That's just Snyder cultist that love to blame everything on James Gunn. He had nothing to do with this production and he probably would have elevated it if he did.
Dawnstar and Brainiac 5 were the only Legionieers that appeared in the original comic. I'm assuming that Legion of Superheroes was only a movie to introduce us to this version of Supergirl
Well, they were the only ones featured heavily (besides Supergirl, obviously!). But most of the rest appeared briefly in many scenes, usually in the background or crowd scenes.
Just finished watching it and its easily the best movie in the Tomorrow-verse, probably one of the best animated movies they ever produced. I don't know how they can keep up this momentum in part 2 and 3 but I'm here for it.
There’s a part 3?! wtf. Now im with you on how they will conclude this before James Gunn universe cuz I’m liking it just like the original trilogies in the dcau
Dawnstar was the one of the original characters that was summoned by the Monitor in the original comic book source storyline. She is also a universal level tracker, so she can track down the Anti-Monitor wherever he is.
I wasn’t that surprised I just wondered why he was a hobo he’s usually a drifter but if he was a time traveling old man then it’s pretty crazy in that regard. Just wish they did it better the movies had interesting ideas but the delivery was a bit weak I knew it was Constanine the whole time so the reveal was kinda like “Ohh, was I not supposed to that?”
I feel like people either think it's great or bad. I'd give it a 6/10. A lot of these were really good points. I liked the story with Amazo and Barry and Iris. I also liked the scene where Johnny Quick sacrificed himself. However I don't feel like we had enough of this animated universe to deserve crisis already happening. Because of this I feel like we should have seen a different solution to the Constantine plot hole. The very ending felt like it was taken right from infinity war. It also feels like they rushed the dusting scene as we have no idea which heroes even remain. It is also weird that we don't even know specifically what caused it and that we never saw the anti-monitor. I hope the second part can redeem some of these issues. Also if this animated universe is ending I hope we continue to see Jensen Ackles as Batman. I still think it was a decent movie and i'm rooting for the sequel to surpass expectations.
Why cant a live action be done like this ? We all know the characters, this gets right into it and tells the story slowly without even knowing it. Really great story.
I think the main issue with live action adaptations that most of them want to start from zero and own their own franchises. Like all try to be the "definitive" or different version from the usual lore we know that it just gets repetitive. As with animated ones, they just throw already established characters we know into a new adventure and story that sort of experiments with the characters and pre established lore to make it more entertaining
This works as an animation. Try and use this script for a live action movie and it doesn't remotely work. Different mediums induce different levels of suspension of disbelief.
As someone who had zero hope coming into this movie, after the boring and meaningless slog of War World, I was pleasantly surprised with the 1st part of Crisis. Sure, it may not be DC at their best but it’s still a good watch. I see a lot of hate for it, which I think is completely undeserved. Most of the hate seems to stem from the movie either not being the version of Crisis that they wanted or to just hate on the Tomorrowverse/DC. I think people miss the point of the movie; it’s not meant to be a straight adaptation or a cool epic spectacle of multiversal proportion. It’s a somber story about the Flash and his struggle to take in the simple things in life. People also forget that this is a Part 1, obviously it’s not going to explain and reveal every single little thing just yet. They could have gone the easy way and just packed the film full of fan service, cool fight and multiverse nonsense, but they didn’t and that’s something I can respect.
The only part that disappointed me is Hal Jordan's one. For the rest of that, i'm extremely happy what they do to my favorite character of DC (Barry) and so happy too to see Constantine again in the animated universe. I think in the second movie we will get a Supergirl centered movie, since Kara's death was a huge sacrifice in the original Crisis comics.
The second I heard the voice, I thought it was John Constantine and I’m so glad that it was. I’m think that since this is Crisis on Infinite Earths and Constantine from an already established series, they could have other animated DC properties in part 2 and 3. The original Teen Titans, Young Justice, etc could show up
John Constantine's suprise appearance is honestly quite welcome. He even has the same VA. The voice gave it away for me, still great, though. Even if he is even more broken now, then he was in the DCAMU. (Broken as in a broken man, not op)
Man, I HATE this animation style that they've been using lately! They had a great style in films like Flashpoint Paradox, io it's odd that they decided to go so far down in quality. 😕
Who the hell is responsible for the DC movies?! Fire them all and have the animation dep handle it w/o corporate meddling! That's how you save the DC universe.
@@DCnez Hi!! I'm subscribed to your channel! I love your videos, I really appreciate how you talk about the histories of various DC Earths, I think you would like this trilogy won't you? I hope they dive into more Earths in the incoming parts! I'm really hoping for a Kingdom Come Earth cameo
Love John Constantine's role! Always one of the top characters in the animated films universe! Could this connect to Matt Ryan coming back as Constantine in the film universe? They cancelled the Keanu sequel! ;)
It's strange cause it's really more of a Solo Flash movie that HAPPENS to have a bunch of other characters to lead into Crisis... but it's a really GOOD Flash Story and one of the best adaptations of Barry Allen taking elements of all sorts of pieces of the characters history.
I hope they get a bigger budget. Especially for Part Three. The beginning was solid but to really make it FEEL like a Crisis story we gotta see all those characters do more than just stand around. But I understand it’s a budget thing and plus you want to have a more grounded focused story to get it started anyways. So I liked Part One, but concerned about how Parts Two and Three will be.
The biggest praise I can give Crisis 1 is all of the geekgasms I got seeing all of these underrated DC Characters: Wildcat, Earth-2 Huntress, Amazo, Red Tornado, and so much more. The storyline is great. My favorite scenes are the formation of the Justice League and their battle with Amazo. It was really well shot, well written, and would've made a great first Justice League movie in the universe (if an unorthodox one at that). This was a great start to the trilogy, and I can't wait to see 2 and 3. After all, this is my most anticipated release of 2024, and this did not disappoint.
The ONLY downside to the movie, imo, is how it made Batman be portrayed like so differently. - doesn't want to adopt Dick - "I planned it, it's what I do" - "What makes you think I'm not mad" - and saying how he doesn't need a Lecture from a Friend - Calling in an airstrike It's Batman... But like if someone who never consumed Batman outside of Memes and BvS wrote Batman.
However, there was a TERRIBLE MISTAKE that didn't allowed me to properly enjoy the film, it wasn't in the plot, rather on the editing, & it was de Dialogue Pauses *For some reason in this movie characters let a 10 seconds span between each word, & they do it ALL THE TIME, that killed my immersion & didn't allowed me to get properly invested* & I really don't understand why they made such a Bizarre thing in the Editing
Holy shit, yesss. There was a scene, I think when flash gave everyone coffee. There was just this constant pause between each line, took me out of the scene multiple times

@@Vindog962 War was NOT 10/10 maybe if your criteria is blood and gore then sure. But storytelling wise there's so many plot holes AND no pay off especially by the end of it
To be fair in regards to Constantine’s punishment, he was originally just exposed to be under house arrest living for eternity with perfect copies of the people he loved for all eternity, it was Constantine self loathing and inability to believe that he could ever have happiness for himself that caused everything in the house to begin transforming into Demons to kill home over and over again. If Constantine was capable of self love he would have stayed in the house happily ever after……except he’s John Constantine….that’s like the one thing he can’t do, causing him to escape the House putting him directly in the path of the Universe to exact its price
Movie was so good, there's this YT short going around saying it was bad and "plagiarized" someone's design. That guy is dumb, DC owns all these characters. Solid 8.5/10, maybe even 9/10 when i watch it back through again.
the only issues I had with the movie to be honest was some of the line deliveries and the fact, as mentioned in the video, that the movie could've played out better in how it revealed its events and twists but other than that it's decent enough for a beginning of a trilogy, hope part 2 and 3 will take notes and improve on what's been set up.
I got a feeling the homeless man talking to Barry and saving him is constantine. Flash paradox darkseid movie. He needed to pay and the homeless man said they both share the same Blame. Ik it's a different animation but it's not like we haven't seen that before. The apocalypse world could be an alternate universe and that affected the entire multiverse
Dawnstar was chosen by the Monitor in Crisis DC as part of a Multiverse team to protect the Earths and his huge tuning forks. She's the only Legionnaire representative at first. They did a bunch more with her in the 1980s DC comics than any time since.
Crisis on Infinite Earths gave us one of the best ships and relationships in all of DC. GreenHawk! I was excited to see both John and Shayera found each other on that dance floor and connected 👏🏾. I’m hoping they become part of the JL after Part 2 and then to introduce Wonder Woman from our earth into the story. I’m also hoping for WonderBat to come back ngl but I’m fine with the tomorrowverse Bats and Catwoman. I still want Damian Wayne to come in but overall this movie was worth the $20. I loved every second of the movie, the tomorrowverse gets a 10/10 for this movie
Its terrible if you really liked the original comic version. This one seriously could've been a Flash animated film. Thing about the original is, you knew something big was going on and it involved a massive cast of characters.
Just finished watching the Crisis of Infinite Earths Part 1 Animated Movie and Wow, it’s Miles Better Than the CW Monstrosity, it might Explains why the Tomorrowverse were Cutting Parts of the Timeline, it’s Not Perfect but I can see the Method of the Madness, plus this has what the CW Never Did, there’s Risks, Stakes, a Clock Tiking in the End, keeps some Part Anonymous, and has More Characters that aren’t hold back by Strict Rules, Plus Pardon my English Language but it doesn’t make the Kameos look Forced, they are There for a Purpose and Reason, 9 out of 10.
I agree it's better but 2 weeks ago I decided to give the CW version a second chance and watch it in it's entirety (I did not like it when it first came out and it made me quit the arrowverse completely and I never looked back) and it was that bad. It was still pretty mid don't get me wrong and no where near the best crossovers but it was still not as bad as I originally thought it to be. I think it would have greatly benefited from not including the whole Paragons thing as in my opinion and even in the comics that shit was too cheesy. I mean in this movie they used science to stop the anti matter wave and I can't even remember why the 90's flash had to die in the Arrowverse version even though like I said I watched it 2 weeks ago. Your English is perfect my friend. And all your points are true especially on the cameos feeling pointless af in the Arrowverse version. Also in the Arrowverse version I never for a second believed anyone but the Arrow himself would die and his death being spoiled was literally the whole plot of Arrow season 8, so I completely agree there was no tension.
@@anonymousgaslighter345I’m happy that Someone Fully Agrees with my Points, to me I watched this Crossover so many times I grew to Despise it more and More but I respect your opinion
Great review man and honestly as for me I thought this movie was mediocre at best however I am intrigue on what part 2 and 3 are going to be about considering part 1 was about the flash from the very beginning and I am curious with the ending of this movie with the flash technically being dead maybe its not explained, but with him dead does this mean we only have Constantine and Supergirl left to help out with the coming crisis in the future at least in my opinion.
i watched a lot of recaps of this movie, the story looks great but holy crap i can't digest the art of the tomorrowverse, i just wait until the next reset and a more appealing artstyle
Super woman's plan to throw cars at the anti matter wave was somehow waaay dummer than ultra mans plan to punch it. I just laughed when I saw it. While rolling my eyes hearing ultra mans plan. Owl man at least went in a big bang. And green lantern at least tried something useful.
Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2 & Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3, will most likely come out next month in February, or maybe they will spread them out to April & July, that is just my thought.
Long, get a while to understand but was beautifully wrapped up towards the end. Additionally, I was left with more questions to continue the story in part 2. Can't wait!🔥
Right?! When I first saw Luthor, I thought he was Metallo. I was so damn confused why Metallo was going up against the whole group, until I realized that's Luthor lmao.
I still haven't seen this movie yet. However, I do want to check this movie out, especially with the Flash being the main character, which I like since the character barely gets focused as a main character on his own story without being relegated to a side character or plot device for the Justice League or Batman. However, I don't know if I should check out this movie because an artist had his design for Black Lightning in this movie stolen by DC Animation, and they never contacted him about using it and just decided to use it in this movie without compensation. or approval from him
The evil superman cracked me up. "I had hoped that hobo magician was just full of sh!t." 😂 The delivery of it was perfect. The fight scene with the robot Amazo was so clean and smooth I kept rewinding it. 😅 I was confused about Kara as well, though I feel she'll be the main focus in the second movie, like how Barry was in this one. (This is random, but part of me really wanted to see the Syndicate travel to other worlds to conquer them. That would have been cool.)
I wasn't terribly fond of the movie. As a kid from the 80's who loved the Crisis on Infinite Earths series....this movie didn't follow the original story very well at all. I had my hopes up that it would hold true to the series
They spent too much time with Flash and "Iris". This was supposed too be the Crisis of Infinite Earths the actual comic book story. I wish "tomorrow" universe would stop ruining good comic book stories.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope Kara (the 2nd biggest death in the comic book version of the Crisis on Infinite Earth) also gets as heartwarming a send-off as Barry did. I assume they will reveal that the reason the anti matter wave [SPOILER-did what it did in the movie] was because the Anti-Monitor is controlling it I already commented in your last review that I completely disagreed with your review of Justice League Warworld and not to be condescending I figured out what was going on with Barry the second time he went back to a time already shown so I think you are exaggerating how complex this or Christopher Nolan movies in general are (except Tenet, that had me confused for a while tbh) I agree that it would have been nicer to see more characters interact but it did not take away from the movie imo. In fact the only time I noticed it was when Kara who has not seen Clark in who knows how long did not interact with him but I forgot it immediately because I was totally immersed. I used to think Flashtime was an ability the CW made up but seeing Barry use it on [SPOILER] was really cool and heartwarming. My only gripe with this movie is I feel it should have left us on a bigger cliffhanger, I mean if the film wasn't literally called part 1 and I was under the impression they weren't adapting the comics 100% (kinda like the Arrowverse) I would have assumed that was the end of the story. As for the sound thing you keep complaining about, maybe I don't pay attention to such things to the extent you do but I have genuinely no idea what you are talking about. Oh I also 100% agree about Hal Jordan, I assume the screenwriters prefer John Stewart to an insane degree. I mean Hal may be my fav green lantern but I wouldn't make John evil or just a jerk who refuses to join the Justice League just to make Hal look good. I mean why was Ollie so butt heart when he though Hal was dead in Beware my Power if the two of them were not both on the Justice League. Doesn't make sense to me.
It sort of ends the first half of the comic this way as well. They don't really find out about the Anti Monitor until about halfway through the storyline.
I'm still a bit confused. Barry said that he's been living some moments of his life again and again since returning from earth 3, but didn't john send him there? So how does that work?
One thing people should know is flash is basically a god in his own right. It's just that he holds back quite a lot. Dude saved the multiverse single handedly while giving himself the powers in his own origin. Dude found a infinite glitch
I'm a huge DC animated fan but the ARROW verse style of drawing isn't for me but this Movie was great and hopefully the future films will be great aswell I want to see DC explore other heroes I'm getting sick and tired of the BIG 3 infact it was refreshing to see little of the Big 3 in this movie
Dc always makes great animated series and animated movies and Constantine is Pariah for the Crisis because at the end of Apocalypse War he gave Barry the idea to cause another Flashpoint and thus he bears most of the responsibility of the Antimonitor’s attack on the multiverse, while Barry has served his sentence by building the last tower in the film.
I just have 2 issues with this movie 1. The animation style and the characters animation was odd I loved the dcamu animation style better and the characters style was perfect but this tomorrow verse animation is a bit odd. 2. Writers did superman dirty again. They always nerf him down. It totally seemed like a flash movie. Even in the poster superman is missing. They put batman ww and flash but not the big blue. It seems he is not needed for dc anymore. Even they established that he is not immortal. But in comics we all know that he outlives even so called fiction gods
As of now, we're going to be seeing teaser trailer of crisis of infinite earths part 2 and it looks like we're going to be focusing a Supergirl which she's going to be in main character on, but at the same time I'm getting a strong feeling what is going to happen to her since what happened in the comic book
Barry is always the final saviour for all.... It has always been him and I love it.... Too bad he gets his ass kicked by super villains too easily at times.
I loved it and I was soyfacing throughout all the Watchtower scenes. Part 2 should have some iconic comic book moments that I don't want to spoil here, but Part 1 was a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the original Crisis storyline with just a few changes to fit the Tomorrowverse and surprise DC diehards.
The Tomorrowverse has issues when it comes to expressing character's emotions and the fight scenes but i have loved it so far. This movie wasn't as bad as social media makes (social media in general does) but it could've been improved on. This movie highlights Flash being one of the greats. I felt his connection with Iris. 6.9/10.

This movie was great, those IGN commenters just have no life other than complaining on the Internet.
That's just Snyder cultist that love to blame everything on James Gunn. He had nothing to do with this production and he probably would have elevated it if he did.
I mean it’s IGN they’re known for being stupid and unreliable

Dawnstar was the one of the original characters that was summoned by the Monitor in the original comic book source storyline. She is also a universal level tracker, so she can track down the Anti-Monitor wherever he is.
Too bad she got dusted
Dawnstar has been around for decades
My mouth literally opened out of shock and wouldn't close for like a minute because of Constantine's reveal
Ok, now I am interested. I love a good love story
@@donemu9096Why?
Anyone who loves this movie also loves to eat bland food….

they cancelled it? that's sad
It's strange cause it's really more of a Solo Flash movie that HAPPENS to have a bunch of other characters to lead into Crisis... but it's a really GOOD Flash Story and one of the best adaptations of Barry Allen taking elements of all sorts of pieces of the characters history.
This is by far the best review and explanation I've found 🔥
Im going to tell my kids, that this movie is what james gunn meant when he said the flash is one of the best superhero movie he’s ever seen
"Thank you for help me complete my primary function."
Damn. That line hit it like no other.
After the last few Tomorrowverse movies I didn’t have my hopes up but I was pleasantly surprised, hopefully the next two parts stick the landing
The ONLY downside to the movie, imo, is how it made Batman be portrayed like so differently.
- doesn't want to adopt Dick
- "I planned it, it's what I do"
- "What makes you think I'm not mad"
- and saying how he doesn't need a Lecture from a Friend
- Calling in an airstrike
It's Batman... But like if someone who never consumed Batman outside of Memes and BvS wrote Batman.
A small detail I loved was that in Green arrow's file it says that Connor Hawke is Speedy and that Greg Saunders Vigilante exists in the tommorowverse
Never thought they’d be able to nail this movie this much as a whole personally, really loved it.
It is a flash story at heart.
However, there was a TERRIBLE MISTAKE that didn't allowed me to properly enjoy the film, it wasn't in the plot, rather on the editing, & it was de Dialogue Pauses
*For some reason in this movie characters let a 10 seconds span between each word, & they do it ALL THE TIME, that killed my immersion & didn't allowed me to get properly invested*
& I really don't understand why they made such a Bizarre thing in the Editing
Holy shit, yesss. There was a scene, I think when flash gave everyone coffee. There was just this constant pause between each line, took me out of the scene multiple times
3-5 seconds actually

To be fair in regards to Constantine’s punishment, he was originally just exposed to be under house arrest living for eternity with perfect copies of the people he loved for all eternity, it was Constantine self loathing and inability to believe that he could ever have happiness for himself that caused everything in the house to begin transforming into Demons to kill home over and over again.
If Constantine was capable of self love he would have stayed in the house happily ever after……except he’s John Constantine….that’s like the one thing he can’t do, causing him to escape the House putting him directly in the path of the Universe to exact its price

I would watch flashpoint paradox over and over then this
For all the ups and downs of DC animated movies I’m just So happy to be able to watch them.
the only issues I had with the movie to be honest was some of the line deliveries and the fact, as mentioned in the video, that the movie could've played out better in how it revealed its events and twists but other than that it's decent enough for a beginning of a trilogy, hope part 2 and 3 will take notes and improve on what's been set up.
Yea some of the lines were cringe or not needed
I’m looking forward to these movies and catching up on tomorrow verse!
I got a feeling the homeless man talking to Barry and saving him is constantine. Flash paradox darkseid movie. He needed to pay and the homeless man said they both share the same Blame. Dawnstar appareance (as well as Dr. Light and Blue Beetle) are references to the original comics where they got important roles early on :)
Dawnstar was chosen by the Monitor in Crisis DC as part of a Multiverse team to protect the Earths and his huge tuning forks. She's the only Legionnaire representative at first. They did a bunch more with her in the 1980s DC comics than any time since.
i still find it weird that there's no Wonder Woman of Earth 1
This was OK not Great!. Dick Greyson IS Batman's son. Ivo and Iris are not black. This is a water-down version of a great story line!
This is the most positive hate comment i've ever seen
Honestly, surprised. Because I was expecting that nonsense about people complaining about Multiverse fatigue.
I want the previous animation eg RWBY, Turtles and Timm to have a role or mention
as a WonderBat fan, I have to ask: is there a possibility of WonderBat here at all? I've mostly gotten my hopes crushed, so I'm too scared to hope...
Seeing that scene with John and shayera made me so giddy with glee
After so long .
Its terrible if you really liked the original comic version. This one seriously could've been a Flash animated film. Thing about the original is, you knew something big was going on and it involved a massive cast of characters.
A 3 year engagement between Barry and Iris. For the fastest man alive, he sure knows how to move slow.

However, I don't know if I should check out this movie because an artist had his design for Black Lightning in this movie stolen by DC Animation, and they never contacted him about using it and just decided to use it in this movie without compensation. or approval from him
Just pirate it without supporting it
The evil superman cracked me up. "I had hoped that hobo magician was just full of sh!t." 😂 The delivery of it was perfect.
The fight scene with the robot Amazo was so clean and smooth I kept rewinding it. 😅
I was confused about Kara as well, though I feel she'll be the main focus in the second movie, like how Barry was in this one.
Flash is an important part of Crisis, especially in this universe. Develop well before killing him was a great choice.
Also still a Part 1
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope Kara (the 2nd biggest death in the comic book version of the Crisis on Infinite Earth) also gets as heartwarming a send-off as Barry did. I assume they will reveal that the reason the anti matter wave [SPOILER-did what it did in the movie] was because the Anti-Monitor is controlling it
I already commented in your last review that I completely disagreed with your review of Justice League Warworld and not to be condescending I figured out what was going on with Barry the second time he went back to a time already shown so I think you are exaggerating how complex this or Christopher Nolan movies in general are (except Tenet, that had me confused for a while tbh)
I agree that it would have been nicer to see more characters interact but it did not take away from the movie imo.
Even tho minor character I love that The Question had a moment
I'm a huge DC animated fan but the ARROW verse style of drawing isn't for me
but this Movie was great and hopefully the future films will be great aswell I want to see DC explore other heroes I'm getting sick and tired of the BIG 3 infact it was refreshing to see little of the Big 3 in this movie
You know every time they try to link the dceu to time travel and flash it always happens to turn out great.
I think Barry’s punishment in general was a bit lighter cause the universe hates Constantine lol
I just have 2 issues with this movie
1. The animation style and the characters animation was odd
I loved the dcamu animation style better and the characters style was perfect but this tomorrow verse animation is a bit odd.
Actually great…… I think not. They need the writers from before they started the tomorrowverse. The artist Also would be appreciated if they return
Was it though? Started out interesting but quickly lost its zip before becoming cheesy.
DC is the best if it comes to animated univers
Barry is always the final saviour for all.... It has always been him and I love it.... Too bad he gets his ass kicked by super villains too easily at times.
I loved it and I was soyfacing throughout all the Watchtower scenes. Part 2 should have some iconic comic book moments that I don't want to spoil here, but Part 1 was a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the original Crisis storyline with just a few changes to fit the Tomorrowverse and surprise DC diehards.
I went wtf Lara is Lyla 😂😂
To think, ALL this started just cause Barry wanted to save his mum
From Superman/Doomsday to this and all in between....it's been one hell of a ride. What's next?
The Tomorrowverse has issues when it comes to expressing character's emotions and the fight scenes but i have loved it so far. This movie wasn't as bad as social media makes (social media in general does) but it could've been improved on. This movie highlights Flash being one of the greats. I felt his connection with Iris. 6.9/10.
I’m pretty sure the Flash from the movie intro is the New 52 movie universe and the Batman is TAS version. I might just be hallucinating
Compared to Constantine, Barry is the universe's most favorite creation lol
