i would invest in a sonic cleaner (heated 1 is good)for all these carbs that need attention it will save you lots of cleaning time inside and out and don't forget to pull out the emulsion tube when cleaning the carby it will also free up seized throttle plates shafts and jets ... well done and good find 👍
Awesome! I have an A 2008 Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS Too! It is a great machine, and 52 horsepower stock! I see at 32:46 you check out the rear and find the wheel bearings are shot. They may be shot but also they could be needle bearings. This is because where the A arms connect to the frame and the carrier, it looks like bushings but it is actually needle bearings. I recently found this out and just removed the needles, cleaned the inside and jam-packed it with grease when re assembling. I'd recommend checking into that because mine had the same movement.

Sometimes the deal can be real lol I remember when I got hurt at work and I was loosing everything and I had to sell my quad as the wife’s car was repo’ed it was 2009 and I put my 2007 Honda rancher 420 up for 4500 ! I needed the cash bad and I received hundreds of emails saying my quad must be stolen ! Well one very lucky fella came and got it as I had tears running down my face as he drove away with it ! Sometimes someone’s misery can be your gain 👍 love the vids 👍
At least I know I wasn't the only one going through times like that. Sure felt like I was. They shut my plant down had to sell my boat and quad just to keep food on the table and roof over our heads for a few extra months. Unfortunately alot of us are heading for it again if we keep this current heading.

I used to have an 08 outlaw 525 and this is not the 525 unfortunately. It is the 2006 outlaw 500 with the same engine as the predator 500s
Definitely with you I had a 500 outlaw. Still a great quad just not the torque monster 525. That woodruff key is gonna be dust banging off that rev limiter smdh

It’s smoking bud I would put some rings or a new piston and rings in it These was always good quads The frame come that color It needs some degreaser and good cleaning it would look way better get all that crap off it
I could be wrong it happens, but I'm pretty sure that's an Outlaw 500. the 525 motor is completely different than that and that is a Predator 500 motor.
I think that is is a 525 because it has the independent rear suspension

Honestly that looks nothing like the outlaw 525 engine! That is the predator 500 engine. And both the IRS suspension outlaw chassis ATV's had the same platform engine.. one had an outlaw 525 while the other IRS outlaw had a predator 500 engine! It's totally possible that is the case here. It looks like the predator 500 engine in the outlaw chassis.

That’s a 500 motor not a 525. The 525 is made by KTM and says it on the side covers of the engine.

Good to see at least this one cleaned before commencing work! 😁 As you said, that oil even sounded thin when it hit the pan, its the engines blood people, regular oil and filter changes is cheap insurance.
They come with Douglas wheels from the factory they're only the yellow label rims so they're the cheap ones they're not really worth much it's also missing the dual rate springs out of the front there should be too small springs on top of the larger springs

@@JohnDoe-ww2zf I do believe you are wrong. That is a fugi motor, not a ktm. Are you sure you even know the difference? They made 2 different outlaws.....a 500 and a 525, one with the fugi motor and one with the ktm. The engine side cases say polaris, if it was a 525 it would say KTM on the side cases. So before you go calling someone wrong maybe you should know your atvs.
I have both an outlaw 500 and an outlaw 525. Both are 2007 and both are irs.
My 525 is white and black. My 500 is grey and black.

I have the same exact quad. 06 Polaris outlaw 500. Same axels, fox shocks, and all. Only difference is my fram is black lol. And grey seat

Ask? I mean, the engine of the 2006 Outlaw 500 is the same engine that comes with the Predator. I mean, why have I searched for parts or spare parts for the Outlaw, but they almost don't appear, more of the Predator appear.

I got a Honda trx450er that needed a carb clean and that’s all it needed till 1st gear went out the first day I rode it and then the whole transmission 2 months later.

Yeah definitely I only paid $2400 so if the transmission wasn’t blown soon after it would have been perfect. Bonus is now it is completely built for the price of a working stock one.

You seem to have an aversion to adding a decent amount of gas for your “rips”. You have run out so many times on the videos and if that had been a 2-cycle engine it could have caused damage. Fill it up!

I have a 525 KTM outlaw on a long hard ride the Clutch which is hydraulic loses It’s prime until it cools off. Any ideas?
I use Rotella T4 or T6 in all my wet clutch engines. Works great, JASO certified, and cheaper than the “motorcycle” oil.

I wonder if there's a neutral safety switch? That could go hand and hand with why the neutral light isn't working.
that's what he was talking about with the two bolts on the bottom side of the motor they have a switch in the motor and a wire connects to it to ground it when it's grounded the neutral light is on its common on Hondas and other some other bikes you just cut and ground that wire and the neutral light stays on works great in mud bikes you can start in any gear say your under the water in gear it dies you just fire it right back up assuming it's a honda you should be good to go

You can try to push start quads that have reverse in reverse it tends to be easier to do that way. I have an ltz400 and if needed I'm able to start it in reverse.
I’m going to have to try that. I have been stuck a few times cause of a dead battery.

This is the 500 outlaw, not the 525. I have the same machine, replaced many of those CV boots. They can be annoying, but with some patience they're not hard. Lots of videos on TH-cam are the hard way, I have a very badly shot video on my channel of an easier way I found to do them. th-cam.com/video/Y9WiE4oCSxI/w-d-xo.html
The issue with this design is air pressure builds up as you ride and it warms up, and then it gets much easier for rocks or sticks to puncture them. Kind of annoying.
Fantastic and very fast machines when running well, super comfy and destroys rough terrain with ease.

Seriously if you’re going to sell something take 15 or 20 minutes to give it a bath make it presentable if I would’ve walked up that machine, I would’ve walked away just based on how dirty it is, I would’ve walked away whoever owned. It did not give a shit about it.

You got burned on this one. That is still a good deal on an Outlaw 500 but it isn't a 525 with the KTM RFS engine unfortunately.

go buy yourself a power probe for checking the electronics on these machines you'll wish you would have purchased one year's ago I've done mechanic work on vehicles and ATV's after I bought one I couldn't believe the time it saved diagnosing electrical issues
The oil is black af...bc u said u smelt gas in the oil...well the gas acted as tho a cleaner and cleaned the engine out so...ya got a nice engine flush lol luckily it didnt spin a bearing or wipe one out and fixed the carb....polaris makes some good equipment....one of these outlaws won the local line mountain 7 miler race 2 years in a row where I live...the irs I'm sure had alot to do with it
I'm surprised that there's no kicker or pull cord recoil start on that machine. You could find an incline and bump start it,.....

Idk how someone can sell something without cleaning it and still want good money for it, back when I was younger it was considered rude to sell a bike that dirty, and we always detailed a car to.try and get more money out it, people are just lazy these days

Maybe the clutch is sticky when you stop it cuts out. Thinking your clutch is not full disengaging and stalling the motor

I had this problem with my old ltz400 battery had a bad cell and it was sucking all the voltage she would pop and bang and die when you were trying to ride it
well you never seem to learn always got to push it without testing it before riding it always check twice before a hard ride
pressure washes bike so you didnt have to work on it dirty. then you pulled the case saver and just open a muddy hole.. lol you never just go for the carb
