Just to answer a few points for Lix about Roblox: • A lot of Roblox games have a tenancy to copy eachother or copy other games, e.g. the several pet sim games that currently exist. • The reason why the audio cuts off is mostly Roblox's fault, we don't upload audio to the game we upload it to Roblox where it gets moderated. The reason the sound gets cut off is probably because the dev didn't want to pay extra for longer audio or they pulled it for free from the library. It could also be beacuse the Sound part got deleted or moved too far away from the player. • Some devs are known for decompiling already existing games and pulling models and textures from it to re-use in copies or other unrelated games, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case for the wallpaper and the mop. • You picked up the key without pressing anything probably because there was a TouchedEvent script inside the key. • Every game in Roblox is an online game, using their servers as the host. The reason you can play in essentially singleplayer is because the developer set the "place" as having a player limit of 1 per server. • Places and experiences are two different things, tl:dr an experience is an entire game but a place can be a map or minigame inside of an experience but you have to change server to go to it. • It's actually kind of amusing you saying the Roblox Engine is good, for developers it's notoriously riddled with issues that Roblox have failed to fix or have fixed poorly. Up until Byfron (Roblox Anti Cheat) came along, these issues were exploited by players to gain unfair advantages or to break games or even to download games. This is why we call them exploiters instead of hackers. • What is it like to make a game in Roblox? The short answer is very easy, Roblox Studio is quite easy to learn and theres plenty of videos on how to use it best. The long answer is, not great. If you go to them to just make a game then thats perfect, if you want to do anything else such as have actual players or earn money you have basically no chance due to Roblox's taxing system, Steam takes 30% off of developers meanwhile Roblox takes about 80% maybe even more than this in the end if you want to cash it out to real money. Getting a game to have players takes dedication and a lot of money to get advertising. • Should you make a game in Roblox? Not my decison to make, but I do ask you research the developer side of Roblox more before trying. Hopefully lix sees this, and if anyone has issues with what I wrote I'd be happy to correct them if you point it out in the comments. - Ex Roblox Developer (Builder and Scripter), 3 years experience.

Last I had known roblox doesn't actually pay "devs" that aren't the top money makers and they're "paid" in robux. Like working for walmart and getting paid in store credit.
When I used to play roblox I would splice a lot of free models to create "new" models. I also wasn't good at scripting so I would take scripts and combine them with another to get it how I liked
I can imagine the 30 minutes Lixian spent completely calm setting up his Roblox account, making sure his recording equipment was ready, and checking if he had anything in his teeth before hitting start and acting like he’s angry.
@@LixianTVas a game developer, I tried using Roblox and I have to say the engine is pretty nice. You can create a multiplayer game and monetize it for free. Its coding language is very fast and it allows you to import models from stuff like blender. The scripting is a lot like Python and I was able to remake a really high quality FNAF 1 game! In terms of the games you can play, I've tried some and most notably I liked the games called Phantom forces, frontlines, and jailbreak. Those games were really well made I would love to see more Roblox videos! Your video was fun to watch! I hope to see more.

Makes sense, they have similar humor and that's why Lixian's editing goes along so well with Mark. Though I'm sure Lixian is definitely inspired by Mark; as they say: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I feel like Lixian watching and listening to Mark for so long has just caused Marks personality to rub off on him, like that whole angry-not angry bit at the beginning felt very much like Mark
I love how watching a Lixian video is a lot like watching a Markiplier video. The man has an editing style and he sticks to it. It's actually really kind of inspiring to me tbh because Lixian is basically who got me to even want to try being an editor. I still suck at it, but...I still like it at least lol.
I adore how most creators would be genuinely upset at someone copying their game, but Lixian is here just giving critiques and otherwise being very impressed
That 100% wasn't happening, especially when people could easily copy the entire game and get away with it because the original game was changed to another game because of the limit of 1 game per person with no bc
I love how you can feel the influence Mark has had on Lixians recording style, but not in a super obvious "he's just copying Mark" kind of way, but in a genuine way friends start to talk and act like each other after years of friendship and its just super sweet to see
EXACTLY!!! Roblox is really toxic because it actively encourages/endorses plagiarism of other games! It sucks so much. I'm a fan of Jacksepticeye as well as Lix and Mark, and the game Lixian tried at the end was basically a copy of one of Chilla's Art's Games that Jack actually played. It's a toxic environment full of pr3adat0r5 and people who steal other people's work for profit. Lots of the games on there are basically "Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, and change a few sentences" (y'know, that thing a lot of kids are known to do on research papers?)
I had to go back and rewatch that part when i saw it, it was hilarious 😂 it's so cool to see mannerisms and inflections picked up by interacting together for so long.
The worst of that, is that Roblox bootleg usually get more people to like the stolen than the original, something similar happened with another indie dev who's game was reproduced in Roblox and made 20 times more fame to the bootlegger than the original dev
You're talking about the game Mark platformed and tried to support. Kinda hurts to see Lixian hinder that idea inadvertantly, by instead platforming people stealing other's works. The story behind the game you're talking about, is that the original developer didn't have a following, so their game wasn't noticed. The Roblox people asked to clone it. He gave permission. Roblox is a huge platform, that makes it easy to get noticed. That version blew up. Original Dev has to take-down the roblox verison, because it was only hurting his ability to get his actual game any attention. This kinda shit needs to fucking stop.
I mean, frankly, if he doesn't care, then whatever, but don't platform it, and just excuse the fact that it's happening to everyone else around him as well. He literally just advertised four stolen games for these roblox shitheads. Mark excuses people of using *his* content for memes. Not blatant ripoffs of his works. Mark is simply lucky that the things he creates are large-scale works beyond movie-length in effort, so they can't just get stolen. And if someone does use it, it's usually an isolated case to just stealing HIS stuff, usually for a meme that's transformative. This is just a ripoff, and they're doing it to MULTIPLE developers trying to actually create things themselves. That's not something you should encourage. If we wanna make Mark comparisons, Mark went out of his way to support a developer that ALSO got a shitty end of the stick by roblock "developers", by playing his game while he was already busy as hell. Mark demonstrated practically the opposite effect of what is being done here. He was platforming the original developer of someone who'd had to remove a clone of their game off of roblox because it was hindering their own work, and that wasn't even a theft, that was allowed, untill it started negatively affecting their ability to get their game out to people themself. Lixian is accidentally going right against that whole principle, by instead platforming and encouraging the theft of people's games in roblox.
@@HiddenRealm Well, I guess Lixian also may have shed some light on this whole indie-game stealing scene on roblox. I'm pretty sure he doesn't think these roblox games gain a lot either, since as someone who doesn't know much about roblox would just expect it to be played solely by kids. Kinda like how far you'd expect a cheap mobile GTA clone to go. The problem also mainly lies in how roblox players play roblox versions either so that they can run the game better or so they don't have to download anything more than just Roblox, when in fact even the original game from Itch may run just as well or even better. I try encouraging my school friends to play standalone games and such wherever I can. It's like almost all of them play roblox, but nothing else other than mobile games maybe. There are so many great free games out there, they just need to reach out to platforms like Steam and get used to the atmosphere.
I commend you for your positivity and finding so much nice stuff to say. It really is a carbon copy, and the differences don’t make for a better game experience: there’s more trash to pick up (ie, more time wasting), the floor plan is the same but ADA compliant (the wider-spaced rooms are less realistic and spoil any sense of claustrophobia), and it’s brighter. As you said, if they’d simply changed up the house, it could’ve felt like a continuation of the Late Night Mop series, but this just feels like a rip-off. You put more work into your than they did (and certainly put more work into the scare elements), and we appreciate you for that!
Dude, they did something blatantly illegal frankly, and if it were a triple A's game, they'd be stomped into the dirt if they pulled something like this. They even go as far as directly ripping assets out of the original game to steal them by decompiling them. Sure, Lixian doesn't have to care about his own work. But he's platforming "developers" that are also stealing OTHER people's works along with his, and he's complimenting them, and praising them. That is not a good thing.
@@HiddenRealm I didn't say it was a good thing what they did, so lose the tone because you're coming off very hostile to a total stranger who's not responsible for any of this. Lixian is making content out of it. He's making the best out of a bad situation. I'll while I'm just SO sure you're a legal scholar, do you honestly think Lixian has the time, resources, or care to take these people to court? Yes, what they did is completely unethical, but at least Lixian is able to channel his frustration into something beneficial for him.
@@Unownshipper I wouldn't recommend responding to the HiddenRealm guy often cause he goes under almost every comment saying the exact same thing said above sorta white knighting Lixian about how "I CANT BELIEVE LIXIAN HAS TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!1!!!1111!" when he has a mostly "ok I guess," review for it and is just making a video on it cuz of yknow, free content. (Even though yeah, the game is indeed a worse copy of his game) And at the same time talking how Lixian SHOULD HAVE reacted, because apparently based on what they say, Lixian should've been more angry and wanted to see the developer gone. But at the same time criticizes him for giving these creators a "platform" and while knowing youtube, it'll actually probably cause some of his fans to harass the dev instead of giving them a bigger platform with new fans. It's also kinda sad how he replied to a shit ton of comments and all of them being different so they had to deliberately spend their free time doing this...
@@trist10 Thanks for the insight. It's pretty sad how some people elect themselves to be the mouthpiece of content creators while also at the same time telling them the "correct" way to feel about... whatever. Seems like an ego trip thing.
5:57 most games are around the quality of this one. It does all depend on the creator's talent, how long they take, and if they spend money on assets or people to help with different elements. The reason a lot of people get a bad impression of roblox devs is because anyone can make a game, including 5 year olds
Bro, they asset flipped the game, and stole Lixian's idea. We're comparing an asset flip that was done to create a fun concept by a developer just wanting to practice developing games, to just a stolen asset flip. There is nothing good about them. Lixian was impressed by what Roblox's engine could render. That is all. There are likely amazing developers in the roblox community. These stolen asset flip games are not them.
@@HiddenRealm not all devs are the same. There are plenty of good ideas on there, but yes, the dev of this game shouldn't have stolen the game/game concept
@@ReeseTheBass well that's the thing here, the roblox "dev" didn't do anything. It's entirely taking random game from itch and a bunch of asset from roblox uc and putting all the assets in the exact same layout and sequence. Much like someone like sniperwolf or react channels on twitch, they're nothing without content to clone from.
First off, loved seeing your reactions to even just little things, shows an interesting insight into the experience of a new player coming from a game dev background. A few things of note about Roblox games: Roblox games can be clunky due to engine limitations. Some really good games will find ways around this, but a decent amount of games (especially the cash grabs) will just leave you to deal with it. If a game has some naming scheme like "____ Simulator", "____ Legends", or "+1 ____ every second", it is almost always a cash grab that sucks. Same applies to any game where the thumbnail looks like a bad TH-cam clickbait video. Unfortunately, too many people are willing to just sit AFK and get scammed in the same games that have been made a million times before for them to die out any time soon. If a game is based on a popular franchise / series / existing game, such as most anime inspired Roblox games or anything similar to a recently released game, it is probably a grindy cash grab that sucks. This is where the copying issue comes in, those games get more popular than original games because there's an existing fanbase, so a lot of creators will piggyback off of the success of something else for easy money. Good Roblox games are few and far between (probably
It's really sad that a lot of the more original (non-copied) games on the roblox platform get pushed to the way side. Due to lack of funding to advertise, or the devs having next to no following to announce their games to. But people who copy popular games will get tons of attention. I wouldn't say to sue. That's just really ridiculous imo, cuz kids/ teens could do like a thousand other things far worse, that would make them deserving of being trialed like they're adults. And copyright is not one of them. It can be beyond infuriating when minors do infringe on copyright. But it's going a bit overboard to send hate mobs their way, or straight up sue them. Because: 1. That'll most likely traumatize them for life (assuming that they *genuinely* didn't mean any harm) 2. Their parents, who probably think that their children would know better, *will* get dragged into the lawsuit with their kid and most definitely lose their job and have difficulty finding employment. And will possibly even get into truck loads of debt. Meaning that even if they did try to teach their kid better before hand. They could most likely go through hell for the rest of their life (/lives) all because they got tangled up in something that their kid did, *without* their knowledge. 3. Hate mobs could very well end up with their info getting doxxed. And put them at serious risk of being physically harmed, or far worse. I'm no legal expert but, I'd say that if any actions are to be taken. Legally or through online interaction. Then at worst (legally), sending a cease and desist is way more logical than just straight up suing. And if anyone should be talking to the people who copied the game. Then it should be the OG creator(s) of the game. Not a massive mob.
Roblox wasn't always this good looking. I remember back in the day when I used to play "The Town of Robloxia" (one of the many classic experiences in the late 2000s/very early 2010s) everything was pretty much as you stated: Minecraft but not just cubes. Though, as the years have gone by, the engine has... side-graded (I can't fully say improved because while certain aspects have certainly been touched up on, there are still some kinks in need of being ironed out.) However, that doesn't stop developers from making incredible games and experiences! For example, I've found several Sonic the Hedgehog games on Roblox that look and play like some of the official titles, both in the newer, fully 3D ones *and* the classic 16-bit Sega Genesis/MegaDrive games! And that's just one corner of the games you'll find on the website. If you were to make a game on Roblox, I'd definitely love to see and even play it! You're definitely a talented game designer, and even though you'd have to learn to use an entirely new engine, I'm confident that you'd be able make something worthwhile! Of course, that is if you actually want to take the time to do it (nobody can blame you if you don't haha) Great video as always, Lixian! Keep up the phenomenal work!
Honestly I would love it if more horror games included that option to leave immediately. I think it would be hysterical. And you're right - it's realistic to be like, "NOPE" and bail after seeing something scary. Just imagine if in Outlast, Miles climbed right back out of the window after seeing some stuff. 🤣 Also holy crap I about snorted my drink out my nose when you were telling the demon to get out of the house and "pushing" him with your mop. 🤣
Basically anything that gets popular will get copies made by people on Roblox, it's just how it happens. P.S. Most games on Roblox don't look quite this good, as a large part of the userbase are little kids and young teenagers. That said there are some high quality games on Roblox.
Kind of wish someone would start sueing devs that whole sale steal. Don't even care if they're children, sue them right into the dirt. Teach them a lesson they'll never forget.
@@aliciafraser1835You literally can't. You can't sue children. You could sue Roblox for allowing the copies on their platform, but that's not a lawsuit any single person is going to be able to see through.
most games on roblox dont have particularly interesting mechanics though. i dont think i've seen any roblox games that arent super repetitive or tedious while looking decent
I like your voice. Or, more specifically, I like the WAY you speak, and the choices you make when emphasizing words. For example: 10:28 Your delivery of, "ENDING FOUR!??" reminds me of Steve Carell's 'Gru' from Despicable Me. Good stuff.
I wish Lixian posted more often. I loved his interactions indirectly with Mark, so I decided to check out his channel and fell in love. Sucks that he only posts once a decade lmao. Its been about 3 years thag ive been a fan
@mande.melooo yeah was thinking that too, he has to watch Mark's videos everyday to check his editing, so it's probably a given that he'd pick up on Mark's mannerisms
They've also known each other for...what like 10 years now? And Lixian has been working for Mark or at least with him for I feel like most of that time. I'm pretty sure it started with the animations. After a certain amount of time, we do pick up on mannerisms and words from the people around us. It's kinda interesting tbh
Funny how the second "story" he goes into to see if roblox just looks like that is actually an EXACT copy of another game markiplier played a few years ago. That game is very unoriginal.
I will admit, I think the graphics and design is well made. But, it feels more of a copy rather than a fan made game. It isn’t a continuation of the original game, it’s just a remake in Roblox.
I'm slightly surprised Lixian didn't recognise that gas station from that other game considering it's the exact same gas station from Teke Teke. I would've thought Lixian would recognise it from editing Mark's video on the game lol
@@LixianTV Did you realize that you just platformed and advertised blatant content theft of multiple developer's works? I'd reconsider your stance on being so casual and coming off as encouraging of it, even if that wasn't your intentions, because you just gave them some nice advertising and praise here.
Man, if you made a game on Roblox I would love to play it. You can even set it up to be a multiplayer story as well. I would recommend trying the mimic.
Always love to see people impressed with the roblox engine, yes, it's a platform meant mainly for children, however it can be very impressive and relatively easy to make games with, it should be given much more of a chance than it is currently, some of the game on there are equal to, if not better than games coming out on PC or console.
This makes me so freaking happy. Seeing Lixians editing and humor when its already so familiar and cozy and fun from watching mark for the last forever is just so wholesome
i had never seen a roblox game in my life and was just as surprised as you at how well it looks! it doesn't come close to the original but at least you had fun right
5:50 Back when I played Roblox (between 2008 and 2012), maps definitely had lower polycounts and such, simply because creators were younger, map creation tools were more simple and because peoples' computers weren't as powerful as they are now. Nowadays people are apparently able to make a living off of making maps and such, and game/ map creation is more streamlined. It's kind of crazy how it's grown.
i have been following lixians stuff for years but this is the first let’s play type video i remember and it is INSANE how much his humour is similar to marks while not feeling like he is trying to emulate mark. which i guess makes sense since lixian was originally just a fan of marks (an insanely talented fan) and now he gets to work with a man who’s comedy is only matched by his own. lixian if you switched to full let’s plays i guarantee we would watch that gold.
Yeah. It's often disregarded as a game for children, but Roblox has some really great horror games. Doors being the most well-known, but I think it also has some really good Backrooms games.
It’s funny, I can kinda see how you’ve adapted Mark’s “personality” through these videos. A lot of the jokes and the way your “flow” is, is very similar!
I just love that it feels like watching Mark bc this literally shows how important it is Lixian's comical editing to make those videos be even better. Everyone hail Lixian and his talent!
People don't realize how far the Roblox engine has come graphically. Optimization could be better. Also, I believe it uses the Lua coding language, if you ever decide to make a roblox game.
9:11 "Hello~ He-" PFFFT, even in imitation, Lixian manages to find entertainment in the nonsense. XD Also Beelzebub wandering through the hallways sounds like a bootleg Russian voiceover of MK4 played backwards...
I doubt they even stop to figure out who makes the game before they steal it all. No, correction, they know, because they look for popular ones. They just don't care.
@@HiddenRealm It's truly unfortunate.. 🙁 There's a common sense to everything, but it feels like people nowadays brush it off and like you said they just don't care.
@@RealRoboKnight Doesn't make it okay, as the other games that were copied aren't free. It's basically letting people play a very similar game without paying the people who came up with the idea originally. It's not okay to benefit off someone else's idea without permission.
You can see the difference in experience, your game was more balanced with a better atmosphere and event where smartly scripted to happen in front of the player (like putting a staine where a jumpscare would go to have the player look the right way) It is ok but i've seen better horror games in roblox
Hiya Lixian! Months late but I might as well put my thought on the matter of creating games on Roblox; it's not that complicated for building something, but it's definitely something else for coding. Roblox runs on Lua, and there are a lot of tutorials and games on Roblox that try and help you learn how to code in Lua scripts so yeah! Do give it a try, it's fun :)
If you're that impressed of how those games look, then play Frontlines, you won't believe it's Roblox at all, remember that max graphics aren't on as default.
If somebody straight up ripped off Lixian to the point he was legit stealing from him, rest assured, Markiplier would be there in about 5 seconds, politely asking them to stop... ...with his boot on their windpipe.
Lixian you should definitely try some roblox horror games, there are some REALLY good ones out there. Maybe you can do a playthrough of horror games with Markiplier lol, considering many of these allow multiplayer.
I'm only about 7 minutes into the video, and so far I'm getting the vibe that Lixian is going from "I am mildly annoyed" to "It's a copy, but it's a well made copy. So bravo for that"
Trust me Lixian, like any other engine, it depends on your skills and creativity... So I if you ever make a game in Roblox, I am more than willing to play it lol Just make sure to document your experience like you always do, it's always entertaining! This video was really fun to watch!

Every single "story" in the game is an exact copy of something from itch. It didn't just clone lixian's game, it cloned a lot of games.

The worst of that, is that Roblox bootleg usually get more people to like the stolen than the original, something similar happened with another indie dev who's game was reproduced in Roblox and made 20 times more fame to the bootlegger than the original dev
That's why someone needs to take legal action. Start teaching lessons. Not entirely sure why no one has yet.
This kinda shit needs to fucking stop.
what game?@@HiddenRealm
I love how Lixian has the same *'THEY INFRINGED ON **_MY_** RIGHTS* _but i don't really care it's whatevs'_ attitude as Mark.
Just like the video on blush blush where mark spent way too much god damn money and time
I mean, frankly, if he doesn't care, then whatever, but don't platform it, and just excuse the fact that it's happening to everyone else around him as well.

@@bluewolf1409 I didn't know that.

Gotta love when roblox copies arise. Its a great way to tell how popular your game is.
I've seen that game copy other horror games, but no idea if they have given any credit
We're comparing an asset flip that was done to create a fun concept by a developer just wanting to practice developing games,
to just a stolen asset flip.
There is nothing good about them.
Lixian was impressed by what Roblox's engine could render.
That is all.
There are likely amazing developers in the roblox community.
These stolen asset flip games are not them.
By creator you mean the dev of the actual game the roblox game copied from right?
@@HiddenRealm not all devs are the same. There are plenty of good ideas on there, but yes, the dev of this game shouldn't have stolen the game/game concept
@@thehemohscinproject by creator I meant the roblox dev. I see how that could be confusing tho
A few things of note about Roblox games:
Roblox games can be clunky due to engine limitations.
Yeah, I saw that, thought it was weird, but the juxtapositions of you acting angry, then saying “I don’t care” was a good joke.

if you want to try a roblox game that would blow your mind, try playing Frontlines. It's really realistic @@LixianTV
Because:
1. That'll most likely traumatize them for life (assuming that they *genuinely* didn't mean any harm)
Not a massive mob.
i would love to see lixian learn how to make roblox games. i've never seen the development side of them and lixian always makes fun stuff!
Of course, that is if you actually want to take the time to do it (nobody can blame you if you don't haha)
Great video as always, Lixian!
Also holy crap I about snorted my drink out my nose when you were telling the demon to get out of the house and "pushing" him with your mop. 🤣
Right?? I'm reminded of N's reaction to creepy b.s. in the Murder Drones series, and him just "Nope" and peacing out XD
If I remember correctly, you can actually go "NOPE!" in Outlast after looking at a specific window and seeing a silhouette running past xD
I can see why Markiplier has hired Lixian as an editor. He seems to have the exact same sense of humor.
Basically anything that gets popular will get copies made by people on Roblox, it's just how it happens.
P.S. Most games on Roblox don't look quite this good, as a large part of the userbase are little kids and young teenagers. That said there are some high quality games on Roblox.
