A border wall is in my opinion not a good strategy for immigration control but we need a new one first should be punishing so called sanctuary city's who deliberately are harboring illegals because shocker for you the second you enter America illegally you are breaking the law its in the term illegally entering the country

I think for alot of people its easy to have that mindset. That why cant they make their country great again. But what people often forget is that its a privilege to live in a country thats not run by cartels, its a privilege to live in a america. If they could they would, but they can't. Because the moment they step out of line, the moment they do something that will anger someone in a higher position of power, they'll be killed. And thats the truth for a lot of people living in countries such as these. They don't seek to commit crimes. What they seek is the opportunity. The opportunity to live better lifes, the opportunity to work, and the opportunity to perhaps one day be in a place that will allow them the ability to make there country a great nation.

    • @Infinitexz

The rise in medical costs isn't 100% attributable to immigration. In fact, it is hardly ever mentioned because there are other factors that outsize that impact by an order of magnitude. One of the biggest reasons lies within cost-sharing.
Secondly, jobs can't be "taken" away. That's not how the labor market works. There's never a set amount of jobs. Additionally, labor studies show that the individuals impacted the most by the influx of immigrants are other immigrants who arrived earlier. That's who they're really competing against.
Lastly, illegal immigrants often don't get government assistance because of their lack of legal documentation. You just can't. What? Do you think state offices simply give out food assistance to everyone without looking at taxes, legal status, etc?
You know what's a burden? Idiots who can't educate themselves and continue to spew misinformation on the internet.

You said it yourself immigrants work the jobs nobody wants to work, because they don’t come to take advantage or others but to work hard to provide for their families abroad. They didn’t just abandon their country, their loved ones, and everything they knew because they just wanted to do so but because they had no other choice.

There's an excess amount of jobs on all levels of paygrades. How many tech jobs and medical jobs open up and need to be filled every year? Too many. As someone in California who's grown up here, these immigrants support and are the backbone of our economy. Most of my friends who came from south of the border have parents who worked hard in minimum wage laborious jobs allowing for their children to go get higher educations and graduate into careers that pay 6 figures. I hate that arguement "they're stealing our jobs" ... well maybe your not doing your job well enough. Maybe you as someone who's been here for generations needs to stop relying on minimum wage jobs.

Also, I assume some do go hungry a lot, but they haven't reached starvation levels yet. You're seeing the healthy ones on this video. Probably thousands have died on their way, or don't have the energy to even start the journey. As for clean clothes, they might wash them in the river, beat them on a rock, etc..

I think there comes a point where its not so much about money. I feel like for a lot of people crossing the border illegally its about time. They live in nations where the majority is living in poverty. And when there's poverty there's crime. For them its not a matter of money, its a matter if their child will be the next one dead. If there child will turn to crime. If there child saw something they shouldn't have. And yes they would like to enter legally but there's only so much time before something happens to there family. So they choose the seemingly faster way. You can't blame someone for wanting to get away from that environment and situation.
