I remember before milky way was posted twtr stan were coming for rv"s vocal ability like their 6 years in this industry doesn't prove their heavenly voice but look rv set the bar high again. I hadn't heard to BoA's version of 'Milk Way' before listening to Red Velvet's version, and listening to it now with you guys, shows how this is even more incredible, the way they rearranged the music to a new style, with beautiful harmonies and fitting so well with the girls tones and singing styles.
I really loved that Red Velvet's homage to our queen BoA! She deserves all the applause and love for her incredible career ♥
One of the things that makes SM stand out from other companies in regards to their groups is how well they take advantage of how easy it is to do harmonization. EXO, Red Velvet, and SHINee come to my mind. If you have more than one person in a group, harmonize! There’s no downside to it that I can think of. Want to fix poor line distribution? Harmonize. Want to give more complexity to your music? Harmonize. Am I saying that you need jazz level harmonies for every song you compose? No (but who’s stopping you, because I’m not), but take advantage of the different voices in your group instead of only having them sing individual lines and having everyone sing unison during the chorus. You have individuals singing as a single unit, yes, but they’re not a hive mind. They’re individuals with different voices that should be utilized.
SM is great in that they teach all their artists how to harmonise. TVXQ (OT5 and OT2), SuJu and SNSD all have beautiful harmonies as well!

This comment needs more likes and is probably why I favor SM stuff over other groups and labels. I'm a sucker for wonderful harmonies and that's also why Red Velvet was my gateway drug into K-pop.

Nope✊ bcoz only red velvet could do that even Mamamoo cnt. But if they have one I thought that in my mind was aespa.. Their just recently debuted but I see the potential in Aespa the fact that all of them are singers and their voices blent so well as one,Hearing black mamba I must say aespa is one of; their voices sings together was like red velvet smooth and flavorful they're not as perfect as RED VELVET RNB thing but their reefs is amazing.

Wat I'm trying to say was RED VELVET style is amazing., the songs of them have a different flavour compare to others., theirs the song that you can feel the emotion, the vocals, how their voices tell a story, the perfect Arrangement of songs with their voices that fits is incredible.. If u dnt know this 2 producer who work in RED VELVET and TWICE he even praised red velvet vocals and how red velvet music is, also how they amazed of them esp to the SM music production. The way he said the selection process of music into RED VELVET vocals is true., I'm not saying this to say negative to other grps wat I'm just trying to say was truth that RED VELVET music have a different impact compare to other kpop grps esp girlgroup.
I was so shocked when you said you checked out Boa's discography! Most people in kpop only know second gen to now, but there are so many great songs and artists from way before them.

The actual queen of SM, its a nostalgic feeling when I hear these old songs of BoA I'm transported right back to when I discovered her back in 2003, This whole our beloved BoA project has to be one of the best things SM ever did, I wish alot more people would recognise the talent BoA has she was the first internationally renowned Korean artist, She is the definition of paving the way. I love milky way it's such a cute song and I'm happy red velvet got to cover this song, the arrangement was so good and suited then all very well.

I too somehow ended up missing out Milky way when i was on a BoA discography marathon, so i checked it out before RV 's ver. came out, it reminded me of, like Seji said disney lol it was so fresh and RV's is more soothing. Love them both.

Since this is my first time to actually listen to Boa's and I had listened first to RV's rendition of this, seemed like I am actually hearing RV still. 😍
As a old kpopper since 2003 so since the first k-pop generation and also as a Jumping BoA (BoA fandom name) since the same years because BoA brought me to K-pop via her J-pop music. It make me smile to see the younger k-pop fan react to her musics. Even thought i'm not a Red Velvet fan, i think that they did a good job with Milky way and it's also nice to see young singer group explore BoA songs to honor her.

I'm a reveluv and also a fan of Boa, and i think this version is really amazing. It kinda makes you feel like it's a new different song but it actually not. And totally agreed with you on each rearranged stations can stand on their own. Apart from this song, I think Only One - Gallant version is amazing too.
