It really was an experience where you can pick up any game and get right into it. Barely any loading times, so many great 3D platformers that made use of that control stick. (Except Gex)
Yes, You have the Watermelon funtastic like me! I just got it about three weeks ago at Too Many Games! I'm at about half the N64 set so far! Just have a few more funtastics and the Gold left to get for the collection. Love your video! Absolutely love watching N64 videos and I can tell you have a lot of passion for the N64! Very well done!
Missed out on Too Many Games this year but definitely hope to try to make it next year. Wish I could get all the funtastics but I'd satisfied with the red for now. My first time playing N64 was when my parents were shopping for a new home and one of the kids at the house we were viewing let me play banjo tooie lol
You got a great collection there buddy. Some of those games look really cool. I like all the platformers. Some of those third and first person shooters look great. Unfortunately I don't have anything but a Rayman 64 cartridge I found. No console to try it on so don't know if it works. I vaguely remember playing Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64. DK64 always stayed fresh in my mind because it's the only 3D DK game. I sure wish we had more DK in 3D. Is it too late to invest in the 64? I might consider it but I don't want to go crazy on it. My problem is I don't have a retro TV to play it on. So if I can't get it to work on my modern TV then I may have to pass on it. I love to get one of those translucent 64 though. Either the green blue or the Pickachu one.
I do agree, Donkey Kong has so much potential for 3D games that while I love the more recent DKC Returns/TF games I really wish they would try something new and epic. Not sure how good it'll be since it won't be Rare developing it though. As for being too late? I honestly don't think so but my financial situation isn't going to be the same as everyone elses. Most of the expensive games on it are the first party ones and the platformers so if that's what you're looking for then yeah, it's not easy but it's also not impossible as say the Sega Saturn. There is a lot of overlooked games that came out for the N64 and while some of them made it to the modern era with remasters, some didn't. Getting the best picture out of it does take work but honestly an S video cable with an upscaler like the Retrotink 5x is worth it in my opinion.
@@ScorpioCesarcade I'd probably definitely want to grab some of those platformers. But it's nice that some of them have made the transfer to other platforms so you don't have to break the bank going for those.
At first it was totally fine for me to sell my N64 but i sold it way too much under the price in a second hand shop but I needed the money because I wanted to buy my first DJ Mixer. I got 200€ for the console, two Controller, expansion pack, memory pack, and 11 games. Ouch… well, in the end it helped me a lot to become a DJ but i always felt I sold it way to cheap and it still hurts to that day and compared with the mixer, the mixer was ass cheap crap because of what I got paid for the console… Ever since than I am thinking about getting another N64 although I am not gaming too much so I keep me entertained watching other people’s stories about this special console. Anyway, I had Shadowman and I loved it! it’s like a blockbuster. It had the real German voice actor for Whoopi Goldberg and other actors are featured and the German Synchronisation in General was mind blowing at that time. This game has a special atmosphere that for me was very special. Thanks for your video man. ❤
It’s crazy how we let go of our consoles back then. I’m also guilty of doing the same with my original SNES and Gamecube. We did what we had to do and at least selling the N64 helped you become a DJ. Have you ever considered emulation or just getting an everdrive with an N64? Shadowman is such a cool game, I’m amazed by its production values considering the N64 wasn’t really known for having voice acting in games. I really gotta play more of it!
Yes, i always have to remind me why i did let go my N64 but if i could travel back in time i would stop myself… yes i considered the idea of an everdrive… maybe one day, i am still to broke to just get it because of my health situation money is always to low to just get it… but maybe one day i will! Until then i just enjoy your videos ❤!
My favorite game is probably no mercy or diddy kong racing, and the worst is doom 64. It's not good at shooters, and it is rough and super dark. I was into ps1 at this time. I am 41 now and thought it looked kiddy at the time but love the n64. That watermelon console is amazing. I want to get the fire orange one eventually and swap my rgb board like you want to do.

He slapped the 🤬 out of you. Good times 😂😆 I have an extremely small Nsixty four collection. There's just not really any rpgs on the console. That generation I was playing Playstation & Saturn. Saturn is my favorite! My favorite game on N64 is Ocarina of Time.
Yeah, nobody made me laugh in the 1st grade quite like my friend, Nile so the slap was easily forgiven. If you're a JRPG fan then yeah, you're not going to get anything out of the N64 library worth a damn. But at least the Saturn and PS1 had you covered well!
It will be interesting to see if they put Pokémon red blue and yellow on switch online service and allow transfers to the stadium series. Even if they did that though, there’s still nothing better than loading up a cartridge into the jumper pack and sifting through your team on the actual n64 console 🥹
I wondered about that too, honestly if it was done through Pokemon Home then perhaps it could work but I don't know if they'd bother at this point. You're right though, nothing tops the original way!
I love Shadows of the Empire. Just hearing the music in that game transports me back to my childhood. Good stuff man!

I feel like that game got ported around more times than Skyrim. I should check it out at some point since I heard many great things about it!

I don't plan to go for a full set but the N64 is fun to collect for. I discovered so many simpler games on it that I missed out on.
