I also fly mostly in VR and I am interested in purchasing this to use with VR. What are some of the features of this yoke you're not able to use in VR? Do you find yourself having to switch between using the VR controllers and this flight yoke? Thanks!
@@johna30 Hi The features I can't use are the 'warning lights' panel that can be customized which is a big one for realism for some flyers. I also don't use the headphone jack. I've had to memorize where the other buttons on the throttle quadrant are so I use those for flaps, landing gear etc. I use either a mouse or VR controller for adjusting instruments or setting up autopilot etc. I have 2 other flight yokes, but this is my favorite by far.
with how Roccat and TB headsets have turned up, its great that their flight sim is right on the money....and they r also releasing rudder pedals too...
I was looking at the rudder pedals, but they won't work with my motion simulator. The flight yoke has rudders control built in so it works better for me.
As a fan of the original Mission Impossible on TV and Mannix , Bruce Geller wrote /produced / directed both. A flying enthusiast, Bruce Geller died when the Cessna Skymaster he was piloting ran into fog and crashed into Buena Vista Canyon near Santa Barbara, California.
The general consensus is the Honeycomb yoke feels better, but the VelocityOne is still acceptable. The VelocityOne provides more features at the same price point so it depends where you see the most value. Both are excellent products in their own right. As a novice I still really enjoyed using the Flight and it wasn’t a distraction for me.
To respond directly to the shaft issues question - Mine never had or has any issues. You can definitely feel the notch for the center point of the yoke, but it doesn't make too hard of a bump to rotate or pull/push out of the center point. My yoke never had sticky issues, even with mild adjustments to pitch once I dialed in my trim correctly.
I asked about this and am being told later this year an update is supposed to add this. They are apparently working with Microsoft on getting it functional. Not sure if it will really happen or not, but that's what I got for now anyway.
I am not a pilot but watched a lot of airplane crash videos during the lockdown. Some horrible accidents were because the pilot/co-pilot did not recognize a stall because the pitot tube was iced over and did the opposite of what was needed. When in a stall trade altitude for speed to get out of a stall. It's amazing that at 30k feet pilots are so dependent on instruments , whereas in a small plane in daylight I think VISUALLY you would know it was a stall.
Hey man great vid and thanks for the tip with it not mapping as a generic xbox controller! Not weird at all, my son is desperate to see if he can play ABZU with it 😂 will still be interesting to try when he gets in
I know people that have this and the shaft will NOT return to center and they have 1/6 inch slop on the shaft into the base right left up and down. Their Plastic yoke does the same thing with sounds of snaping plastic like something is broken. Tech told them this is Normal. lol Wow New it looks good. I don't think I would spend anything on Turtle Beach after seeing what can happen and called Normal. Wow Crazy.
I bought this flight yoke about 8 months ago and I just love it. I fly almost exclusively in VR so I don't use a lot of the features

@@suddenlysolo2170 Thanks for the detailed info! Sounds like it's worth it even if all of its features aren't utilized in VR.
Awesome review. I think I'll buy one of these.

I cant wait to order this with my xmas money
Hmmmmm, how does it compare to the honeycomb yoke? What about the shaft issues? It's it a non issue?

I’ve just ordered one, looks great, will it also work on Elite dangerous’ PC
Does it work for other flight games like Ace Combat 7???
Only thing stopping me pulling the trigger is that the sip currently doesnt work on xbox...😢

Possibly right after SU10 it will be functional and also later this year they are releasing there rudder pedals
So does this work on Xbox now
When you take it off the desk, how do you store it safely and out of the way? How many USB ports does this take up?
I think there is only one USB coming to PC, throttle is connected with usb C to the yoke.

yes it should

Was wondering if it would let you practice stalls and such , and recovery from stalls ?
I haven’t run a sim specifically for it(there’s a ton of scenarios) but you can disable AI anti stall assists and easily force stalls of your own.
@@GadgetryTech Nice.
Great info and video👍
Is it turning 90 degrees or 45?
90 degrees each way :D
Will this work well for DCS?

I feel like a chimpanzee using a mouse and keyboard compared to something like this! :D Incredibly cool aF!
