As a 360 owner in brasil, I only played gears for the story, loved completing it in splitscreen with my sister. Never played any multiplayer because xboxlive was too expensive, so I'm looking forward on playing this someday.
are you getting an xbox one to play gears 4? playing online is a blast, it is challenging and satisfying. Its very hard when you first play but once you get better it feels good to win and get kills, im so excited for gears 4!

This is the first review I have seen from you. My bro and I were on the fence about buying this game. Within the first 2 minutes, I noticed how organized it was. So, I clicked like. The next thing I noticed within the first 5 minutes was how much detail I was getting, so I clicked subscribe. By the 10 - 12 minute mark, you had given me more than enough information about the game in a shorter time than The Angry Joe Shoe while still providing a just as (if not more) intelligent review. That's when I clicked the bell to be notified about your future videos. On top of that, you told people who dislike the video to hit the thumbs down button (Who does that?! Your honesty makes me happy), you have reviews for all the latest games, AND YOU REPLY TO COMMENTS!?! You have just earned a super-fan my friend!

Even though I do all my gaming on Xbox, Ive never really liked the Gears games. The first was pretty good but I lost interest after that. Picked up this game for the heck of it and Im loving it! Def worth checking out
Play the second game, I haven't played this yet. I just download it yesterday because I wanted to beat 3 first. But please play gears 2. Its amazing

With Gears 5 just on the horizon, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for Gears 4. I liked it back when it released, and after seeing gameplay of Gears 5, I am beginning to think that this may be the most underrated iteration of the franchise.

For people saying that you now have a reason not to buy an Xbone because it's on pc keep in mind Microsoft owns windows and you are buying via the Microsoft store. Bottom line you are still giving them your cash.
Perhaps, but is it the company or the console that people don't want to support? I'm pretty sure those who don't support Microsoft most likely don't buy anything Microsoft. But like me, people have specific reasons not to buy an Xbox One. I still love my Windows 10 and PC gaming and I always will.

ACG Gears look great on PC, especially with the sniper rifle - had so much trouble lining up my shots in a split second with that thing on console.
The problem is that this X1 "exclusive" seems inferior in every way on its intended platform if compared to its PC counter part.

Multiplayer is also great! only problem is the Gnasher online? They need a separate mode. So 90% of the people that only use the shotgun,Can Gnasher all they want, till their hearts content :) But other then that it's so much fun! and hasn't left my x1 since i started playing it.
Its good to see how fast this channel is growing. 140k plus subscribers from when i subbed, which wasnt that long ago.

Would you recommend this game to someone that only plays the SP? Kind of dissapointed that JD isn't as brash or clever as his old man, looks like Marcus does alot of babysitting. Also, as always excellent review.
SuicideSilence621 this is JD fenix's first game, I don't know his deal but I remember in gears 1 a lot of people already knew Marcus Fenix as a badass so maybe his son will have some good character devolpment. And atleast Marcus is in this game! And looking better then ever
Snake For sure, which i why I have my expectations reserved. Game Informer's gloating review said that he feels more like Nathan Drakes child rathar than Marcus Fenix's. IGN didn't have a whole lot to say about JD but still gave it high marks. All in all, can't wait to pick this up on Tuesday.

I'm a huge Gears of War Fan so suffice to say, I've been very excited to play Gears of War 4. I've always enjoyed the visceral combat, enemies, story, pacing, characters and the interaction between the characters when it comes to the Gears of War franchise. Then of course you have the amazing multiplayer which Gears of War has excelled at (although to a lesser extent in Gears of War Judgement). I actually don't mind the new cast of characters this time around. The campaign in Gears of War 4 is suppose to be around 10 hours which is fairly short. Then again you do have multiplayer. Thanks for another solid review Karak. Keep it up!

That is by far the most accurate thing about this review (and the review itself is pretty damn accurate).
My biggest problem with the campaign was how millennial the new heroes were. All they have is snark, poor jokes, and annoying quips. I couldn't tell you a single thing about their respective personalities like I could for the original crew.
Marcus - Grumpy, disillusioned Gear who fights to keep his brothers safe and finally defeat the Locust.
Dom - Jovial sidekick who hides his fears over his long-missing wife. Life-long friend of Grumpy Leader.
Baird - Complete wise ass who covers up his distress with gallows humour and emotional distance. Deep down actually has a heart, however.
Cole - The life of the party. Larger than life character who considers it his duty to keep morale high despite the grim odds they face.
Compared with the original four, there's nothing that stands out about Son of Dom or any of the others. I don't even remember their names, and I only played it a week ago.
JD- Douchey son of a war hero. Ignorant explorer.
Del- Douchey friend of a war heroes douchey son
Kait- Curious and rebellious female. Friends with the two douches
Oscar- Drunken and happy uncle of the group. Father figure of Kait .

Best fucking gears hands down in my opinion, I absolutely adore multiplayer and horde is some of the most fun I had since gears 3. Bounced on my boy's dick to hours on this shit! But yo the fuck is up with these micro transactions coalition and bullshit grinds for packs. Like it takes unnecessarily long for an elite pack. ALSO NIGGA HOW YOU NOT GONNA MAKE BEN CARMINE A PLAYABLE CHARACTER! The fuck

summer of '07 is when i first played gears 1 and it's actually the first 360 game i've ever played. needless to say, even though i played it on a fucking 14" crt tv, my mind was blown that day. i missed 3 and judgment since i don't own a 360 anymore before 3 came out (i should try to acquire a used 360 someday just to play them). gears will forever have a special place in my heart and i'm looking forward to playing this on the pc. oh, and thanks for the review, karak!

I am. I'm really happy it has cross-play so I can play horde with my other friend on PC as well as 2 other friends on Xbox together.
Oh really. So can you play vs multilayer cross platform too? And how's that work with contrler/mouse.
Brian Mann I don't think you can play versus, except for private matches. But I know you can play campaign and horde cross-platform, which is what my friends like to play more anyway.

i would, but the Win10 only + WinStore ( Always on DRM) + DX12only restricitions, made me put the game on my "not to buy" list until MS listen to reason, or until the Warez Scene Releases a "more Customer friendly" Version of it.
I own an Xbox One mainly for the Gears series. I wasn't quite sure in which direction the Coalition was headed but I was willing to give it a shot and your review sold me on it even more. Job well done yet again, sir.

ok for me it does not feel like a gears of war game at all i can't really do anything with XBOX LIVE. But ok i have a xbox live account but unless you have a active account where you can go online and VS other people you can't do shit. for me i rarely play onile for my xbox but i like online on my computer but still without xbox live don't by it NO bots like in 2 and 3 but only a 1v1 with my bro and campaign. Nobody can say that they will always play campaign and it never gets old. hope i did not waits your time thanks :) for me 5/10

It's on sale on the Windows store right now for $10 - the last GoW game I played was I believe III on my 360 and I enjoyed the campaign. It's unlikely I'll play the MP, does the campaign alone warrant a purchse?

A review with fantastic gameplay, oh the humanity!
Nice review. Particularly the final part where you discussed the characters. I found that Del, Kait and Oscar were my favorites here with Marcus doing a great job in the tomato shed after destroying all his plants and playing a great role as a disgruntled dad but JD definitely was the weakest of all the characters. I was hoping for some kind of love interest story with JD and Kait. i was also hoping that James would come out of his "bro" shell and show a bit more depth but he totally played like a supporting character that only shows in a 2 scenes. You don't really feel like you were handling a great hero but instead a submissive whiny kid. Thanks Karak
Also I got the limited edition xbone s and didn't get any frame drops the entire playthrough.

Well from your review I understood that main characters are somewhat uninspired (I just have to have a relatable story in a game, where I can see that devs cared). And on the second note a lot of people was dismissive of Dooms story. But as I playing it now its one of the most immersive games that I played after Witcher 3. Doom guy is even more badass then "B.J." Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein New order:D And I don't even like shooters that much, but now I am contemplating about Ultra-Nightmare...its that good:D. Bethesda and Mike Gordons soundracks made these classic reboots just in a league of their own. So that's why I am asking...where Gears stands in comparison.
