In my opinion, Kion would've worked way better with Tiifu at his side. Because Rani is "basically" a female version of Kion they don't really fit together (plus all the reasons you named). Here's why Tiifu and Kion fit better together: While Kion is headstrong, brave and a true leader, Tiifu is more tender, leans into her feminine side and I could imagine that she could look up to Kion and adore him for the way he is. Rani and Kion wouldn't get along for the same reasons as Jo and Laurie from "little women" did not get along as a couple. Also Tiifus tender side would soften Kion while Kion would encourage Tiifu to step out and be bold.
I have always thought that rani and kion both have very independent and headstrong and it would be very hard for them to get along in the long run. My theory is that kion truly loves rani because she is strong and independent unlike some other lionesses such as tifuu and zuri. I think rani never wanted to find love and was perfectly content by herself and saw only something to gain from kion and not someone to love her. I think that eventually lion would figure this out.

I think that Rani and Kion's romance has had been bad written, in rush and with the purpose to find him a love interesrt, whoever. As result, at the end, it ends up an ubalanced relationship, badly and rushed developed. In which Rani seems more interested in the roar than in Kion himself. I don't find strange that at first she is suspicous toward Kion and the Lion Guard, they are strangers after all! But the way she behaves with Kion is so different from the behaviour taken by a fallen teen ager. Cause they are young teen ager, after all. She thinks as a strategist. Maybe she likes Kion, but she likes his power and his roar more. I don't think she loves him, she just appreciates his skills and how they could be useful by her side as ruler. Kion seems to be more involved than her, it seems he has found in her some kind of sympathy or attraction. In the song "The same pride" he sings: 'Why do I start smiling when I hear your name?', something that has a sweet, almost romantical meaning. Rani replies: "At time I think you could be a reflection of me", that is less sweet and less romantic and it reflects some other kind of thoughts. I think that Rani does feel something for Kion, but it's not love. She sees in him a great co-leader. But she is young, maybe she has eve been directed by her grandma (before she dead, at least), and she truly mistakes her appreciation for Kion's skills as leader with love. I don't think Rani is evil or bad. She is not able to split her "work" from her personal life and she ends up to confuse professional appreciation with some deeper feelings.

If Baliyo, someone who was actually attacked by the roar can treat Kion better then why can’t Rani? Baliyo lost his parents too, not just Rani. She is a poorly written character who had no development, we don’t know much about, and is basically a female version of Kion. Smart, Brave, and a leader. The only difference is she has patience(at least that’s what Kion says in their song)

I think your all making assumptions based on writing with time constraints. The show was discontinued and they were rushed to conclude the story instead of letting the relationship build more naturally.
What's conveyed is what matters. If one is assigned a task and procrastinates up until to the day before the deadline. the output is all that really matters.
Even though they had limited time, they should write with sense there's no denying that Rani just wants Kion's roar her actions, words and the way she treated Kion prove this

Well, To be fair, Kion roared at Baliyo in self defense. She did not let kion get a word out, she only let him in because that’s what her grandmother requested, And as for the villains, He offered to help them keep the villains away, but Rani didn’t listen to reason. Throughout the entire season she has barely referred to kion as “kion” It’s always about the roar. However Everyone has different opinions and it’s important to remember to respect them, Even if it’s different from yours. 😌
