Hi Guys! I want to say how AMAZED I am of all of the wonderful ideas you have shared. If you are interesting in making this project, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out the ideas mentioned below. I wish I had used these when I first started the project. This is truly a testament of how great of a community we have. XOXO
treshaja I love how open you are to others ideas and you're not threatened. Everyone loves this placemat art and suggested making it clear and you praise them? Definitely a new subscriber now. Btw you are soooooo beautiful!!
Either leave the back off altogether, or put another piece of glass or plexiglass behind so you can see through the placemat. Maybe one or two of those battery operated tea lights behind it so it illuminates the art. Great job!!
This is so beautiful! I was a picture framer for 20 yrs and I never thought of doing this:) You are not only beautiful, but highly creative, too--Thank you thank you for this great idea!
Love it Tresh. I think I might try this. I was also thinking that maybe it could be tried using a mirrored frame which I think would take it to the next level. Also if that doesn't work then maybe take the mirrored frame from the dollar store and add that to the back so you could see the mirror through the placemat. I think this would look fabuolus, adding the mirror to it, especially on the black & gold one you did. Thanks for sharing this Tresh, God bless.
Candice Turner great minds think alike that's what I was thinking.... Also if you did the same thing with smaller frame maybe 5x7 or 3x5 and add numbers.... It would make nice table markers... And if you don't glue the place mat you could trade out with different colors to match changing decor
i just wanted to say that you have such a wonderful attitude. I can tell by scrolling through all of the comments that you really care about your subscribers/us fans! You always comment back to people, and thank them for their praise & their new ideas. Even when someone was not so nice w/the way they worded their comment, you still thanked them for their idea. It's really nice to see such a positive person. Also, to everyone, you are all so talented and crafty! I loved not only this video, but everyone else's amazing ideas for changing it up a bit, adding their own style, and how it could be done differently, but w/ the same basic design principles. You are all such talented people. I love doing DIY crafts, but I don't think up fabulous ideas like you all do. So thank you all for sharing w/me (and all the others who love your ideas)!
+Carol Sharma Thank you so much, Carol!! I love what I do and strive to help as many people as I can. It means a lot that you observed this and took the time to share it. I truly appreciate that!! I'm in agreement with you...everyone is so talented and creative!! You can't help but be inspired! What a blessing! 😘🤗
Thought of that myself but, the problem is that when you try to line the placemats up, they are opposites to each other. Better to just get some of the Krylon paint for plastic to match the color on the front and paint the back to match. These are beautiful!!!
I just watched this again. the atmosphere of you letting others share their ideas is terrific. I feel like you're our friend. thanks for creating such a loving exchange ideas. It's nice you don't feel threatened.💕😃
+Marlene Marken Aww Marlene!!! 🤗 I feel the same way. I absolutely love and encourage exchanging ideas on my channel. Two heads are definitely better than one. Thanks for sharing that.
Is it possible to move the frame to the beginning of the block instead of middle. Take off backing, so that it's clear. Then with more surface room, add a candle
Those are really great looking! You could also put colored paper behind the placemat That would make a wonderful tray with candles on it Thanks for the idea - very clever
You could also leave off the glass and use it as a place to hang earrings by just hanging the hook earrings directly on it or by adhering hooks to the backing and having the hooks come thru the openings in the place mat would work also for necklaces on a vanity
I am thinking I will make a variation on this. I have a window which has no privacy but I do not want to cover it with curtains or blinds. So I am going to get some of the placemats and make a frame that I can attach to my window so that light can come in, and I can see out but people passing cannot easily see in. Thanks for the idea.
Robyn Jones, that's a good idea. Also check out using lace or other cloth to keep people from seeing in, and liquid starch to affix it to the window. It washes right off if you move or want to change the look.
You did it again! I will try this, but I will use 2 frames, and only use the frame glass to replace the cardboard backing with the second frames glass so you can see through it!
I like the way you think!! One of my own DIy projects is a wrought iron bench that I found at a garage sale for about $10. It came with a white seat cover. Using my handy screwdriver and different fabric that I had and changed that $10 garage purchase into a beautiful bench that I had at the foot of my bed where I can sit while I put on my shoes!! Since I do a lot of sewing I have loads of fabric so I can change the fabric whenever I feel like it!
+Brenda Davenport That's wonderful, Brenda!! I love hearing stories like this. It's empowering to fix, convert and make things that are beautiful, as well as, functional. Thanks for sharing! It's amazing what you can do.
I love this idea!!!! You could put fabric behind your place mat - even an old T-shirt - black - pink whatever color you have in your room. I am making one for my desk for sure. Thanks!
I purchased those placemats from Walmart a year ago and they're on my dining room table, I'm looking to replace them with others because I wanted a new look for my table, I was trying to figure what to do with them and this has given me a great idea to square them off and I might use the scraps to make something else, but thank you so much for sharing....it's amazing how other ideas pops in your head when looking at someone else creative ideas. Love the plaque I'll be checking out more of your videos 🙂
That's a great way to display my beautiful crocheted doilies. No one uses doilies like Grandma use to and mine have unique techniques like a triple crochet added to a previous row. Thank you
Beautiful!!! You inspired me to make one. I used a precut mat for the backer board and illuminated it from behind with battery operated pillar candles on stands, you could probably also use fairy lights.
Hi, Instead of spending time at Michael's, I'm not sure if you have lumber yards, or furniture factories, but here in N.C. we do. I go to them in their dump sites and get all the FREE scraps I need! The wood you was using is considered to be scraps. We also heat with that size wood in our wood heater. I really enjoy your diy videos, you get right to it! Keep up the good work!
Construction paper could be used, if you want it to sparkle underneath you can spray the paper with adhesive spray then sprinkle glitter of you color choice let dry then finish. Have a great time.
Very clever, I always see beautiful things in ZGallery, but seriously, I would not pay that much for what it is. This was an awesome way to replicate that look, I would have glued another glass on the back, like some of the comments before me mentioned. I loved this idea. Great job!!!
So flipping creative. Next project after the other10, 15, 100 ones on my way home my list! You ladies have just lit my creative spark exponentially and I love it!!
You gave me such an awesome idea!!! Thank you!!!! I crochet and tat doilies. the frames and stands will always be complimenting colors. I could do 1 frame but enclose the doily in 2 panes of glass that way it would be visible from both sides. I'm so freaking excited to do this!!!! omg and super inexpensive gifts, Christmas, birthday, HOUSEWARMING!!!
This is a beautiful easy diy, The only thing I might add is buying two of the same size picture frame. I will use only the glass of the second frame to place it at the back of the placement mat to make it a see through but still looks finished
DOLLAR STORE TO THE RESCUE!!! Love this piece. The placemats are an excellent idea. This looks as if it could blend into so many places for that extra touch of elegance. Tfs!!!!! (I can tea lights dancing behind this. )
Ideas; A raw edge would be amazing, especially on the first placemat. It would make for a larger statement piece as well as make it more visually interesting A round moment would be great, with no frame , it would look more like a free standing sculpture than a photo in the frame. Filling in certain spots with a stained glass see-thru glue would be so pretty and make a great light catcher ❣️
I love it with stand. I created one for a friends office I just didn't use placemats I used wrapping paper for the back drop and she uses it as a set erase board. I have created clutch purses with placemats though.
Hey sis! Using it as an erase board is a GREAT idea!! Wow, a clutch purse with placemats?? 😱 I hope you are going to do a video on that. I would love to watch that. AMAZING!! 😀
Great idea! I have the gold placemat so I will be doing this. You can also paint the cardboard black or white and add a light coat of irredescent glitter to make it pop more. The possibilities are endless!
Very cute. I was thinking about the possibility of instead of the back that came with the frame use another piece of glass. I think that would be nice also.
AMAZING!!!! Kelly, where have you been all my life! Why in the world did I not think of that. Geese! Thank you so much for sharing that! Something so simple but is so great! 😱😀
I have seen the At Home stores in my city. I’ve never gone in though. I gave been using the placemat from Walmart for my projects. Thanks to you I know where to go for more options! Your project turned out lovely. I really loved the black one.
Put it between two pieces of glass would have been nice to see. I appreciate your effort it's inspiring me. Going to add this to my list of projects when my daughter moves out. Fabulous on a budget. Thanks for sharing!
I really enjoyed this video, "New way of using placemats". I was even thinking for a teenager/college student (although my teens are old now), maybe using a solid color mat so to be able to use wet/dry markers for notes! I'm gonna do this for me and if I remember I'll send you a pic of how I did. Thank you for the treat!
Really gorgeous. I think I would place a glass on the back side instead of the cardboard backing to see right through. Thanks for sharing. I love it!!!!
You my friend are genius!!! Love this project. Like you said, so customizable, easy, nice execution with a beautiful, artistic result. Well done lovie!! Envious from Las Vegas ♤♡◇♧
Thanks for sharing this cool project. I think a sheer colored vellum behind the place mat, would also be nice, especially when the light shines through it.
treshaja I think combining the idea of moving the frame forward to the front of the block and replace the backing with colored glass or even thin, stiffened tissue paper would look great hung on the wall with some sort of light behind it (like a battery operated votive candle). I can picture this looking really nice on the wall on both sides of a fireplace.
What a sharp easy project! I love it & will use it as a gift-making project. Usually, easy is tacky to me... I know you know. This is fabulous! Thx so much. Mary
Love it Tresha, I'll be doing one, leaving the glass off and buying a battery clock set and hands from Michael's. I might use is for the wall....great!! I've been wanting a new wall clock. I'm gonna make another for the table without the clock. Thanks babe..
Love it for foyer table decor. Love it coastwise as well. Thought of cutting a couple pieces off of a dowel(1-2-inch pieces) spray paint metallic color, glue to wood block & bottom of pic frame to add some height to it. Also leave see thru no backing. Thx for idea. Keep 'em coming
Very clever. You could colour coordinate the backing to match decor. Another idea is to paint/apply an iridescent pearl "unicorn - like" to the placemat maybe adding a few hidden pearls. Lots of diy customizing possibilities. Cheers Susan 🐾
I would leave it completely open to make an earring holder. Hot glue in the mat. No glass, no back. And maybe put epoxy into the edges of the frame where it is glued in for stronger hold.
What an elegant way to create a dry erase marker to coordinate in the kitchen! I think I'm going to make it (my background under the placemat will be Hunter Green) and use chalk paint (antique white over hunter green again then light sanding to let the green peek through the white) to 'shabby' the frame then the glass can be the dry erase surface. Oh it's going to be perfect for grocery list on the fridge (I'll glue magnets to the back of the frame). Great inspiration, thank you!
I love it! Looks expensive this will be something I will be making. Beautiful accent piece! Funny I was looking at the round natural placemats and thinking what can you do with these besides a placemat. I really like your idea . I think someone would love to receive as a gift and you could make it to match the colors in their home. Maybe white frame with the placemat spray painted the very popular blue/turquoise leaving it transparent or with a white background. So many options!!!
Treshaja, Try back lighting it with some mini lights from the dollar store. Make it without the stand and hang it on the wall in your entry hall. The mirror or some kind of reflector near the entry way is a very Feng Shui thing to do. My understanding is that when someone comes to your door, they will invariably look into the mirror and by doing that, if they have any bad energy it will reflect back onto them and not be left there to influence your home. You could also get a deeper frame and back it either with a thin mirror or a sheet of gold or silver foil, maybe half of it silver and half gold, setting it diagonally. For that one, When you lay the place mat in, place spacers about 1/4 inch thick behind it, then lay the mirror behind the spacers. This will give it more dimension. Really Cool !
Like what you came up with as a idea to replicate that expensive one in store. I was thinking it might be nice with a mirror behind it as another take on that idea. Thanks for the fun ideas you come up with.
I would either print the scripture on a clear sheet like for an overhead projector. This has to be done with a laser printer, NOT an ink jet. They use different types of ink and the ink jet won't dry on the plastic. The other way is to use the very small script, stick-on letters and place them on the front of the glass. Good luck.
I think it is VERY clever !!! One thing I might try is to put a solid color behind the placemat that would bring out other colors in the room I'm going to put it in. Thanks for your details in doing this project. Just found you look forward to your next project.
Turned out beautiful. I loved them both. I also really like Z Gallerie's look, but the prices can just be plain stupid at times. So, make it yourself! 😀 Thank you for the ideas and thank you for the video.
I absolutely love this idea and can't wait to try it! I think I will get some thick/short wooden dowels, paint them and put them between the frame and wood blocks to give it a floating look! 👌🏾
Wow. so pretty, crafty, creative, and budget friendly!! I'm thinking tons of stuff that can go in those frames...Dollar tree....gift bags or 3d spoon decor (w/glass left out). TFS...we love your tips...keep up the inspirations!!👍
Hello, I love your art piece. I especially love the placemat from At Home. We just recently had one open very close to me. The only thing I would do differently is to use copper spray paint for the frame and wood blocks. I am a copper fanatic. Thanks for the excellent decor idea.
+Maureen Riley Hi Maureen! At Home has tons of great items. Love going there! Too bad I don't have one near me. I try to go whenever I'm out of town and see one. Love the copper idea!! That would be pretty and modern looking. Thanks for sharing that.
I love this project. it's simple, functional and pretty. I was thinking of making one for my 16 yr. old grandaughter with a collage of photos for her birthday.
This is a very good idea! I will be trying this soon. probably for my mom house. I was thinking, in the original piece I see there are two chrome looking poles between the block and the actual art work. I'm going to spray paint two cork skrews in the place of the poles and see how that looks.
Hi... Gurl, I love this and will definitely be making this for my Burgundish Red and Leopard bedroom. The way it's decorated... I get a lot of compliments on it. This would be an added accent. Thanks much!!!
Really glad you hit it out of the ball park with this one!!! its nice to know you can make a lot of things a lot cheaper then paying almost and arm and a leg good job and thanks for sharing ...awesome video.
Thank you for posting....we have so many talented people on TH-cam....Shout out to all the commenters for giving such great variety to the project too... will be using some of those ideas as well.
alright now........u go gurl............who would have thought u could make such a gorgeous piece out of a placemat. I have that gold pineapple placemat I bought from Hobby Lobby.....which to me is to big to use as a placemat unless u have a gigantic table.............lol......it has just been sitting her gathering dust.......lol.......now I know what I can do with it............thanks for sharing another great diy.
+Karen Ross LMBO!! Thanks Karen!! I know... who would have thought. No need to let the placemats keep collecting dust. LOL! I love seeing your comments. 🤗
Cool idea...I would have lined LED lighting in the back without using the black backing used it as a light feature. Two heads are definitely better than 1. You've inspired me to make this lil project I happen to have lots of frames & LED lighting to make this. Thanx for the inspiration.
This is so dope Treshaja!!! What about painting the back of that cardboard so that it can be a cute wall hanging...I think that the pipes someone else mentioned would be great and that candle idea that was mentioned earlier would be great as well! Another fantastic project!
I really like this, to mimic the original I would have used a long door handle.. but girl I really like your version too..I'm definitely trying this project. Thank you 😊
Great idea. What about buying two Dollar Tree frames and place glass on front and back for a see-thru look. Remove the tabs from the back of frame and just hot glue around the edges of the back glass. Loved the placemats you chose. Never thought to use something like this for art. Thanks.
Treshaja this is so beautiful; such an easy project to make! In the '90s I did something similar with Christmas placemats to jumpstart the season. Everyone was happy...lol! Do you think you can post prices of items you find in stores & compare to the final price of your project to compare? I love to see savings & share with others. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless!
I love it, you are very clever!!! this could be used at a wedding w pix of the bride & groom on the guest tables!!! you could do pix back to back, so you see pix on both sides!!!
Love the results, the placemats are gorgeous, would leave one see thru. Z Gallery ugh! the prices are really high. Gorgeous but high. Thxs for sharing.
This is pretty. I think that if You spray paint or just put a dark or black paper behind the placemat; it would really make the metallic placemat pop! I am think inking that this would make an Awesome faux screen to put in front of the faux fireplaces that people have in their homes. It is just a thought. Maybe, I would need to use more placemats and a larger frame but I think that I am going to give it a try. Thank You for the directions and the project. It is really pretty.
Now you know you are My Girl lol.... You already know i think it wud be REALLY CUTE using broken mirrors as well with grout... Never tried it but i think it will be cute as well.... Love it hunnie 🔥🔥
I would add more frames to it, use the mirror technique to create an endless mirror look, set mini lights in the center and then add to the outside of the frame gold diamond wrap. I would add diamond wrap to the base all around too. GORGEOUS!
I love your redesign. I was thinking that maybe with the deep frame if it's deep enough to add another glass to the back, the view would be two sided. I'm going to try it.
I love the lacey like placemats! Clearly I have to pay more attention when in the housewares department! I've never noticed them before! LOL. I am deff gonna look for similar ones next time I'm out shopping. I just got frames from the Dollar Tree. Now a great use for them! Thanks!
two frames and then use the glass from the other frame for the backing. and you an glue the other frame to it to give it a deep look. yours was beautiful. love the flower one.

I was going to say the same thing :)
Brandi Flores. that was ny idea as well
or maybe a rope light?
I was thinking the same! Awesome :)

You're so welcome and now I'm subbing to your channel--You inspired me today:)
So awesome!! Thank you so much 😊
This would be nice as a nightlight. The light would cast some nice shapes through the placemats.
+S. Y. I love that idea!! 💡 Very pretty! Thanks for sharing 🤗
S. Y. I would love to do this idea with blinking lights!👍 I'll give credit to you ladies!

Where is the best place to put the tea light so it's not seen?
Wow! How nice, easy and affordable is that ? I'm glad for crafters like you that I can learn from. Thanks.

Brenda Marine or use a glittered sheet that are used for scrapbooking. those sheets alone can be decorations lol.
I have the placemats from Wal-Mart and i was wondering what I could do with them well there I have it thank you! 💕💕💕
+GreenCrystalRose My pleasure!! Those are the cutest placemats. I was so surprised to see them at Walmart. 🤗
I love this project and I have the same place mats! You just gave me a great idea for my front entry table. Great job sis! 😉

Thanks! The gold one is from Walmart. The silver is from At Home.

That would be so pretty! I love that idea. 🤗
I like yours better than the $400 one... GO GIRL !
+Nie's World LOL!! Thanks, girly!!
Put it between two pieces of glass would have been nice to see. I appreciate your effort it's inspiring me. Going to add this to my list of projects when my daughter moves out. Fabulous on a budget. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing!
im.totally Stealing this idea...YUP.
thanksss ❤👏🌻👏🌸love it love it
LOL! That's so awesome, Sharon!! I'm flattered! Love your channel. Thanks for stopping by!
I would like to find a way to put dowels or pipe on it like the one from Z Gallerie. Really like this idea. Thanks.
lem4100 You can find those dowels for cheap at The Home Depot
+lem4100 Thank you so much!
Putting deep blue velvet behind the mat came to my mind ;-)
Thanks for sharing! The darker would bring out the placemat, for sure.
I really enjoyed this video, "New way of using placemats".
I was even thinking for a teenager/college student (although my teens are old now), maybe using a solid color mat so to be able to use
wet/dry markers for notes!
I'm gonna do this for me and if I remember I'll send you a pic of how I did. Thank you for the treat!
Thanks Ruth! That's a great idea. Can't wait to see a pic of it!!
I would have used a dollar tree candle holder for the base painted silver or maybe a little bling
+Sonia Cheek Thanks Sonia!
Really gorgeous. I think I would place a glass on the back side instead of the cardboard backing to see right through. Thanks for sharing. I love it!!!!
Thanks, Angela! That's a great idea!!
You're welcome!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful idea.
OMG!!! I can now use this as a wall decor your the best TFS
Yes!! That's such a great idea! I think I'm going to do that too LOL!
June Faleafine
Yes! Wall art using different sizes & patterns...what a wow that would be!
treshaja I think combining the idea of moving the frame forward to the front of the block and replace the backing with colored glass or even thin, stiffened tissue paper would look great hung on the wall with some sort of light behind it (like a battery operated votive candle). I can picture this looking really nice on the wall on both sides of a fireplace.
Thanks Kim for sharing!! That's a great idea!
treshaja thank you! I LOVE your channel by the way! I've shared several of your videos with friends and on fb and folks always enjoy them too 😃
What a sharp easy project! I love it & will use it as a gift-making project. Usually, easy is tacky to me... I know you know. This is fabulous! Thx so much. Mary
LOL! I know what you mean, Mary. Thank you so much for watching. These will definitely make wonderful gifts.
I love. Will make a few tweeks, but will definitely do. I swear I need to have a YT channel because all I do is diy
I say go for it!!! You never know who you will help! Thanks for watching 😀
Kenisha Patton do it 👍🏽
Love it Tresha, I'll be doing one, leaving the glass off and buying a battery clock set and hands from Michael's. I might use is for the wall....great!! I've been wanting a new wall clock. I'm gonna make another for the table without the clock. Thanks babe..
+Nancy Peters Very pretty, Nancy!! 🤗
+Ruth P Ruth, I really love your ideas!! Thank you for sharing 😊🙋🏽
treshaja ml
Looks very elegant !!!
+Mommy Garcia Thank you!!
Very clever.
You could colour coordinate the backing to match decor. Another idea is to paint/apply an iridescent pearl "unicorn - like" to the placemat maybe adding a few hidden pearls.
Lots of diy customizing possibilities.
Cheers
Susan 🐾
+Susan May Wow!! Love your ideas! The possibilities are endless. Thanks for sharing 💡
I would leave it completely open to make an earring holder. Hot glue in the mat. No glass, no back. And maybe put epoxy into the edges of the frame where it is glued in for stronger hold.
I like that idea!! Thanks for sharing
TexasGemTree I thought that too x
I had the same idea! Perfect to display all those earrings as art! 😄
Oh wow! What a great idea, Ruby. That's going to be nice!
STUNNING! A must!!!Cathryn
+AMATEUR DECORATING LIKE A PRO Thank you so much!!! I appreciate you! 💕
Thanks Nina!! I'm so happy you're going to make it. These are great gifts and totally customizable. Love your idea.
Great recreation! I really like the black one. 👍🏾👍🏾
+Caulette Nicole Yes! The black one is so sleek!! Thanks Caulette!!
+MerAngel12121 Thanks for sharing! That's a great idea! 🤗
this is my next project.. but in copper
+latoya laidley Love copper!!! Happy Crafting 😊
Like what you came up with as a idea to replicate that expensive one in store.
I was thinking it might be nice with a mirror behind it as another take on that idea.
Thanks for the fun ideas you come up with.
Thank you for sharing!! I like the mirror idea 🤗
Make it into a charging pot for a device, like the iPad! It is a pity for the back to stay unused!
Great idea!
Absolutely beautiful...well done and thank you for being articulate and crisp with your instructions. I have also used placemats as stencils.
Thank you very much!! I appreciate the compliment. That's a wonderful idea to use it as a stencil. I love that.
very pretty how about add scripture wording to enhance the look!
+Alberta Sulik That's a great idea! I like that a lot! 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Alberta Sulik How were you thinking of doing the lettering?
I would either print the scripture on a clear sheet like for an overhead projector. This has to be done with a laser printer, NOT an ink jet. They use different types of ink and the ink jet won't dry on the plastic. The other way is to use the very small script, stick-on letters and place them on the front of the glass. Good luck.
I think it is VERY clever !!! One thing I might try is to put a solid color behind the placemat that would bring out other colors in the room I'm going to put it in. Thanks for your details in doing this project. Just found you look forward to your next project.
+Linconok Connett Thank you, Linconok! Adding a solid color behind it would definitely bring the placemat out. I appreciate you sharing that. 🤗
You do amazing job of narration, some folks talk and talk, I get bored and turn it off.....wonderful idea using place mats
Aww thank you!! I appreciate that. 💕
Turned out beautiful. I loved them both. I also really like Z Gallerie's look, but the prices can just be plain stupid at times.
So, make it yourself! 😀
Thank you for the ideas and thank you for the video.
Tresha, I love this project, especially the black and gold Makati plaque. Great job! ♡♡♡
+Lolly Pop Thank you so much!! 💕
I absolutely love this idea and can't wait to try it! I think I will get some thick/short wooden dowels, paint them and put them between the frame and wood blocks to give it a floating look! 👌🏾
Thanks Brittney!! Great idea 😊
Wow. so pretty, crafty, creative, and budget friendly!! I'm thinking tons of stuff that can go in those frames...Dollar tree....gift bags or 3d spoon decor (w/glass left out). TFS...we love your tips...keep up the inspirations!!👍
AMAZING!!! I see your wheels are turning LOL. These are wonderful ideas!!! I made 2 of them so that I could give one as a gift. Thanks for sharing!
That would be so nice as a birthday gift!!!
I would've loved to see a vibrant spring color behind the floral place mat. I think that would've been super cute 🤗❤
Thanks Mona!! A vibrant color would look great!!! I only had these two colors at home. 😊
This is a very good idea! I will be trying this soon. probably for my mom house. I was thinking, in the original piece I see there are two chrome looking poles between the block and the actual art work. I'm going to spray paint two cork skrews in the place of the poles and see how that looks.
+Sha Finally Natural That's a very creative idea! I would to love to know how that worked for you. Very interesting. Are you on Instagram?
You're welcome!
Thank you for posting....we have so many talented people on TH-cam....Shout out to all the commenters for giving such great variety to the project too... will be using some of those ideas as well.
+hawneebee You're welcome!! Yes I completely agree with you. There's so many talented and creative individuals on here. There's so much to learn!
alright now........u go gurl............who would have thought u could make such a gorgeous piece out of a placemat.
Thanks Anna for sharing!! Adding the LED light is going to look so Fab!! Happy Crafting 🤗
You are a girl after my own heart. Light and mirror idea priceless!
+Sherry Oliver Thanks Sherry!!
Beautiful easy decor project!! I loved the one you made in black. It looks very high end~ Gorgeous!!
Thanks Joan!
This is so dope Treshaja!!! What about painting the back of that cardboard so that it can be a cute wall hanging...I think that the pipes someone else mentioned would be great and that candle idea that was mentioned earlier would be great as well! Another fantastic project!
+The Life and Chronicles of a BBW Thank you so much!! Yes! I love all of those ideas. I'll be trying them. 💕
I really like this, to mimic the original I would have used a long door handle.. but girl I really like your version too..I'm definitely trying this project. Thank you 😊
Thank you!!
I would have glued cork to the back to have a message board for my desk. Might come in handy!! Great look!!!!
Great idea. Thanks Nancy!!
Trying it and bling will DEFINITELY be a factor! Lol! Nice job Treshaja!
You never can have enough bling! LOL! Love it! 😊
Great idea. What about buying two Dollar Tree frames and place glass on front and back for a see-thru look. Remove the tabs from the back of frame and just hot glue around the edges of the back glass. Loved the placemats you chose. Never thought to use something like this for art. Thanks.
+Diane Johanson Love that idea! And the mirror one too. 🤗
God bless!
+Fila Mom Thank you! I can definitely try to do that when possible. Many blessings!
I love it, you are very clever!!! this could be used at a wedding w pix of the bride & groom on the guest tables!!! you could do pix back to back, so you see pix on both sides!!!
Love that idea, Susie!
Hi there. I'm in awe at the results of your project. Loveeeee it. Very beautiful.
Thanks Diana!!
this is an amazing project think I will do this but might put a contrasting color behind to enhance the pattern
Thanks Margaret! That's a wonderful idea. 🤗
You can also use colored cardstock behind the placemat to give it some color as well.
That's a great idea!!
I would have liked to see a final view of the commercially prepared one and yours with a cost comparison. Great job on this!
Thank you!!
Love the results, the placemats are gorgeous, would leave one see thru. Z Gallery ugh! the prices are really high. Gorgeous but high. Thxs for sharing.
Thanks Evelyn!! A see though one would be so pretty!
Great idea, add a flameless candle behind it, especially around holidays use theme placemats.
Sorry about the typo. It was just suppose to say I was thinking.
You're welcome!! Making a screen for the fireplace sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing!
Now you know you are My Girl lol.... You already know i think it wud be REALLY CUTE using broken mirrors as well with grout... Never tried it but i think it will be cute as well.... Love it hunnie 🔥🔥
+Erica Saunders LOL Thanks Erica!! The broken mirror would definitely look very pretty! That's a great idea 💕
I would add more frames to it, use the mirror technique to create an endless mirror look, set mini lights in the center and then add to the outside of the frame gold diamond wrap. I would add diamond wrap to the base all around too. GORGEOUS!
+Diana Nighthaven Very nice!! Love that idea!
I love your redesign. I was thinking that maybe with the deep frame if it's deep enough to add another glass to the back, the view would be two sided. I'm going to try it.
Thank you!! Another to the back is a great idea.
I love the lacey like placemats! Clearly I have to pay more attention when in the housewares department! I've never noticed them before! LOL. I am deff gonna look for similar ones next time I'm out shopping. I just got frames from the Dollar Tree. Now a great use for them! Thanks!
LOL!! Thanks Lizzy! Happy Crafting 🤗
Love this idea. i would probably spray paint the background in some color...or maybe just leave blank so see through. love the ideas u have.
Thanks Susan!
two frames and then use the glass from the other frame for the backing. and you an glue the other frame to it to give it a deep look. yours was beautiful. love the flower one.
+Kellie Westley That's a great idea!
Thank you
