For my future reference: Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, cream butter until soft and smooth. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla and mix until light and fluffy. ½ cup unsalted butter 1½ cup + 4 tablespoons confectioners' sugar 2 teaspoon milk 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
I dont know what recipe you posted before the edit but for macarons you're supposed to make a less sweet filling because macarons are already really sweet as is. So if the other person said you didnt have enough sugar in the first place you were probably on the right track.
Again if you're planning on using this for cake it's a good recipe since frosting on cake should be sweet but if you're planning on using this for macarons the recipe above might be too sweet.

Did you oven dry like she did? How exactly did you do it? I"m having trouble with that step. Do you use convection setting? Does the 2 min start once you partly close the oven door or do you let it get back up to 120C and then close the door and start baking at your normal temp? Sorry for the 20 questions.

Sugar Bean 슈가빈 😫😫 I did the whole recipe and your drying method, the recipe is really good, but I guess my oven was too hot and I ended up with either burnt or cracked shells.
Millie Vesper I had the same problem every time I tried to bake them. What helped me in the end ist to put a wooden spoon to prevent my oven to close all the way. That way a little bit of the heat could escape and I get perfect results every time.

Maybe try using a food processor and sifting the dry ingredients?
