer as hobbie since 15. When i bought my first lomo. And take all analogix cameras from my Family
Nunca dejes de subir vídeos por favor! deberías hacer un capitulo usando una diana mini o una la sardina, son cámaras de no tan buena calidad de imagen pero te da unos resultados muy interesantes.
superb wide angle shot at 5:50
Thanks to Fran for her patience shooting this on your holiday!
Hello! Where did you find that 15mm viewfinder? I can't find anything similar, I just got an LC-W and would love to use that VF as well
You got real good!
Wicked images Eduardo
Pretty hecking neato.
What is the brand of that hotshoe viewfinder and where to buy it?
5:55 is very nice. What was your scanning process this time? Seems like it had an unnatural sharpening applied in post. I've had that happen when I was lazy with SilverFast scanning defaults before. Wondered if that's what happened here.
These were scanned with the Pakon 135. I never add any sharpening to the images.
i like your video ! (you have fan in france !!)
hi can you tell me how you transport your film while you're traveling? Does airport X-ray do something to your film?
I wish you make more videos for Color Film shots as well :)
This is the first B/W video I've shot in almost a year...!
I just picked up in MINT working condition, an original LCA, that came with a Mikona flash, for 7 usd!
Bro, want to ask if the red light only light up in right side mean what?
I love that 5:50 shot! Can you tell me the location?
Dónde compraste la correa que se monta en el tornillo del trípode?
I got it at Yodobashi kamera.
I really enjoy your videos!! I love the wider formats. Have you used the limo belair? I know you’ve done a video with the xpan. Which is $$&&. Belair is like the poor mans version!
0:51 where did you find that external viewfinder?
What lens did you use for recording this video? Looks very cinematic.
Great video as always! Have you thought of selling some of your shots? Keep up the awesome work!
How good is that viewfinder to use? I was thinking of buying one on eBay but wasn't sure of the quality.
@eduardopavezgoye Can you share which viewfinder are you using with your lomo lc wide?
welcome !!
I think it is better to use Color film in this episode. I like the colours of streets of Tokyo.
5:50 was my favorite out of this roll.
How can you use multi expo when you can't set neither the shutter speed nor the aperture??
You can change the ASA to a higher number and avoid overexposing.
I see.
are both cameras made in metal?
Tell us exactly what view finder attachment you used and where to find it!
Check out my "Stuff I've been enjoying" video. It's in the "Opinions and Reviews" playlist. I talk about it in there and give the links.
Are the LC-A and the LC-W both metal bodies?
nailed it at 5.50
What film?
Did you ever get recognized in the streets?
What external viewfinder did you use with the LC-Wide? Thanks.
shdala111 the attachable ones are called rangefinders, like the cameras!
You could put a piece of tape over the switch on the bottom to avoid accidentally moving it.
Simple yet nice idea. I'll do it for sure! :)
Nice review and images. You may want to explore the Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim camera as an alternative wide angle shooter. I don't believe they're sold new, but can be found on the used market.
Bendiceme para la PSU ed!!
cheers from bandung
Less aggressive drum track this time, nice
Try Superheadz 22mm. You'll see your finger in frame 😄
I like LCA + more because it is 35mm lens
Gotta get some inspiration on multiple exposures with jorgesato.com , master of the LCA!
One good image at 5:47.
Seco! Me gustó mucho la 4:24
Pd: half se pronuncia haf :)
took me a while to understand what he was saying.
shot at 5:50 was so fucking good. I hate you. Give me some of that talent
Ive always wanted to try the Lomo LC-Wide. 1 LOVE my Lomo LC-A and 1 did a video about our love affair on my channel. Ours is forbidden love. One a camera the other a human. The doctors say we cant have children but were going to try anyway.
Shinjukuuuuuu
You inspired me to shoot around my city and make a photography community for it as well. My project is on instagram if you wanna see! @onthestreetsoflaredo
Hell frame
you kind of Moriyama Daido
are you a hipster ?
