Nice, honest review! I'm looking forward to getting Falcon, despite some shortcomings. I plan on trying to "improve" him, or plus him up a bit. He's definitely nowhere near as bad as he appeared to be in some of those early photos that popped up a week or so ago. BTW, it's pronounced FAL-CONE-NAY (it's Italian) ;)
I already customized mine: gave him the holster from the second release of Snake Eyes and Timber and put an extra Tiger Force Outback flashlight in the silencer slot. Then, I glued pouches (fodder from something else I customized) on his lower legs. Still might try giving him a removable knife and sheath on his web gear. It all started with the lack of a sidearm like the original toy had... then I noticed other things weren't like the original and it all just sorta snowballed from there lol.
Vintage Falcon was one of my most favourite figures. Hasbro had to really screw up to make me want to skip this release, but I did. It's probably the first time I skipped a figure - not because it was a character I just didn't care about - but because it was just not good enough. It's disappointing, but I'm not trying to be a completist. I'll just skip him and get the other releases. Mostly I've been very happy with Hasbro's output. Zarana is great, and Dusty is awesome except for his hat which looks weird and doesn't fit on his head properly.
I wish I had your restraint. Sadly I like this franchise so much. I bought a bunch of heads to fix the problem myself. I mean I should not have to and I don’t recommend doing it to others. Unless you don’t mind spending money.

The trick with Dusty is to take the smaller set of goggles and put them on him backwards, then the helmet will lock down nicely. The helmet is designed to fit over the goggle strap for when he’s wearing them. The added benefit to doing the reversed goggles trick is it stores all of his accessories on him.
I can’t think of another 4” version… I know I was never happy with any of the 4” versions of Falcon. I’m gonna get this one, as the head sculpt is my only issue. I can find/make a better head. I love the green beret outfit so it’s a must for me.

Making the paint app essential to pulling it off. it does not tolerate a single misprint. If the heads on the two I ordered are as bad as this, I do have a spare AF Blowback head I can put into service. I'm hoping at least one has that Tom Berenger/Willem Dafoe look they seem to have been going for without multiple sets of eyes or Joker lipstick.

Do you know if the steel brigade helmet that comes with Grunt fits on Falcons neck peg? If so, I'll buy Falcon to put a spare helmet on and call it a day lol
Hey Bobby, I wanted to ask this questions I specifically of you because you're an Army vet. Among all of the things wrong with Falcon isn't one of the problems with Falcon's portrait is he has the countenance of a guy in his 40's? Considering that Falcon is a 1st Lt. that would put him in his mid 20's. Being that Dusty appears to be 25, 26, 27 years old do you think that Lt. Falcon and Dusty should be in the same age range? When we get another Falcon in _Classified_ do you think they should use the same face sculpt, (just remove the frown lines,) to give him a more useful appearance or should they license Don Johnson's likeness and get some pictures of Don Johnson from when he was in his 20's?
So usually Lts are in their mid 20s, but there is a thing (and it's very common now) called Green to Gold Program (at least for the Army) where enlisted personnel go to school and get their commission, becoming officers. So it is possible to have an older LT out there with you
I buy these so my boys can enjoy new gi joe products and I need them to be playable as well as displayable. The shotgun is a major disappointment with that flimsy folding stock that literally comes apart with minor manipulation. Wish he came with a straightstocked Remington 870 or something more in line with his Vietnam green beret inspiration. The backpack does not stay put either. Wish there was more contrast with his cammies , which is clearly supposed to be tiger stripe ... Pretty frustrating but we have to have a Lt Falcon.
Yeah the paint apps are harsh on him. I also think the face sculpt was a mess. I agree they should not have made the mouth/lips so long, then accentuate it with that super strong color. Huge mistake. He has way too many deep lines in his face especially where the nostrils and mouth come together. The jaw could have been slightly shaved in. His eyebrows are not shaped like the one you showed in the back. I am going to get him and hope for the best. I have seen a few newer reviews where the paint apps are not as bad. If it is bad I have back up head sculpts from the Marvel legends line.

Because his classic look is that of a basic trooper..... his introduction has him being trained, no offense to you but this is why they should have stuck with the Operation blackout designs and slowly integrated the classic looks between the Classified and Retro lines.

I would never buy this figure. I love the character but what a terrible head sculpt and the colors are not right. They should take another look at G.I.Joe the Movie.
It is horrible, I shipped it back to hasbro. Your version seems a bit off what everybody else received. Your lips ain't painted red so I guess this either a fake video or custom Version.
The paint is at an "up" angle for mine. I show how I got two sets of eyes and how my paint ended up inside the mouth but at an up angle so it doesn't look as bad.

This is what everyone was concerned about with the windowless packaging. They can hide a subpar figures in windowless packaging.

It's Falcon, it's not like he's Serpentor. Very generic face, all I need is a head for that beret to fit on and bam, problem solved.

It's not as* bad in person. Fortunately my paint was messed up and slightly too high so it kind of worked out

I think if they fix the deep lines and shave the jaw down some. Make the mouth/lips shorter, even the cheek bones could be more subdued.
