I want every single dog owner watching this video right now to save this video and if you can download it. This is the most educational video you will ever come across for those that like to go hiking with your dogs. So listen up if your dogs ever get so scared that they run back to the truck, you don’t stand there wondering what’s going on you go back to the truck and you leave and then you learn from your dogs and you never ever ever go back to that spot ever again no matter how much you want to or how much you miss that spot. You learn from the way your animals reacted and you never ever go back to that spot in the wilderness ever again. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
I was hiking the sunset once with two Huskies and a Shepherd mix, all in the 70lb range, when we heard a big CRACK like a branch breaking, and everything went absolutely silent. The dogs and I all froze and stayed there for what felt like a long time. Nothing happened. Finally I took a tiny step towards the dogs and all 3 of them put their heads down and pulled me the 2 miles back to the car. They didn't stop even once the entire way to sniff or pee on anything. The woods were dead silent the whole time. At one point I smelled something sour and grassy, like a deer gutpile, and the dogs were not interested; they pulled harder. We don't have big predators here. Coyote, maybe bobcat. Black bears down south, but not here. It was months before I went back there, and only in the daytime now. Never had anything before or since. I wonder if it was a poacher?
@sarasmr4278 Sounds like you just might have a large predator, after all. VERY large. We need to listen to our animals, but also nature. If nature goes dead silent, there's a reason. And if something just doesn't feel right, there's a good chance it's not right. Don't dismiss your gut instinct. ❤
Not if you're a self centered woman that argues with and disobeys your husband's warnings that were for your own safety. I don't even think she was afraid for her husband going; she just didn't want him to leave and stop being her unpaid sentry.

when she finally got out to the highway, I felt such a relief.. hadn't even realize how tense I'd been up to that point. scary as hell phew! thank you, chris!

Dogs know, listen to them. Kelly made some decisions that created the possibility of this frightening scenario with Sasquatch - glad she made it out. Thanks Chris - be safe. 🥰👍🏼
@@cdd4248 once when I was hiking with my 2 Huskies and Shepherd mix, all 3 of them walked right over a snake. It was right in the middle of the path and had frozen. It wasn't venomous so I just stepped around it and kept the dogs moving so they wouldn't go after it. I do always enjoy it when my human eyes can pick up on something they've missed. Just sharing a story you brought to mind. Your point is well taken. 💜 stay safe and keep hiking!
Dogs will also warn you if a person is threatening. My daughter at 15 was walking her Corgi, Ace (who never growl and rarely bark but she always walked with a lease) one of the routes she took was thru a park, the pathway was thru forest that led to the beach. This one time in the afternoon a man jumped out of the bushes onto trail in front of my daughter, and Ace went crazy growling, barking and lunging. The man asked my daughter does you dog bite? she replied yes (which was a lie) but my daughter had a bad vibe from this man. The man walked away giving a wide girth to Ace. When my daughter returned home she told me "I ran into some weirdo when I was walking Ace where Ace became very aggressive towards him. I suggested she take a different walk for awhile, to be safe, as that man likely had bad intentions for Ace to react towards that way . The following night we were watching the local news report that a 12 year old girl had been raped yesterday afternoon in that very park.
I love how you do your channel. You do camping, hiking, test a different beer each time and tell a good "ghost" story, all in one episode. Kudo's to you.
Hi Fred from R.I. I just finished listening to the 3 parts of Thomas's ordeal. My heart breaks for him. So much suffering in his life. He is a good soul. I hope he knows this. I am heartbroken for him. Your deliverance was, as always, excellent. Well thought out and full of empathy. Thank you and Thomas.
What a story, really scary stuff for Kelly and her dogs, poor Daisy the only loyal one couldn't take it anymore. Yeah, I'd have the jitters of uneasiness for days after that. Thanks Chris for telling Kelly's and Dan's encounter from 30 years ago.
Base Camp Chris, wow! what a story! tis story is very frightening and it offers proof of the existence of Sasquatch and confirms the legends the Shoshone People. Te most disturbing aspect is the behavior of the SAS. It laid a trap for Kelly by placing that uprooted aspen tree across the road. That was an act worthy of the “Evil that lurks in the hearts of Men” . . t dfferes from so many oter stories in that the Creatures seemed content to just scare the humans into leaving the area. . Maybe it was out for revenge when Kelly didn’t stay away after the first encounter, but came back for more. it is also signficant and very creepy that Kelly no longer felt safe in town and in her home. Those SAS are said to communicate telepathically. I wonder if it “told her” it was going to track her down.? And her husband, after hunting for it,made the decison to re-locate far away. . . .
This was one of the scariest encounters I’ve heard. These things are out there and hopefully people will be aware, great job in delivering the encounter story Chris!! 😊😊

Thanks for the walk.be safe
Chris, you do so much hiking and camping by yourself, I just thought you would naturally carry a weapon.
Great story ! You had me going all the way to the end ! Great point though, pay attention to your pups as you hike or bike a trail ! Very possible that they can save you a bunch of grief !
