Once again I'm commenting at the start of the video but I do promise not to edit in an entire TED talk to this later on ! Jolly, I owe you a HUGE thank you ! Despite having been playing this game since release and even, once upon a time, being one of the closed beta testers/sticklers for realism when new features were being worked on, I had NEVER considered a free alternative for head tracking. I got home late this evening after a week on the road and immediately fired up the PC to give this a try, and though I don't have a webcam (I can't afford the Vaseline I'd need over the lens to make myself look good), I found a method that lets me use my phone camera instead. Oh my goodness, what an experience ! I do need to refine various settings and adjust camera positions etc. but from the two hours of initial testing I had tonight, I can't believe how much better the game is to play ! Sure, there are teething issues, for example, taking a sip of coffee freaked out the tracker and using my phone rather than a webcam means there is a lot of lag but I know that once I get those ironed out, this is a literal game changer. I couldn't ever justify spending the money on a head tracker for how infrequent I would use it, but never considered that an alternative might exist. Thank you so much for shining a light on it because you have improved my experience 5-fold, before I've even got the settings all sorted ! Since I'm now sat at my desktop I have joined the discord too so if I can think of anything that can help then I'll post in your ETS2 channel :)
Hello Jacob, ahhh glad to hear you're enjoying the head tracking. Hahaha, vaseline over the lens, I like it. Someone used a £4.99 webcam off ebay and it worked fine by the way, so don't presume you need to get a 4k top of the range webcam.

Hello Lexus, haha. I'm quite surprised the modding community haven't made a working tacho system for this game yet.
