The art is mesmerising as always too, as well as the song.

Yeah, they are the same person, but actually, VY2 is a genderless and avatarless character. He's only described as a masculine singer, while VY1 is a feminine. The VY2 on Google was just a contest winner for a look for him. You can portray VY2 as you'd like, so the creator of this song, Hitoshizuku, saw him differently. It was also the artists, Yama's, perspective, too.

He's not holding someone's hand. It's just his own hand holding a red ribbon, it's just that half his hand is on the other side of the ribbon so it gives the illusion of there being two separate hands there.
