Nice reaction! One thing most people don't spot is that in Simon Pegg's movies there are usually references to Old Skool hip hop. So the "Neighbourhood Watch Association" has a sign on the door saying "NWA". The final line, "Bring the Noise" is the title of a Public Enemy track.
Another joke that non-Brits might not get is the title, and you did wonder about that... "Fuzz" has two meanings in Britian. The police ("the fuzz"). So "Hot Fuzz" would mean like action-packed police. "Fuzz" also used to mean "pubic hair". You can work out for yourselves what THAT title might mean...
Anyway, if you liked this then "Shaun of the Dead" is an excellent next watch! Same two lead actors, but instead of a tribute to action movies, it's a tribute to zombie flicks!

It's the hidden little touches that make Edgar Wright movies so special.
The "Fascist / Hag" joke is funny the first time when he arrives at the hotel. The callback is funny during the shooting scene. But did you spot the hidden crossword puzzle reference? When she shouts "Fascist" she starts shooting ACROSS the street. Then Angel shoots the flower basket that falls DOWN to hit her on the head before he replies with "Hag". Fascist was 7 ACROSS, Hag was 12 DOWN.

Lots of movie references here either via the script or casting, from John Woo's Hong Kong action films to cult Brit horrors from the 1970s like The Wicker Man (a cult in a remote village) which starred Edward Woodward (as a serious cop) who played the neighbourhood watch guy watching the CCTV in the police station. Tim Dalton (Skinner) was James Bond in the 80s. Billie Whitelaw (Joyce the crossword puzzler) was the first evil nanny in The Omen. And Peter Jackson was the Santa stabber.

    Crusty Jugglers....
Swans are quite vicious and will attack relentlessly.
Part of this is satirical about English villages because many of them refuse to change and "Tidiest Town" or some other accolade is a real badge of honour.
14:22, I think you missed the gag when he said "Decaffeinated?", what the person calling meant was "decapitated".

I think you missed the reason for those murders. The reason was: They wanted to clean up the criminal statistics of that village. So the village can become "The Village of the Year" every year. That was behind the people with the note blocks at the end. Those were the people from outside of the village, who had to judge, which village is becoming the village of the year.
And behind all that is the police chief, who did that all for his dead wife.
That's why nobody was officially punished for anything and the "cult" punished the offenders secretly by themselves with their own punishment methods. All was done to keep the official statistics and the surface impression of the whole village in an excellent condition...and over time the "cult" was becoming ever more insane with their "cleaning up" of unwanted people with their unwanted habits (like an annoying laughter etc).
I'm only explaining that, because I think you missed the structure of the story behind the whole movie.

There is a reason they won't harm the swan. In the UK, all swans (also all whales and some other things) are property of the king. So they would have to answer to the palace officials about it if they did hit it. Also, I would assume that they would be motivated by patriotism to demonstrate respect for the king's property.

    Sensational film with great actors.
This crazy mix of US action and black Brit humor begins as a bland provincial farce in which serving alcohol to minors seems to be the biggest problem.
But then people start dying - and in a gory way that is usually only seen in splatter films. The production obviously has fun throwing us for a loop. 😁

It's illegal to kill swans in England and you can go to jail for 6 months. Also the swan has links to the Royal Family as they can claim ownership of any swan on open waters in the UK but they only exercise this right to the swans around Windsor.

38:18 ... Wild unmarked mute swans belong to the Crown. The Crown has held the right to claim ownership of all unmarked mute swans swimming in open waters throughout the country from as far back as the twelfth century. As such this means that taking a swan could amount to theft. Killing or injuring a swan could also amount to criminal damage or a wildlife related offence. Offences committed against swans have been successfully prosecuted in recent years.
