Strange. I keep returning to this. The anthem. The escalation. The way that life's events are just thrown into one big river. The brutal finale with the drummer tapping out the final heartbeats. And so short - the shortness itself is so brutal
Strange indeed. On a random Sunday afternoon that video came back to my mind and I decided to watch it again after quite a while, only to read this comment of yours. Life is quite the thing, you're right. Hope you're doing fine.
I sadly discovered them the year before they ended, when I was 15. I love their other stuff as well, but this one has really crept under my skin in the best possible way.
I don't know what this group is. But even if they had been silent for 26 years and created only this clip, this time would not have been wasted ... A real masterpiece. Thank you
@@PPdabest - As have I (I'am 54yrs old) and I think that this is a bloody great effort, seeing's how, as the bloke in the very first Post in the whole comment section put it, "It's as if Death was rounding everything from the past ..... for one last March", it's apparently the Band's last Album, so I think what there trying to go for is something like "O.K, let's Sing It Again, Sam" one last time, and saying to their audience as well, "You Must Remeber This", as the title in English apparently means "Then As Now, Forever" , witch just such a cool thing a message perhaps ti their most ardent fans, that they will ALWAYS be there for them, that they may not be together now, or ever again, but, don't be afraid to still march on, into the future with hope, peace and maybe a more than a little love in your heart!!
@@karlmuller3690 Couldn't agree more, and I'm nearly 70!! I was young when performers could write and perform music that was worthwhile to listen to. The 70-ties and 80-ties were the best decades IMO.
I will never, ever, forget their very last concert in Stockholm… 💔🙌🏻❤️. People of all ages crying, singing… very powerful and emotional. A band that sang poetry in Swedish (mostly), sometimes hard to understand (at first), but easy to love. Thank you Kent for all the magic, the great memories and soundtracks of so many peoples lives ❤️
I keep coming back to this, like I’m late to a party. I love how the dogs and horses are so proud to be a part of this. Our best friends make us the best versions of ourselves.
I agree. I shared this video with a female drummer I know and she said she'd never seen or heard anything like it and made it her new mantra. Drums are powerful communicators.
to be honest, i NEVER ever heard of that band (to sad, shame on me) BUT some dude, postet a picture out of the vid + link on a imageboard, so i clicked on it, watched it... 30seconds in to it, i'm getting goose bumps a few seconds later, i cried... i cried becaused it touches me in a way that makes me feel good, i startet to smile an an overwhelming feeling overcomes me. i started to feel, luck, power and passion u know. i enjoyed it deeply and repeated it after and after. the last time i had such a feeling was on m83-outro.... this track, the music makes mee fell good in some sort of way, i'm a little bit depressed for some time but as soon as i listen to this, i start to watch forwards. good god i love when music hit the right spot, the right nerve and you can start imagine things!!! sometimes the ending is just the beginning! thank you so much!!!! (sorry for my bad english)
I've been listening to Kent since their first record and I was about 12 years old then. I really think this video sums up their music very well. They are amazing at creating emotions through their music and lyrics, their music becomes more like art to me and touches you very deeply. In Sweden, Kent was a band that divided people, either you understood it or you didn't.
Just discovered this band as this video popped onto my recommended. From a composition standpoint this is truly a masterpiece. The way it builds from just a single snare drum into a full on orchestra/choir is amazing. Not only that but the way the snare is constant throughout the song but not annoying. As each new layer is added the snare fades into the background. 10/10
Consider yourself lucky! I discovered them two years ago, and I'm amazed by how many really good songs they have. About 20 are amazing, and maaaany more are really good!
I normally don't care for drums, just a load of rattling and clattering I could well do without. This though is different and of course would be a complete flop without the drummer girl.
I thought I've heard the best of Kent, but this, this is not Kent music as know it, this is at another level! I can listen and watch this over and over. Well done Kent! 👽
WOW, I'm in America and 63 years old. I recently found this video and can't get enough of it. I have to watch it at least twice a week. So this band is gone?
I bought an album of theirs when I was in Sweden in the mid 2000s. Love them and when I saw this video I was transported back to the people and culture of a time long ago in my life and then saw it was a retirement announcement. I was a litte crushed and very impressed by the video... also very sad this doesn't exist as a downloadable track.
Now you know what it's like to be someone of my generation who finds some awesome music, and wants to see them in concert, only to find out the lead killed himself in 1979 and the band broke up, or died of a drug overdose in 1970.
I find it fascinating that none of their other music, at least the pieces I have listened to, are anything like this one. This is an amazing piece of music and video. I have listened to it over a hundred times since I found it, by accident.
@@CristiNeagu I have to agree with you. None of their other music is particularly interesting or attractive to me. But this one piece...including the video...is quite something.
This is an announcement video by the rock band Kent, the most famous rock band in Sweden of all time (Edit: Please noice that Abba are not a rock band). They're announcing that they'll do their last album and tour this year with this video. In this awesome video there's a lot of references to their old album covers, music videos and lyrics which makes the video even better if you know about them. For example the tiger, the airplane, the girl in the jeans jacket and the girl on the horse are all from album covers.
+Erik Nilsson Most successful? What about The Hives or Johnossi? There are so many successful Swedish rock bands, and I've never heard of this one. Do you mean most successful in Sweden?
They've sold more albums than both Hives and especially Johnossi, played for 26 years and released 12 albums. No other swedish rock band comes close to that. But since they sing in swedish it's not likley you've heard of them if your not from scandinavia. In Sweden no other band even comes close to them in popularity.
This is a lesson I've learned from music. It has the power to bring us together and celebrate the world around us. I feel that the best thing about TH-cam is it's power to bring together a group of disparate people who want to share the beauty of music. Peace 💚

This has to be one of the best pieces of music AND video art that have ever been made. absolutely brilliant. gives me chills every time. i am very sad that the band stopped, but this finale was an absolute masterpiece.

Why do I keep being drawn back into watching the final video of a band I have never heard of and that showed up randomly on my suggested YT videos? I had to read deep into the comments to find out what this video even meant!
So youtube decides to recommend the last song released by a band that broke up, and the whole video is a farewell to the fans? You guys gonna make a habit of telling people about parties they weren't invited to now?
This song came out the same year that my brother passed away. It's just come up as a recommendation now, 7 years and 15 days after the anniversary of that day and it still resonates so beautifully.
Well i didn't complain about finding, Mozart, Hank Williams, LeadBelly etc etc... Music isn't exactly the daily news popcorn... There are those that love to hear music, and those who love to listen to it...
I'm glad I got this in my recommendations regardless how old it is or that they're not together anymore. I came here a couple of weeks ago and never left...
I do come back regularly just to appreciate the incredible musical talents and visuals shown in thi s one video .......... and, admittedly, to feel so sad that I never discovered them earlier, to be able to appreciate the indirect references to previous works. For the past decade, I've been far too busy watching videos of "current events" unfolding in the world to discover the true golden gems that were being created in the artistic realm.
Whole history of Kent, so beautifully constructed. This is also part of my youth packed in couple of minutes. Four years later, this still made me cry.
It makes me really emotional as well and I have only known about this song for a few weeks now. I really regret not having known the band much much earlier.

This is a rarity, a diamond in the rough of music. Honestly, I rarely ever like a song AND the video but the video made the song even better. I love this
WHY? because personalisation in youtube contents doesnt mean its made personal for you ,but for the people who bribe youtube to corrupt their own algorythm...
I love this Video!
This song is from 5 years ago. Why is this being played in my music list? Why does it bring a tear of joy to my eye? I've never heard of this band before?
I don’t know it makes me cry too it just feels like a massive release like the happy ending of a movie almost, it’s this feeling like you’ve just suffered immensely and now you can see the finish line. So epic.
I feel the same way. There is something about this simple and short song that just grips me. The visuals have a lot to do with it of course. It's eerie and mystical at the same time.

I will never forget you. I had dreamt of visiting and studying in Sweden ever since when I became a big fan of you (in 2007). I made awesome memories for many years with my friend who is also a big fan(it is pretty rare in South Korea) when I had bad and boring days - as many Korean secondary school students go through. And then, finally I visited Sweden last year after I graduated from university, one of my bucketlist items achieved. I traveled in many Swedish cities with their music, and bought their new album 'Tigerdrottningen' at the Pet Sounds, in Södermalm, Stockholm. (Another item left in my bucketlist(about Sweden) is to get a Ph.D. in Sweden. I hope it comes true, too.) At that time, I dreamed that they would last at least five years or more, maybe forever - in the raptures of happiness(because I bought their CD in their homeland) -. Yesterday, they came out with this video 'Då som nu för alltid'. It makes me cry. I know, I have to accept it. Yes, you guys will last forever in my mind as you are, as now. Perhaps, I will go there again this year to see their last tour. Your songs are still my pillar and keep me going when I feel tired of my days. Uhhh, cannot describe how much I love you in my bad English! Literally, I LOVE you guys. Tack för alla era låtar. A sincere fan from South Korea
+Seo-jeong Joo Your text made me tear up. Go back to Stockholm this summer, see them live one last time! I hope you will make a life in Sweden one day.
+stefaneirelius I heard 'Socker' by coincidence, my friend posted the song on his blog in 2006-2007 I guess. That is the first time I heard their song. And now I am studying in Finland now. I wanted to study in Sweden but I couldn't because of the high tuition fee, I can't afford. But i am living close to Sweden, i can get there in 1 hour by plane! But still 'min slutstation är Stockholm.' Stockholm is really meaningful city for me. Kent made my life. :)

Bravo. I'll now be seeking out their other music. Did the different band members go on to create new songs, I wonder...
The references are very cleverly and subtly done. For example, the girl after one minute: her fashion style and hairstyle are clearly from early 2000s when Kent were really in the heyday. Like a typical Kent fan from that time 😊
How very sad, yet somewhat ironic and fitting that I should discover your music only now, long after, and by introduction of your final production. I'll pay my respects, so to speak, by digging up what I can of your catalog. Thank you!

Yes.

I sadly discovered them the year before they ended, when I was 15. I love their other stuff as well, but this one has really crept under my skin in the best possible way.
This is one of those songs I come back over and over again. 💔

I don't know what this group is. But even if they had been silent for 26 years and created only this clip, this time would not have been wasted ... A real masterpiece. Thank you
Yeah man Ive never heard of them before but this is one of the best songs ive ever heard.....and I heard a lot of songs in my lifetime!
@@PPdabest - As have I (I'am 54yrs old) and I think that this is a bloody great
effort, seeing's how, as the bloke in the very first Post in the whole comment
section put it, "It's as if Death was rounding everything from the past ..... for
one last March", it's apparently the Band's last Album, so I think what there
trying to go for is something like "O.K, let's Sing It Again, Sam" one last time,
and saying to their audience as well, "You Must Remeber This", as the title in
English apparently means "Then As Now, Forever" , witch just such a cool thing
a message perhaps ti their most ardent fans, that they will ALWAYS be there for
them, that they may not be together now, or ever again, but, don't be afraid to
still march on, into the future with hope, peace and maybe a more than a little
love in your heart!!

WHERE THE HECK IS THIS SONG!?
I agree. I shared this video with a female drummer I know and she said she'd never seen or heard anything like it and made it her new mantra. Drums are powerful communicators.
Same nice to see something original
Everytime I watch music on TH-cam, 2 or 3 times a week, I watch this and have been since like 2016 when I found it.
I tested your theory and it appears you’re correct.
The video is killer. The opening is sensational. Who would not follow a drummer going into a battle & a fight!?
I'm 78 and I'll play this at least twice a week

30seconds in to it, i'm getting goose bumps a few seconds later, i cried... i cried becaused it touches me in a way that makes me feel good, i startet to smile an an overwhelming feeling overcomes me. i started to feel, luck, power and passion u know. i enjoyed it deeply and repeated it after and after. the last time i had such a feeling was on m83-outro....

Your English is fine wonderful comment
@@Neferens had the same experience

I normally don't care for drums, just a load of rattling and clattering I could well do without.
This though is different and of course would be a complete flop without the drummer girl.

WOW, I'm in America and 63 years old. I recently found this video and can't get enough of it. I have to watch it at least twice a week. So this band is gone?
Mike Kantor yeah, sorry my friend !
I agree, it is beautiful isn't it?
Come to Scandinavia anytime between October and March and you get the "feel" of this every day, any day! (especially the weather) =)
Good ! The same thing .Since I heard it once I come here time and time again

Kinda sad, really. Thought I found a cool new band, but the rest of their music is meh.

👍👍
+Erik Nilsson Thanx for the info I saw a link to this from reddit and had to check it out.
This band sounds AWESOME.
Erik Nilsson Ok, so I guess they're just not as international.
This pops up every few months for me. I watch it every time.

+Seo-jeong Joo Your English is good, actually. May all your wishes in your bucketlist come true.

You can feel the sadness and the hope in this few minutes of Music.
A great way to say good bye to the world.
That's how I feel living in America right now, I hate to say this as a Marine veteran; this great Republic has fallen to her knees much like the Romans and many other nations.
@@dmorgan0628 as a army vet.. I feel the same way brother
when a group retires, this is how they should always say goodbye.

Love this piece. Kent rocks. Great music...now must hear more.
never heard of Kent before this year, i tried listening thru their songs on Spotify, but I say, this is by far the peak for me, I wish I could listen to it on Spotify too, so I could put it on repeat for days. Love it!
I really wish you could understand the lyrics they (Joakim Berg) wrote, larger than life...
@Onionbaron as far as I heard, it is mainly due to being a different genre that I like to listen to. This piece of music are more my type of music than what they have been making
@@thortorin9954 On having a really bad day, I listened to Kevlar soul (Kevlarsjäl) for 8 hours 110db nonstop and it still brings me to tears. Sadly no translation can give justice to the original lyrics... (very few Swedish ppl understand...), But the melody sticks like tar... KENT is Melancholy, absolutely brilliant and intelligent lyrics and large portion of inferiority complex...

@Onionbaron it isn't a bad song, just not something I listen to much, I often listen to music with no lyrics, since for me, melody is key.
Actually a dope beat to this... I am officially hooked
An amazing piece of music. Not complex, but hits you at an emotional level. Sad and magnificent and angry all at the same time. It has the feeling of the dramatic conclusion to a powerful film. Bravo. I'll now be seeking out their other music. Did the different band members go on to create new songs, I wonder...
No, it was just "a perfect mix between Finland and Sweden", that "ended perfectly".
Soon to be NATO-partners, just some "apes between" us
I can definitely picture this in some major part of a Show or Movie! 🎉 Love it! 🎉
reminded my of the troops singing the mickey mouse club theme song!

Thank you!
Yeah, same vibes here! 😅👍🏻
Long live you bra,bro, brother.Zer.
this is pure genius, I love it. I keep finding myself wanting to watch it again.
Can't deny the good vibes. Of things like this we feel from this.
Girl.. =)
