  • What's there to do in Dapitan? Follow me as I actually stumble into some interesting places. Dapitan is in the North of Mindanao, which in turn, is in the southern Philippines. It's full of history and they sell beer there too.

Marshall, your Dapitan adventure had it all - Hotsilog, historical sites, and hilarious flute tunes! 🎶 I guess you could say you really hit the high notes, even if that flute player didn't 😂. Also, with your hotel room's Nescafe stash, you're practically a caffeinated millionaire in the making! ☕💰 Keep up the fun vlogs and next time, try negotiating a room with WiFi for those 1800 pesos! 😉📶

Given the tone/sound of the flutes, I was anticipating the theme from the Titanic movie but got Take Me Home Country Road by John Denver instead. A nice relaxing-looking place to be for a few days, a good choice.

I think Dapitan is where Jose Rizal also treated his own mother's failing vision.

Why oh why? Why is it that some of my fellow Filipinos, when a local art or artist or a beautiful area catches the interest of a foreigner or a tourist, that there will always be someone who's going to either recommend, or maybe suggest, or maybe even insist to the foreigner or tourist that there's something or somewhere else better. But besides the "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", it's all also usually unsolicited. Beware the one who insists, like in this one. That's just embarrassing.

The Rizal house tour was very interesting and enlightening. It brought me back in time and imagined what our National Hero was doing during his exile. There is also a movie called "Rizal sa Dapitan". It's an interesting watch for Rizal followers. Keep up the good work!

I am from Dapitan City and I am proud to say that our place is safe to tourists. It is where Dr. Jose Rizal was exiled for 4 years.

Another great vlog, made me laugh especially when the "special" flute tune started playing when you went into the Rizal house but looked really hot in there.

Somehow I am quite surprised that you made a special trip to Dapitan, Marshall, as only an interest in Rizal could have brought you there. Isn't it intriguing that he would be banished there then be executed by musketry upon his return to Manila? They took pains to advertise his death on Luneta with a sculpture at the park's premises. I do not buy the programming... The truth is not even close. The Rizal monument at Rizal Park/Luneta features an obelisk...just like the George Washington monument in Washington DC. Rizal was related to the European royalty and was an adopted son of the Mercado family. The vast majority of Filipinos have absolutely no idea of the truth about Rizal. Maybe you know a smidgen of truth?

I think you are way off the mark there my friend. Rizal's story seems easy for me to understand. But, maybe I'm just not enlightened enough. I think he was a great Filipino nationalist and humanitarian, as well as, a genius who lived his life without fear and that he was brave until the end. Read the poem he wrote the night before his execution, "My Last Farewell " or "Mi Ultimo Adios" and I think you will understand the simplicity of that man's genius.
Thank you for your comment too my friend, I appreciate your input.

@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 We studied Rizal in college and read Noli Me Tangere and memorized his poem Mi Ultimo Adios. I know enough lies about Rizal and did much more to learn the hidden truth. It is the hidden truth you need to uncover. Maybe you should read what I posted on TH-cam. It would help.

A lot of Filipinos are ignorant of who Rizal was. He was a brave man who sacrificed his life for the country.
