Thanks to all those who made it to the live stream and for those who just found this video. This video provides a pretty good overview of the SOTA program but if there's an area that I need to dig deeper on and elaborate please let me know in the comments below and I'll do another one. Also, here are the links to items mentioned in the stream: Shop at the "HQD" Amazon store on my website at kg6hqd.us/ Link to GAIA mapping - www.gaiagps.com Link to CW Academy - cwops.org/cw-academy-2/ Link to SOTA main website - www.sota.org.uk/ Link to SOTA Beams shop - sota-shop.co.uk/
Thanks Bill! I’m lining up some more trips to the high country these days because it’s too hot down in my area and I like to explore other states while activating. I’m active on Twitter if you’re there too 👍🏻
Great presentation Jerry! Thanks to this I found out I have a couple (non-activated) summits I could almost walk to from my home QTH and dozens more within easy driving. And there are all the APT peaks not too far away and............Mt Katahdin. I GOTTA get home soon.
Are you scheduled to take your test any time soon? If you know somebody who is licensed and willing to go out hiking, take them to a SOTA peak and then you can talk via 3rd party traffic. That'll make sense once you have your license and your "Elmer" will be able to explain it to you as well.
I don't have an in the flesh Elmer, I have been using your's and Hosh's videos. Not scheduled yet but looking to take the test early or mid-August around by birthday.
