I am watching this as I am in the process of stripping down the carbs on my '88. Very helpful indeed. Cheers

Haha, looking forward to the rebuild, lol. Well done getting them apart, I can see you watching this video a few times to see where bits go during the rebuild. Looking forward to seeing the cleaning result.

Hopefully the Ultrasonic cleaning fluid will arrive tomorrow. I can't wait to see what sort of a job it does. Only one problem..... March 1st, fishing starts!
I'll be wetting a line instead of wetting some carburettors. Still, there's always the next day.

Yes, interesting to see the cleaning result, I've never seen ultrasonic in action. And now fishing season, you're a very busy man, I'm surprised you ever had time to go to work, lol.

Hi. Great videos, full of detail and info. I have recently acquired a 1991 rc36 and about to strip and clean the carbs, it has sat for while and the petrol drained down to the sump. I'm going to replace the o rings on the pipes between the carbs when i get to them, along with a carb rebuild kit. Are you able to tell me where I might get the o rings please I cant seem to find them online or do i go to honda? Any help is much appreciated, thanks Chris.

Hi Chris. I got the 'O' rings from a company based in Dublin called AbbeySeals. They have all the info you require to order. Hope this helps.

@@AlistairCampbell1047cc hi, thanks for the quick reply. I will give them a call and take it from there, hopefully back to riding around skye very soon. Thanks again.

if u remove the idle mix screw it helps if the orientation is vertical so gravity helps keep spring, washer and o-ring together.
far too many ppl think its necessary to spend hours taking every single piece off a set of carbs for cleaning, when in very many cases, just clearing out clogged idle jets in about 15 minutes is sufficent to restore proper running to our vfrs. seems like youre a relative novice at this task, so may be too soon to begin lecturing. choke plungers can be lubed w/o fussing around, just pop the rubber end cover up and shoot in some oil or spray lube, ez.
