I remember stumbling upon this by accident 4 years ago and it had been the first time I've ever heard Ed Sheeran sing, and ever since then, I have been a huge fan!!!
Roilan Rosales Ditto. Just happened onto this video again- remember seeing it when it had only a few thousand views, and this unknown little red head kid was looping melodies...

I just LOVE watching him “build” the harmonies!! He is so so amazing!! I am always blown away by his lyrics but every thing he touches is magic. If you haven’t heard his cover of The Parting Glass you need to find it!!
+Huehuehue Everyone is auto-tuned (I'm a studio engineer), I'm sure this is too once it was actually mixed. The difference is that he really good and needs very little (and when it's done well, you can't tell that it's not natural). That being said, he is ridiculously talented.
ramenspawn I say that because he sounds the same whether he sings in studios or talk shows. Normally when a singer comes on a talk show and sing, they sound so much worst than they do in the studios.
I remember when my mum and dad went to see him in a tiny pop up show before he was famous. I was a massive fan of him back then but was just too young to go with them. I remember them coming back and telling me all about it, and how he asked everyone in the room to be completely silent so he could perform this song with the loop pedal. My mum even recorded my favourite song of his so I could watch a bit of the show. It’s still a very fond memory and I’m 16 now
I was asked yesterday, if you could listen to one artist forever, who would it be? I showed them this video. Though I do not listen to him terribly often, he is a musical genius, he is an artist that simply CANNOT get sick of. There is nothing he can't do, his music can get me so hyped in a mater of seconds and that, to me, is the meaning of music. Whether you like his published music or not, you have to respect him as an artist. You have to respect the fact that he is able to completely make a song, using only his voice, in one take, in 4 minutes. That my friends, is extraordinary. -Robert/17
My mother died today, at the age of 46, she sang this song at my uncle's funeral, and it will play at hers. This song is very important to my family and I and you sang it beautifully. Thank you

way back when.... I never really gave Ed Sheeran the chance... I feel horrible about that now because he is hands down my favourite music artist. I love his acoustic sessions, like this. He's way up on the list with and above, "the Greats" in music.

The way he recovers from when he makes mistakes in this is spectacular. You can see a bit of nervousness but he's a brave fellow. Well done here, Ed...
When this song was sung in the movie 1917 it nearly brought me to tears. i dont usually get emotional in movies but that moment was fantastic. That movie is fantastic I recommend to all
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams
This song is similar to 'Arirang', a traditional Korean folk song. A long time ago, I also felt that in the voice of Emmylou Harris. This song expresses those sad feelings in a different style very well. Feels like I've become one with this song. It was very touching. Thank you.
I didn't like him at all when I saw him open up for Taylor last April. I'd actually never heard of him before her tour announcement. I think the reason I didn't like him is because the acoustics in that arena were HORRIBLE (it was in Atlanta, Georgia) and with his accent I couldn't understand anything he said. And he drug his songs out too long. But since then I've fallen in love with Lego House, I See Fire, Give Me Love, and A team. And this..this is my new favorite thing.
He isn't perfect. But guess what? He rocks. He nails the emotion. That's what counts. Simpletons notice the technicalities. But it's his musicianship which speaks to the soul.
The "And I know dark clouds" part... Goosebumps.. Every single time, even after almost 6 years..

This guy has a lot of talent that gets sort of swallowed up in hype sometimes.
I sang this a few years ago for a school concert and I still remember the lyrics. Decided to look it up and found this. So beautiful
When he said "I know dark clouds" he had a very talented strong voice almost sounded like Michael Jackson ! :o
ikr!!!
Treu. rt xdd
Yeah! Exactly what I thought. So much alike at that part, never heard him sing like that before.
yeah
2:28 :)
"I know dark clouds" is the best part.
The way he recovers from when he makes mistakes in this is spectacular. You can see a bit of nervousness but he's a brave fellow. Well done here, Ed...
He has an amazing voice 😍 I love him with all my heart 💙 he deserves all the best. With love from Russia (30.07.19) 🙋🇷🇺♥
Love everything thing he sings...
Me too, Ellen Vickers, I love everything he sings, even the Nando's Skank.
When this song was sung in the movie 1917 it nearly brought me to tears. i dont usually get emotional in movies but that moment was fantastic. That movie is fantastic I recommend to all
I like this lighting on him. Looks toasty :)
This is nothing but the best rendition I’ve ever felt so Thank you mr. sheeren
Stunning talent. Continue to be amazed by this artist.

Before she passed away, my mom (in her late 60s) used to call me asking who this guy was and the name of the song so she could show it to her friends
This song is similar to 'Arirang', a traditional Korean folk song. A long time ago, I also felt that in the voice of Emmylou Harris.
This song expresses those sad feelings in a different style very well. Feels like I've become one with this song. It was very touching.
Thank you.
My first introduction to Ed was this video 13 years ago and I still come back to this video at least 5 times a year
Oh now I'm crying, damn it Ed!
When I went to a Taylor Swift concert and I heard him sing this song as an opening act for Taylor, I knew he IS going to be the next big thing.
lol bet you did
He's been the next big thing for 4 years now. Where have you been?
Mohamed Ihsan Most people never heard of him
Meanderthal17 most people = americans?
I remember my choir director playing this for us. It was my introduction to Ed Sheeran.
