That’s because the silicone weight decreases the space between the key press sounds and a surface, while without it the space is lengthened, producing a deeper, lower sound. Much like the concept of organ pipes.
Any keyboard with a price range between 130-170 USD right now reminds me of the QK65 and Zoom65. I believe this Attack on Titan keyboard needs to be priced below 100 USD to compete with those two.
it's not going to be that cheap with just the ttc heart switching already being expensive on their own and it was a limited time drop that's already over. it's not worth it resale price (on ebay it's going from$160-250+) unless you really like attack on titan/100 thieves. And at that price you could get a qk65/zoom65 if you were interested in something more enthusiast oriented
The thing to note here is that this is not marketed towards enthusiasts. It's. Marketed for the general public while improving shortcomings that were highlighted by keyboard enthusiasts. People that will buy this board won't know about the QK65 or Zoom65. They won't care either.
The difference between those two is that the QK65 isn’t coming with key caps, stabs, and switches. You’ll be spending a lot more. You’ve also got to take into consideration that the keyboard hobby is a very niche hobby and building keyboards is even more of a niche.
I'll let people enjoy what they want but what I can't accept is some gaming content creators, branded this "budget keyboard", when it's not. I understand the hustle, whatever pays the rent, but please consider this advice, those people who watches their fav streamers endorsing "hype" keyboards like these and wants to get their first keyboard, before you lock in your money, do research first. Now I ain't stopping you to buy this but all I am asking is that you consider the money you're letting out vs the product you'll get. If you're just in for the official merch and novelty, by all means, but if you are just starting in the keyboard scene and wants to hop in, before you flip out your moolahs, DO A RESEARCH FIRST, you won't regret doing this.

I am actually interested in trying to find one of these second hand, as I have outgrown my "clicky" keyboard phase and want a more thoccy experience, and for 165 that isnt a bad option

They should have gone with foam instead of silicon. Foam takes aways the higher pitched nioses without muting it. But overall great improvements. And if you just buy the keycaps I think it's actually a good deal if you are a fan of the show or the brand.
i know this a year later but i got my a few months ago on tiktok for 85 bucks. worth every penny imo. Much better than the "big brands" like razer, corsair, etc
be great if you removed the silicon, redid the stablizers and added some gmk caps that would really change the sound… although i guess that rids the purpose of the custom caps lol. sounds pretty ok tho for what it is
It looks ok. I personally think that they could have oicked better titans than the ones that thye did. I would have liked to seen the attack titan or the jaw titan, but overall the keyboard looks really nice.

I want to know as I can’t afford anything else as i don’t get that much money, so I want to know this, and to know if it will break my switches, or if it will short out the switch?
Just had an idea! Plasti dip or liquid electrical tape in place of grease on the stabilizers! What do you think? Love your channel, and because of you I’m gunna build a keyboard now lol.

There's a difference between good enough silicone, and too much silicone. Too much silicone and too dense silicone reverberates noise instead of absorbing it
