Sound of Truth is honestly what got me into metalcore when I was younger. Best guitar riffs ever made. An Ocean Between Us is one of my favorite albums ever made
Clean/backup vocals and bass was done by Josh Gilbert. He now plays the same roles in Spiritbox. He also did a great vocal cameo on an awesome song "Aura" by the band "Oni" with Howard Jones as well! VERY talented guy, that Josh!
Tim is the lead vocals, josh gilbert does the clean vocals from 2006-2014 ,2018-2022. Ryan has not recorded anything in the band yet as he has just joined AILD .
There's not enough AILD reactions on TH-cam. These guys are OG metalcore
YOu should definitely try some of their early songs. like sound of truth, parallels, 94 hours, Through struggle etc.

I've been listening to them since they first started in 2006 and they've been my favourite band from then on. Seriously the only band/artist I've ever heard that don't have a single song I dislike. Never thought that would be possible.
As you now know, Josh is the vocalist for this song. Ryan joined later after this video and Ryan is from an INCREDIBLE band called Miss May I which you should also listen to!
The clean vocalist/bassist is Josh Gilbert, who is now in Spiritbox. As I Lay Dying was supposed to do an anniversary tour, but Josh and Nick (Guitarist) both left the band. If you watch a video of this song live with the current members, you're gonna be disappointed lol

Even if the song is new to the "main metalcore era" this remembers me to so much good times. I had my very first circle pit and wall of death with As I Lay Dying and Chimaira (played after AILD) at Rock im Park 2007!
It looked brutal but was so harmles and people just watched out for each other!
Loved these times.
There's definitely a lot of songs you can listening to from this band!

Always some nice chill, and relaxing metal in all the best ways.
One of my favorite bands. Saw them a few years ago when they played in Denver and they put on an amazing show. I hope you cover a few more songs.. "Nothing Left," "A Greater Foundation," "Parallels," or "The Sound of Truth" are all great.
So Tim the harsh vocalist has a few other projects as well. Born Through Fire and Austrian Death Machine. Austrian Death Machine just released a new album last month and there is several songs where Tim has his wife Dani featured on them. Also wish I had seen this sooner! I'm actually friends with Dani and I'm sure she would love to tell Tim that you did a reaction to this!
Confined is deff a banger..first album was more angry with less harmony but intense..94 hours was the first song I ever heard from them n I'm hooked ever since..going to c them headline with chelsea grin in July in philly!
Absolutely amazing band. Definitely one of the first genuine metalcore bands, they took a dark turn in 2013 with their lead singer Tim, but their come back in 2018 with this song and album Shaped By Fire (which this song is featured on) was amazing. Despite losing most of the original members within the last couple of years, the band and Tim is still as brutal as ever.

As I lay dying was one of my favorite metalcore bands from the original rise of the genre. Kinda surprise at the lack of comments about the lead singer trying to have his wife killed.
I saw someone recommend while she sleeps for you to check and VERY much agree with that. Such a heavy and catchy band.
If nothing else, I would check out The Sound of Truth. One of their best guitar-centered songs and one of the best hooks of any of their songs.

Also, check out another band, Killswitch Engage, especially their song "The Signal Fire (feat. Howard Jones)." This second song is essentially the best crossover in the genre.

I love this band. I've been listening to them since 2007. Their music is pure energy. I would also recommend a band named Any Given Day. Their song, Endurance is one of my favorites because of the flow of the song. It reminds me a lot of As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Five Finger Death Punch. Keep it metal. \m/

Josh Gilbert was the clean vocalist in this track .. he left the band in 22 Ryan neff was filling in for aild. He was formerly in miss may I. Both are great clean vocalist.. it’s cool. Gives mistake

Deadlock is a band with a mix between male and female fronted singer and a very experimental melodic death metal style.
So they had a song which had a transition into a classic 90s rap song for example. Or a view others with rave elements in it.

Oh boy, AILD has so many goddamn great songs, too many to list. Confined was the first one I heard of them and it instantly made me a huge fan. Anodyne Sea has a great video so I'd recommend that one next.
You should listen to "her last sight", it's an awesome band
AILD is pure metalcore. Their older shit is def better imo. They've always had some of the best cleans in the genre.

You should check out wovenwar. When tim went to prison the members brought shane into the mix making a new band. Shane is a fantastic vocalist from oh, sleeper. They didnt have a long run unfortunately.

Up until the vocalist's debacle in 2012 (the whole scenario where he plotted to have his wife murdered) , they were one of my fav metalcore bands.
Then that happened.
The 2018/2019 return was welcome but then one by one the most important members chose to leave onto greener pastures, one after the other? No surprise that the guy who plotted that shit in 2012 is not easy to work with
